I’ve recently had a virtual tour and it’s a very nice community. The staff was very friendly saying hello as we were walking around on FaceTime and the residents the were having lunch looked very happy. The apartment was large and beautifully setup. My parents are looking for something in about 3 years and Atria Tarzana is on top of the list.

Being a part of this community truly feels like I'm at home, not just in the physical sense; but, in a caring and loving way like a simple hello and smile from staff and neighbors. Once when I tripped and fell in the dining room, [name removed], Manager at the time, sat on the floor next to me to make sure I was OK; and, kept me from moving before the Care staff arrived. She also provided covering for me to ease my feeling of embarrassment as others watched with concern; and remained there until the EMTs arrived. This caring and loving action has stayed with me. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I have been protected like home. This is home!!!!!

When we were told that Dad needed to have 24/7 care, the decision to place him in a memory care facility was a very difficult one. We started our search for the right “environment” for him. We looked at many facilities and didn’t realize what we were looking for until we visited an Atria facility. Dad has always been a healthy, strong individual and has always been very independent. We wanted him in an environment where he would be able to thrive, continue to be independent, participate in activities and not feel like he was in a locked unit. Atria had it all. During our tour, we were struck by how spacious the facility was and we did not feel like we were restricted in any way. The location was the only issue and then we were told about Atria Merrimack Place which is a much more convenient location for us. We found that Atria Merrimack Place was about to open their new expanded Life Guidance unit and after touring it, we felt the same way. It’s very spacious and does not feel restrictive. There is a great outdoor interior courtyard which the Life Guidance residents can freely and safely access. The Administration and Staff are incredibly caring and will bend over backwards to make sure the resident’s needs are met. If you have any concerns, they want to know about them and will do whatever is necessary to resolve. The facility is beautiful and clean. We have peace of mind knowing that Dad is being well cared for and is living in a clean and safe environment.

We just moved my Mom in this week after signing the lease about 6 weeks ago. Everyone on the staff has been super friendly and helpful with all of the logistics of the move and during Mom's first week at the Atria. The overall facilities are very clean and nice and her new apartment is great. The staff have been very attentive and accommodating. We believe she made the right move!

My dad has lived at the Atria Tarzana since April, 2019. When he felt the time had come to move to an assisted living facility, we toured a few of them in the valley and a couple in the South Bay (where he previously lived). Unanimously, the Atria in Tarzana was our number one choice. (Even his Rabbi in the South Bay came to visit and she said to him that picking the Atria in Tarzana is a no-brainer!) For my dad, it started with their coffee which he still savors every morning. Two weeks later we helped him move in. From the beginning he has participated in a wide array of activities from exercise classes, to lectures, to theatre and music discussions, poker night on Monday and Friday evenings, and other special events. The staff truly treats you like family. They are so warm, caring and helpful. The dining is top notch. My dad enjoys the various options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, of course. He cannot get enough of their fruit pies and ice cream! Even during this pandemic, the facility goes out of its way to care for all the residents. [name removed] (the Executive Director) is hands on and takes the time to get to know all the residents and their families. You will not be disappointed at the Atria Tarzana!

Atria Tarzana is a high end, top quality senior living community. My mother has lived there for close to 5 years. The initial move was difficult as leaving her home of 60 years is not an easy transition. She has macular degeneration and it was time for her to find a place that wasn't too large where she could meet like-minded people and continue with the activities that she was doing at home. We looked at a couple of senior living facilities in the area before making Tarzana the final choice. The staff goes above and beyond in terms of caring, knowing the residents, help if needed, a great sense of humor and always available. My mother loves living there and it makes me happy and comfortable knowing she's safe and in a secure environment. I must point out that during this pandemic, management has been remarkable! They are taking great care to provide all employees with PPE for themselves and families, careful of who enters the building, temperatures taken and all precautions necessary to keep everyone safe. During this time, the residents have limited contact with each other but the staff is providing engagement and activities for those who choose to participate. Atria Tarzana is a wonderful community for those looking to move to senior living.

I have been very happy living at Atria. They have taken great care of us during the pandemic. The staff is Wonderful. They are kind and helpful and very friendly. I highly reccomend Atria for any senior wanting a superior place to live.

My mother has been living at Atria for a little over two years. It was her decision to move there, and shortly after she moved in, she called and said to me, "I never thought I could be so happy." Since she moved in, her health has deteriorated, and I'm very happy for the care she receives. Anytime anything has gone wrong health wise, they call me. I feel good that they're looking out for her. She also feels very safe there, which is important. The situation under Covid is of course, very different. But she always tells me, "They're doing the best they can." At least we're now able to visit -- outside for 20 minutes. My mom turns 97 on Sunday; they're helping me to arrange a series of 5 minute visits with the family outside. Before Covid, they always had lots of activities. My only complaint is that they need to do something so those who are hard of hearing, even with hearing aids, could hear the speakers and movies. My mom stopped participating because she couldn't hear. I'm sure there must be some kind of technology like they use at museums for visitors to hear the docent. Anyway, over all, Atria is great and the people are truly wonderful and helpful. The place is attractive and clean, and before she moved in, they painted her apartment using the paint I purchased. She wanted pink and lavender, not beige :-). She loves her apartment. She's in a single, which is surprisingly large. I'm really grateful she's there.

My husband and I have lived at Atria Tarzana for four years, and we could not be happier with our choice of this senior community. The caring staff in all departments are wonderful people. The place is immaculate and always smells of fabulous food cooking for dinner or like it was just cleaned with pleasant-smelling housekeeping products. In normal times (pre Covid-19) we have activities all day and evening---entertainment, card games, lectures, Book Club, lectures, etc. During these trying times since March our staff has done their very best to keep us safe and well AND entertained. This is one of the most expensive senior communities in our area, and worth every penny!!

It's been a year since we moved our vivacious 91 year old Mother/Grandmother to Atria Tarzana and we couldn't be happier. More importantly, [name removed] feels at home and safe! She enjoys the staff and her friends (some old, some new). [name removed] room is big and we made it look and feel like her old home. We have seen first hand how kind everybody is the families and guests, but especially these loved ones . Thanks Atria from top to bottom!

As a resident for one and a half years, I have personally acquired the benefits to my health, and my wife's health with a remarkable organization at Atria Merrimack Place. Each of our administrators participates actively in every branch of service that is required in our facility. The net result of their participation results an effective leadership in each department; nursing, restaurant, activities, maintenance. As a result, a whole core of nursing aides wisely selected for their brilliance as students, in like fashion, servers currently serving food in apartments due to the COVID virus effectively get the job done both in serving and educating residents. Our Executive Director [name removed] has continually reported Governor Baker's directives by way of messages and protocol implementation.

Best senior living center I have ever visited. My parents were looking for a place and the staff here really amazed us. As we walked in we were greeted with a smiles, everyone was friendly and ready to tend to all of our needs. My parents are moving in soon and honestly they couldn’t be happier. I’m so thankfully I found somewhere, it’s taken a great pressure off of my shoulders. Keep up the good work!

I’ve have bad experiences with senior homes however management in Atria has been doing an excellent job in making sure my mother is treated with respect and dignity. Thank you for everyone on the staff for helping with this, especially the executive director, for treating my mom as if she were his mom.

I have always had such a positive experience here, the staff is incredible and always willing to go above and beyond whenever we need help. The food is delicious and the care provided is exceptional. The activities they provided made sure my mother was never feeling bored or lonely and she always felt part of the community.

Atria has the most caring staff always so friendly with a smile. They go above and beyond to make their residents feel at home, comfortable, and happy. Another thing that I love about the community is how clean they are! Always spotless. Overall this is an outstanding community great management & wonderful staff!

My grandmother recently moved in and let me tell you- WOW..I am amazed and delighted to see such a clean, friendly and luxurious senior living home. All staff members are helpful and have not seen my grandmother this elated in a while. The food is scrumptious and all the amenities are superb! Thank you Atria! Thank you for allowing me to sleep comfortably at night knowing my grandma is in great care! :)

My wife of 60 yrs. and I moved to Atria in mid November 2016, but her health deteriorated and she died weeks later, Christmas Day of auto immune disease. At age 87, I was distraught and considered moving back to our local condo, but with he help of Atria staff and residents I improved my outlook on life. Sitting at breakfast with a church friend, I noticed her difficulty opening small packs of butter, cream, and sugar. I started opening them for her and others and that opened my eyes to," there but for the grace of God, go I." I saw the needs of people. In June 2017, with the help of two residents, I started a Residents Newsletter featuring bios, poems, history of Newburyport. To date, we have published 18 issues. A weekly Bible group was started with help which has morphed into a virtual Global Meet. I started a Poker group which met 3X a week and which garnered much success until COVID 19 closed it. Since the lockdown companionship has suffered, I feel. We need more contact between people. Too many residents are spending time in their rooms instead of enjoying fresh air,green grass and the change in seasons. I believe this virus will be with us well into 2021 and as such we shall witness despondency grow. I thank God that at age 91, I am thriving and not just surviving. Since 1997, I have written 256 monthly essays for our local Daily News and since at Atria 48. I turned in my car just last week, but while here since 2016, visited every Resident who was in the local hospital or at the local re-habs. Contact with people has been my main objective here because everyone needs some form of help.
