Aviva Senior Living

This is a difficult decision. Research is essential and a place for mom helped give me options for my cousin. He has been at AVIVA for [time frame removed] and comfortable. He has moved into hospice with guidance from AVIVA Thanks for your help.

I love the monthly Calendar. They also have a Facebook page and I get to see my dad doing the activities. They are good to call whenever there is a med change or something different in his routine. When I visit, they are all so Friendly and give me updates. We have a big Family so my dad has plenty of visitors. My Brothers love to take him out for a drive or food. He is always ready and dressed for them. They are always good to ask when he is returning because of his med schedule.

The staff, especially the Activity Director, are great! They seem to go out of their way to make us feel like we count!! We have had a whole week of activities surrounding the movie Jaws, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary of when it first aired!! She's amazing and really seems to care about each and everyone of us! Our rooms are cleaned weekly. We can come and go as we please. I still drive so I can go to church every Sunday. We have different games that we play, some after lunch and others after dinner. Our meals are really the only thing that isn't as good as it should be! I've been told that the meals were much better before the current meal director arrived. All in all, I think I'm living in a very good place!

It's been a great place for my dad. I believe for what he pays a month it may be one of the best values in the Nashville area.

The building is really nice. The apartments are a good size. The staff was friendly, and the price was easily the best in the area.

5 to all, I love this place! One thing is every month they have a family night. Entertainment, and food. It's great when the weather is nice we all go outside. My mom is in the Memory Care Unit and they are well cared for. Also they have an area with tv. They also do puzzles, crafts etc. if there is a medical problem they are well cared for.

I can’t say enough good things about Aviva Hills. My mom was sold on it when she first walked in by the atmosphere and then secondly by the excellent food. They have so many activities for the residence to do and [name removed] gets everybody involved. Finally, the staff are all very upbeat and pleasant to talk to. They are always joking with my mom and she feels very much at home there.

I love them!! The facility is beautiful, and the staff goes above and beyond! The sales manager was unbelievably helpful and he worked with us to get my dad the best possible place for the best possible price. My dad is very particular, and can live independently, he just didn't want the stress of owning a home anymore. He is almost 91!

The Director and Staff are very caring, compassionate and professional. Always open to questions and any concerns.

Second facility for my mom. She is in aviva's memory care- their staff to ratio is great. They know where residents are at all times. It's a smaller unit and they interact a lot with residents. Always appears clean in main areas. Each staff member knows residents by name. Administrative staff is responsive and keeps family updated from change in meds to trip outings.

All would be a 5. Granted my Mother was only there a week due to illness, it was a great facility. We would definitely recommend Aviva Woodlands to other families. While it may seem more expensive, the overall quality and experience is reflected the facility and personnel.

The staff is amazing. They treat everyone with kindness & go above & beyond to be helpful. The entire staff, especially the nurses & aids & the cleaning staff & maintenance staff, interact with each of the residents making them feel like they are at home. I would recommend this facility to anyone. They communicate with the family & take time to explain things.

Actually it is my brother who is at the Aviva Woodlands. It is a facility that provides assisted living. He is in an efficiency apartment which is enough space for him with a small kitchen area with refrigerator and a microwave. He can have a toaster and use of a crockpot. There are cupboards for food storage and dishes. He has a large closet and his own bathroom with walk-in shower. He provides his own TV but cable is provided. He had to provide his own furniture. Three meals a day are provided and available in the dining area. Activities are available to participate in.

Everyone was very welcoming in answering all the questions. Making my dad feel like he was part of a community. Yes, I would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

After touring several facilities, I knew that this was the place. When I retire, I would like to live here. There are daily activities, a constantly rotating menu, and a staff where everyone is smiling and helpful. This facility provides the freedom for the residents to walk out the door which is something that my father-in-law truly appreciates. It has taken a couple of months, but they are acclimating to a new lifestyle.

I visit my aunt at Aviva often. Everyone I have met or talked with, are terrific. I see that staff watches out for the residents, and care so much for them. When entering the building, the first person one sees is [name removed]. What a gem she is! [name removed] knows all the visitors, all the residents and all of the staff members. [name removed] interacts well with everyone and treats everyone with great respect. [name removed] is Aviva. She is a ray of sunshine for all of us!

My father is doing very well. His sugar is under control. with all the legalities going on and getting the guardianship and being a temporary guardian is not easy. The only problem we have is that when we needed a physicians report, nurse practitioner filled it out and we really needed a physician to fill it out for court. My father enjoys it. They have a lot of movie nights entertainment and games. He loves the food and his room is very nice but he’s not very clean so he gets to help. He needs to make sure he is clean and the room is clean since he’s not capable of doing that. They have also something called stages of health, but they don’t have anything in writing what determines the stages, but it does determine how much you pay for care. Overall, I think it is a great place for my father to have an apartment to have a room that locks for the minimal care that he needs at this time.

My mom has been at Aviva Merrillville for about two years and I am positive that she is constantly in great hands. The staff are constantly caring, kind and patient with all residents. Recently, my mother was diagnosed with an ocular ulcer which requires constant care and monitoring. When transportation difficulties were brought up, the Director immediately volunteered to help. Both the Activities Director and Support staff have been making sure that my mom makes it to her appointments and that I only have to miss a half day of work. Additionally, my mother has needed hourly eye drops for the past couple of weeks. The nursing staff has been vigilant about administering them, keeping up with her medications and keeping in constant communication with me and the doctors with any concerns. Due to this expert care, my mom's eye is on the mend. I cannot thank the staff enough for showing such love and kindness to both my mother and myself.

I would highly recommend Aviva Hills. Aviva Hills has knocked it OUT OF THE PARK. The care that my Mother-in-Law has received has been very good. They are very clean & the caregivers make you feel right at home.

My parents are happy there so I would rate each of these five. I am also comparing Aviva to Harbor Chase where my mother-in-law was. My mother-in-law is now at Aviva. The cost is approximately half what Harbor Chase was, and Aviva has much better care.
