This has been one of the most difficult challenges our family has to deal with having to put my mom there brought us peace the people that work there have been absolutely fabulous they've been with us every step of the way there's no way I could begin to tell them thank you enough

I wrote this for Nurses Day: Vista del Lago Nurses are the BEST! My Mom, [name removed], has been at Vista del Lago for 9-months now. I visit two or three times a week and I tell everyone that I am so glad we chose Vista del Lago to care for mom. The care she gets there is wonderful. The nurses at Vista del Lago are fantastic! They really do care; they get to know each resident and are very patient and understanding with them. Their constant interaction with mom is great. She can be difficult at times but the nurses keep a positive attitude and lend a helping hand when needed. They go out of their way to try to get mom involved in activities. All of the nurses ROCK! Thanks so much for all you do. Vista del Lago has great administrators too. [name removed], the Executive Director is very personable and proactive. He has kept Vista del Lago as safe as can be during the Covid 19 pandemic. [name removed], the Marketing Director was our first contact there in August 2019. She not only helped us understand the facility, she also helps keep residents in contact with their family residents during this time of social distancing by sending out wonderful videos of the residents to share with their families. I highly recommend Vista del Lago to anyone with a loved one with memory problems that is looking for a well run, comforting place to live.

We have had clients continuously living at Vista Del Lago for over 3 years. The facility itself is attractive and well-organized. The staff members are well-trained and kind with the residents, supporting all of their needs. The facility has been innovative about maintaining communications with residents families, care providers, and friends, since the very beginning of the "Pandemic Era", and they continue to maintain steady contact. Additionally, they have worked hard to provide creative activities to maintain a high level of stimulation and support for their very special residents, as well as support for their residents' families. We are licensed professional fiduciaries in the State of California.

My husband lived here for 2 months last year, before passing away from Alzheimer's. I was so glad that I had chosen this facility, as the staff were amazing. Their kindness and patience, especially with his agitation and unpredictable behavior, went above and beyond my expectations. When it came time for Hospice care, I really appreciated their referral. I would recommend Vista del Lago to anyone seeking dementia care for their loved one!

My husband was in assisted living at Riverwalk for 2 weeks after a pacemaker implant. The buildings and grounds are lovely. His description of the food was that it was adequate and they had the "best" cookies. He is a "book" man and was glad to see they had a library. But he was troubled by the staff's inability to work out his prescriptions for knee pain (he would be having knee replacement surgery later in the year) or to let him know the services they offered. It took almost the entire 2 weeks for prescriptions to be ordered and received. I wound up taking home laundry when it was a service provided. Overall, I think Brookdale Riverwalk would be a good solution for long term assistance. The initial time period was just a bit disconcerting. As it turns out, my husband was in the rehab, skilled nursing building after knee replacement surgery in November. His total care there was wonderful, including prescription maintenance, physical therapy, doctor visits, and calls by the insurance case worker letting me know what was going on. I am grateful for both experiences.

Two years ago our uncle moved in this large southern style colonial house. it has such lovely park like grounds. there is nice music playing for the residents. the staff keep it so clean and neat. we visit and the waterfall has a soothing sound. most of all he really likes the good food which is more healthy for him too. even though he shares a large spacious room with another person, it is very considerable priced for our family. many other locations were more like a hospital setting instead of home environment. A woman who is the owner has many years experience and we know she cares about the people living there too. The staff seemed to like their ability to help them also. The daily schedule changes to offer different games and activities for the group programs.

Our grand mother lived there for a few years and we could go visit anytime unannounced which was great. The safety and security there was the best as we had to access to get through the locked gated area. we felt she was protected there and she could take her walker and one of the caregivers would watch as she walked outside. there are so many tall trees, lots of shade and vines. it does not have the appearance of a hospital or like a facility. the place looks like a home. even her room and roommate made here feel comfortable. she gained weight finally due to being served better full cooked meals from the kitchen. good people and they cared well for her too.

I have been pleased with the care my husband is getting at Vista del Lago because they are very well set-up well for alzhiemers/dementia care. I also used them for daycare before he moved here permanently. He has had some trouble with his transition as he is the type that does not like to interact but the staff is working with him and they are also encouraging him to take part in a few of the activities at a time. My husband does enjoy going to the bistro from time to time for his meals and he likes eating in his room as well. We have had some trouble with his clothes and sheets always missing when they go to the laundry which I do have to stay on top of that. My husband is now on hospice and Vista del Lago did help with those arrangements. I would recommend Vista del Lago both for long term and day care for anyone looking for their loved ones

We toured this community and found the staff to be helpful and caring. I liked the staff who were nice and able to answer the questions we had. The community was clean and it was a positive environment. We would recommend this community to other residents.

I am very happy living at Brookdale. I have made friends and the staff are very helpful. The food is good and they offer a variety of choices. They offer numerous activities and you can schedule outings to the store and for appointments. The community is clean and I am glad I moved here.

Things are going pretty well since I made the move into the Brookdale Oceanside. Everyone is very friendly and take good care of me. The place is clean and well maintained, so far I don't see anything that they could improve on.

Brookdale Riverwalk in Bakersfield is a very nice place for Alzheimers patients. The rooms are spacious and always clean, the grounds are beautiful and the staff is always friendly and loving toward their patients. Couldn't ask for better care!

I am happy with this community and the care that is provided. I come here everyday and I see that it is clean but my only complaint is with her bed. The housekeeping does not make her bed. Otherwise, my wife enjoys the activities and she has made some friends. We like most of the meals, it is very seldom there is one that we don't like. The cook does very well and I have no complaints. I love this place it meets my requirements. It makes me happy.

The care is going good and very well for my mom. It is good that I am to keep in touch with the staff and they are nice people. I believe my mom likes the meals that are served. Activities are available and the staff try to encourage my mom to get involved. I would recommend this community.

They do not have televisions or phones in their rooms. Kelsea was great as she gave my loved one a tv, a table and chair and an electric bed for her room at no charge. I thought the food looked good but she did not like it. They offered a lot of entertainment and other activities. They followed through on what they said. My only issue is the billing process. I would recommend checking on the daily costs before moving in.

After visiting 6 other Sr. Care facilities, I decided on Brookdale San Dimas. In 2015 I had been in the skilled nursing section, off and on, for about 6 months and received very good care. The facility offered many amenities that were appealing. My apartment is very nice-everything is convenient. I only need a very minimum of care at this time, but should an emergency arise there are caregivers available. It is rather like being on a cruise-everything is provided for one price; nice... The food is Ok-a bit the same and challenging if you watch sodium and sugar-but I am getting used to it.

I would highly recommend Brookdale's Memory Care facility. Our mother had previously been in a very nice Assisted Living facility, but they were not equipped to provide the staff attention and redirection necessary to address her increased dementia issues - so our search began. After visiting about 8 facilities we narrowed it down to two that had very similar philosophies. We chose Brookdale because of proximity to family. It also had been recently updated with an open garden and patio area for residents, which the other facility did not have and our mother enjoys. But the most importantly our mother is happy here. They have been able to reduce her medications which decreases her anxiety and get her involved in activities and interacting with other residents.

I can't say enough about the memory care caregivers. they are totally there for the resident and their care. they make sure they are clean, dressed nicely, notice when there is a problem and are great at communicating with family members. activities are more limited than other places, but I would much rather have the one-on-one special care they give than more/better activities. and they have one of the best head nurses in the coachella valley overseeing all of this.

I think the rooms are lai8d out really well. The food is good and they have good service. I have nothing bad to say.

Things are going pretty well. The staff is nice and the community is clean. They have a really good activity program. The food is kind of bland, in the memory care they don't have a lot of options. The correspondence back and forth could be improved. When I call and get voice mail and they are not quick about getting back to me. The late fee is 150$ and that seems really steep.
