Rude Employees

[name removed] is extremely rude and I would NEVER send anyone I love and care about to them if they speak to people inquiring with a nasty and disrespectful attitude. Very disgusted and disappointed. If I could give 0 stars for friendliness and staff I would. Will be looking elsewhere and definitely steer everyone away from this location.

Proceed with extreme caution

The maintenance staff is incompetent and the facility is understaffed. My mom waited 45 minutes naked and wet on the floor after ringing for help. She developed pneumonia having just been released from the hospital with pneumonia. Her threshold remained a trip hazard until her PT raised an issue and it was fixed 3 days before she left, 25 days after moving in. She frequently went without food because of how they serve it. The hold bars in the showers and bathrooms are not ADA compliant and there are illegal outlets too close to sinks. It's an accident waiting to happen. I just hope no one else gets hurt. Oh, and they destroyed her wheelchair and didn't take accountability for it and then put her in a wheelchair that was too small for her further complicating the pneumonia. She ended up back in the hospital.

False promises

Overpriced Don't deliver on promises. Exec Director is FAKE, loud and obnoxious. Seems to only be concerned about money. Not caring at all. Good thing Caregivers are very caring, run by a wonderful, caring Resident Director, [name removed] and assistant RN. Had a chance to view memory care, run my a nice man, can't remember his name. Food was great and is now borderline disgusting. We moved mom out and she has since passed.

Unacceptable administrators

The administrators are unacceptable. The director chooses friends over qualified employees. Always short staffed and the residents are suffering because of it. If you're looking for quality care go elsewhere. A very high turnover rate with employees.

Pretty on outside but not on the inside.

The front desk staff are very rude and condescending. They make promises, such as, she would have a refrigerator in her room when she moved in. It's been three months and she still doesn't have one. The food that's being served is not identifiable and served cold most times. When you interact with the person at the front desk when I mention my sister's name they roll their eyes and suck their tongues as if there was a problem. When I asked if there was a problem I was told no there's no problem. All of this and she still doesn't have a key to her room. She has to ask someone to give her access to the room she pays [fee removed] a month.

New name = bad choice

We moved our loved one in about 11 months ago. We really liked the options & management. [date removed], New Facility director took over & nothing has gone right. Staff is quitting, or they let wonderful nurses resign due to bad management. That all aside in the 11 months my loved one has lived there the price has changed 3 times! Effective [date removed] they are making all the residents take an assisted living package for $[removed]more a month! My loved one receives no cares from staff except what is provided with light housekeeping, laundry & meals. They don't have the staff to provide "cares" for all the residents. With this price increase we will be paying $[removed] a month for a 1 bedroom apartment!! That's $[removed]in 1 year! Plus, the activities director treats the independent & assisted living residents like children some of the activities are very undignified. Playing with Legos & tinker toys is not something my 85 year old loved one would like to do. We are moving our loved one.

Where is the staff hiding?

The staff is never around, especially the front desk attendant. The lights are always off behind the desk. Their work days always end at 2:30 or 3:30pm. All of the employees are new even the Exec. Director is fairly new. I was promised many things when signing up but received very little. It is like pulling teeth! I do like the CNA's they are sweet and compassionate. That is the only good thing about this place. This place has lots of room for improvement. I hope they don't let me down.

Rittenhouses memory unit is not good for one on one care

The communities said that my loved one could stay during his last days but they decided that they couldn't offer the care that he needed. I felt in the memory care unit they need more personalized care rather than leaving the residence in their room and not engaging them. He did not receive the care he needed and was hospitalized due to sores. I would not recommend this community to others

If you care about your loved one don't place them at the Glendale

The community was not taking care of my loved ones like they were supposed to. They did not handle our loved ones' care and did not follow the proper procedures. Her dietary need was not being met after several times letting them know what our loved one needed. I would not recommend this community to others. I complained to the parent company and they did refund the last month of us being there.

Stay away

Sorry, but this place I wouldn't recommend. *Food is good, waitstaff excellent! *Facility is nice except for the back- Dirty, Dirty entrance which has a door that doesn't work, dirty, smelly old carpets and walls, non working door. Buy some paint, a brush and febreeze. * Director - they should replace - unresponsive to requests, insensitive to seniors needs, not a caregiver. Kind of like a used car salesman. * Nurses are ok.

At 1st my husband & I thought that this would be the place for my Mom, but after bringing Mom in for the Tour & seeing the apartments in her price range, this is NOT the place for Mom. The high ceilings make it very difficult to hear in the public rooms of the building such as the Dining Hall. And other issues too.

Not a good place if u cant care for yourself.

If you cant care for yourself or have a family member to be there on a daily basis you will not get good care. Staff are not certified aides and some of the nurses have attitude issues. Patients are not checked on on a regular basis and if you need help with care you are screwed. Saw this first hand. If it wasn't for Hospice coming in my loved one would have gotten next to nothing for care. Some of the staff are very questionable and my loved one was afraid of some of them. If you need a staff member good luck in getting someone. Short staffed and shady employees. Their are alot of empty rooms so that in itself should be telling.

Financial Management Poor - Possibly operator about to file bankruptcy

As of today June 14, 2018 a judge has issued a judgement against them for the amount due by Father's estate. If you're in the Nashville area and have a family member or friend looking for a senior living community or memory care please caution them to check into the strength and stability of the operating company... (FYI... they owe us thousands) and as of today May 17, 2018 I have received no response from any of the individuals we have contacted. (The facility, the operator, and the property owners). The property owners told us to continue to put pressure on the Executive Director of Maybelle to get us paid but they are directed by the operator to not respond to us. Additionally the Better Business Bureau has requested a response from them twice with also no response to date and they have told the BBB they will not respond. I am currently preparing documents for general sessions court. Grieving families should not be subjected to such rudeness and bullying. AND NOW MY ORIGINAL April 10, 2018 POSTED REVIEW........ This is strictly related to the Business Office and the Operator of the facility, New Horizons a subsidiary of Eastlake Capital which is located in Dallas, Texas with Andrew White as the President of Eastlake Capital. On February 4, 2018 our family member/resident of Maybelle Carter passed away. The same day we vacated the contracted space and gave formal notice to the facility so that as per our contract we would receive a prorated refund of the prepaid rent. According to the contract we were to receive the refund within two weeks after vacating the space. After three weeks had passed without any communication related to the refund I made an in-person visit to the facility and discovered the paperwork had not been submitted to New Horizons/Eastlake Capital for our refund. The paperwork had been completed that day and was being forwarded to their corporate office. One month after the paperwork was initially submitted the refund still had not arrived, so I called and then paid a visit on-site again. After a lengthy conversation with the on-site management team at Maybelle Carter I was informed that I wasn't the only one not being paid. No refunds were being paid and neither were the facility's vendors, however the employees of Maybelle were still being paid their wages. At this point we decided to attempt contact with Maybelle's corporate office (Eastlake Capital) and discovered that their phone system will not allow phone calls made outside of their facility's network to be completed. Based on this, an official demand for payment letter was sent to all responsible parties including the REIT (real estate investment trust) owner of the property, National Health Investors Inc of Murfreesboro and demand for payment has currently gone unanswered. It has now been 63 days with no refund or communication from Maybelle Carter, New Horizons, Eastlake Capital or National Health Investors Inc. At this point, because of this current financial situation, I'm more concerned with the well being of the residents because it does make me wonder what they're doing without. All that said, I would encourage anyone considering Maybelle as a future home for a loved one... or even a current resident who may run across this comment (unless it gets removed) to question heavily the current financial state of the operator.

Would not recommend this place. No real concern for the elderly, money driven. They prey upon your "what's best for Mom" emotions and try to make it sound like they care. They don't. I feel this industry really needs to be more regulated. You'll get that same gut feeling, and trust me, your gut feelings are correct. This is how the 2 week respite went. Pressured driven sales tactics, Trying to get you to sign agreements for longer than you want prior to moving in, the old bait and switch. Poor follow up and follow through. My Mom needed an ottoman for an open wound she had on her leg and it was very important for her to keep it elevated. The Executive Director, who met us upon arrival and showed her to her room said he would get her one that night before he left. He was cordial, affable, and courteous. That was Thursday. When I came back on Monday, she still didn't have one. He never got it- I had to go out and get it. This was the FIRST day - and he is the guy running the place. His response - "Oh, I'm sorry". Not enough staff on. This place is big and getting around is very difficult. No signs anywhere. It's ridiculous. Elevators go to different parts of the complex, some go to the third floor, some don't. My mother was lost multiple times because of this. No one around to help her find her way led to frustration, crying and defecating in her clothes because she couldn't find her way to her room or get help. After the 3rd day, she wanted to come home. Since I paid up front for the 2 weeks, I asked her to please stay. After her release, they sent in home health care for follow ups. At this point, our family had spoken to and convinced our Mom to give it another try for a longer period of time. She said she would give it another chance. So, a few days before she was to go back, the home care worker from Atria told her "once you leave your home to go to Hamilton House, you're never coming back to your home". That threat scared my mother into not wanting to go. And as my mother put it, "if she said it once, she said it 50 times, your never coming back to your home". This representation of Hamilton House scared my mother into not going. So when I contacted the Executive Director and told him about this, I gave him my Moms number so he could talk to her, reassure her... whatever he needed to do to convince her to come back. My mother said to me "why would I believe him" referencing to his lack of follow through in her respite stay. He did apologize and say that he was sorry for the whole incident. A month later, I was sent a bill for $11,000 for time not spent at this place. I've called and emailed multiple times with no response. Think twice before you consider this place.

Highly Unsatisfied

I was highly unsatisfied with the care that was given to my wife at The Landing of Canton community. The staff was disrespectful and treated my wife in a demeaning manner when trying to calm her down. The staff seemed unqualified and untrained to handle behaviour that is associated with memory care patients. Check often on how many staff members are available when your loved one is eating in the dining room. Check on how they how they help your loved one when using the facilities. I would suggest that if you have a loved one in this facility to check on them often regarding the care they are receiving.

A Disasterous Mistake

We were told that my sister who was experiencing early dementia could live in Life Guidance ( their dementia unit) without the need for an independently hired companion. We were told that in fact no one in the dementia unit had that. It turned out almost everyone in the dementia unit was forced to hire an independent companion at huge expense. The reason for this, they admitted, was due to the severe understaffing.at Atria. Don't expect dementia care or expertise here. It is a facility with a locked door where the staff encourages drugging the residents into a stupor so they will be docile and easy to handle. I atribute much of my sister's swift decline to Atria Hamilton Heights.
