It was okay, but they told us that they would have a 99% chance they'd have a palce for him when he was ready to move but when the time came they didn't have one. They thought he might be a risk of wandering and, just one mans opinion, they didn't have a place that would be good for him so by mutual agreement we both backed out. It didn't matter to me where he was just as long as he was happy there, but i would have been fine with him here. Apparently it's a large corporation so we found a local company that had a local touch instead of the corporate attitude.

We were very impressed with that. If I was looking for something that was probably where I would move. The only drawback of that is they only had home health care. It was independent living and they had home health, I'm not sure if it was in house. That probably would not have been what my dad needed.

The staff was very nice. The facility itself was bright and airy. I just thought that sort of added to it. The price was pretty much in line with the rest of the facilities that I looked at. There were some important things that they probably should have said. For Example, they talk about this van that you can take to appointments and to meet people for lunch and things but after my mother moved in they said oh she can't use the van because she's in a wheelchair. They knew that during the sales process but they didn't bother to add that fact in. That kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. My mom was hospitalized and never once did anyone call to ask how she was doing. They called me to work out the billing for when she's not in the room and during that time they still have not asked me how she's doing. The facility was beautiful and the people that work there were very nice in terms of the caregivers but I think the management above that leaves a lot to be desired.

Mom & I met with Lauren on 8/22. Excellent facility, studios are small.

Our loved one was here a very short amount of time; she just ended up needing a higher level of care. The community is very nice and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was decent and they had enough activities for the residents. Everything was fine during the time we were there, we really have not complaints.

It was too cost prohibitive for my brother.

This was one of our top three communities. The top three seemed to be the same to us so we allowed our loved on to choose from them. She did end up choosing another community but we would have been happy with either one. They are a really good community with a very friendly staff.

Not a good fit for mom.The place was too big. Good food service set up. Dining room dark.

The facility, activities and apartment were all attractive but the dining and food program is a bright star for this facility. Also impressive were the individual activity rooms, resident art that was displayed, the strong patriotic feel and respect for veterans-very important for this age group. Claes was very helpful and attentive to any questions we had and we did not feel pressured or rushed.

It was a family owned business and they sold it to atria recently so I don't know yet how that will work out. All I've seen so far is that they aren't going to have independent living anymore and my mom was in a transitional stage and she was moving to independent living, which they aren't offering as many of anymore. The staff has been wonderful, I think their care is excellent and we haven't really had any problems. They've been good mostly about everything, they know everybody's names and they helped my mom a lot. The did have a problem with their ambassador program, they said they were going to assign her to an ambassador and they never really did. The activities seemed really good, sometimes they cancled them and a thing my mom has complained about it that there aren't any acivities going on after 6 but with the transition going on that isn't at the top of our list.

This was my second choice. The only reason I didn't go with Grand Oaks is because there were only five residents in their memory care and the were all so far gone that they were basically asleep in wheelchairs, drooling all over themselves the whole time. My mom has Alzheimers but she is only 68 and I thought she would better time with a larger group of people - that there would be an age range and more activity.

Like the layout

She had her own apartment, everything was decorated and they had a lot of activities. When we went out and searched on our own, we found that assisted living places were very very depressing and just not a good choice. This was expensive but so different from what we thought. Right when you walked in it was very very pretty, they decorated for every holiday, once a month they had a birthday celebration; it took the stress of her havingt o make her own meals away. They weren't monitoring how much she was eating and you either had to get up and get your meals or paid extra to have them delivered; she was eating the same thing as everyone else and no one really paid attention. This was nice though, it was a wonderful, beautiful place, like you were going to a casino in Vegas. it was fine until she fell and then we had to pay more and go up to the next level of care but they were all very nice and very helpful.

We liked it but it was very expensive. It looked really nice but it didn't have the atmosphere that we were looking for - small and homey.

We had a real hard time getting her meds straight and she's giving herself her own meds now but they could not get her meds right. I had written everything down and everyone had a copy of it and they still couldn't get it right. Thankfully shes cognizant so she's aware of when things aren't right but what about people that aren't? We were paying extra for it and it was not very smooth on that end, they did try and we finalyl have things squared away. I had hoped that there would be more trips away and that was the impression that I got on the tour. There are things they do there at the facility but I wish there were more things that they went out and did besides trips to Walmart. It took awhile to get her squared away and the initial orientation didn't go as [removed] she was really lost and an ambassador came by her table that first week saying he would wait for her to get acclimated and he never came back. Its smoother now but the first month and a half/six weeks were rough.

it was a lovely facility, they are going through some heavy indoor reconstruction...so it is a little upside down in there, but they are saying it should all be done by october. There was a little bit of pressure to get my Father in law NOW before the rates go up after the upgrades finish...but ultimately it was too far in Thousand Oaks and he prefers to stay in Vegas.

When I initially started working with my advisor, Shirley, and she set up the initial visit (fall of last year), I met with a gentleman at the time and he followed up with us for several months. When the time came for my father to move in, there was a different person in his position but both were great. There have been a lot of administration changes recently but things have still been fine. Currently my dad doesn't need a lot of care, but what he has been getting is fine and there is a nice variety of activities. I have only had one item of concern that I brought to the attention of one of the administrators and she addressed both my initial concern and my follow-up question right away. I wish there hadn't been a concern but the way she handled it was great!
