Great care and nice staff

My aunt just moved in to Sutton Gardens the process was very easy and Jennifer was very helpful along the process. I read the reviews everyone is entitled to their opinions but I'm at easy that I can call,text and email and get a response from the Administrator it is not many facilities where this takes place. The staff has been attentive to my aunt and I'm at ease that she is being taking care of with caring staff.

Wonderful Assisted Living where my loved one can age in place. A true family oriented facility. They love their residents and treat them with love and great respect. I recommend this facility to anyone that wants a great caring place. They recently hired an LPN on site to further care for the residents. They are licensed to deal with residents who are non ambulatory, need assistance with feeding and nursing care. Call Jennifer Persaud for a tour. you wont regret.

Sutton Gardens is a lovely place. It is well renovated and unique. My uncle, John lived there. The staff is so friendly and he receives great care. Its one of the only places where they care about the residents. G-D Bless.

Dad liked it here and enjoyed meeting several of the residence. The staff seemed professional and took their time to help residents. I think this is the place for him.

My dad lived there for over two years. Sutton Gardens is a wonderful place. The staff and administration really care about the residents. My dad came out of his shell and participated in all activities and loved the food.Affordable price and even helped us with our VA application. It is truly personal care, not a large warehouse.

The staff is so helpful and caring The place is clean and the sleeping areas nicely kept and decorated They have sing a longs And movies domino and card games I think Bingo might to be good to add Or coloring books? They do a nice manicure too My mom is safe there and I appreciate it.

Very good for it's price. And a cute and personal place. They have friendly staff and pretty good activities.

The staff goes above and beyond to be kind, considerate and accommodating. When I'd visit they would offer to wheel my mom out to the patio. When my mom was gravely ill before passing, they allowed us to stay as long as we wanted, even sleep there overnight. They are easy going without any imposing rules. Also, when I let them know that my mom was not eating her lunch, which was a hot dog, because she doesn't like them and had never had one in her life, they made sure she got something different. And, not just on the one occasion, but every time. I'm not sure why, but my mother stopped advocating for herself, so this was an important accommodation they gave. The majority of the residents were not high functioning, so the thin availability of activities was fine. Sutton always played music, had the TV on in the common area, and had puzzles and games they'd put out after Sunday breakfast. The place is rather bare bones, which worked for our needs. However, I wish there was more routine medical testing/ treatment available. Special strings had to be pulled on a couple of occasions for a doctor to come in to see mom, where the alternative was a trip to the hospital.

[name removed] comes to mind. She was lovely to work with. The staff was accommodating, helpful and took good care of my mother in the final days. You can't ask for more.

I love the level of care, the staff were all personable and kind. Very dedicated to the residents. I wish there were more mentally stimulating activities for the residents.

The place is small, clean and personal. It is well organized. It is cute in my opinion. Staff is friendly. Good service. I am very happy with the place. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood in Flushing with beautiful front yard. Flushing itself is a very convenient neighborhood, it has everything there. So it's like a very quiet Island in very busy and convenien neighborhood.

They're activity director, [name removed] is absolutely spectacular. Some aids I could live without but nurses and managerial staff are superb! I think the # 1 attribute is its size. There's only about 45 residents so the care is very personal and aid to resident ratio is great. Again, the activities coordinator is just wonderful and truly loves and cares for the residents. There is always fun activities going on. She goes above and beyond. The nurse in charge, [name removed], is fabulous. So knowledgeable and efficient and capable and also incredibly kind and truly caring. The girls up front that do admissions and clerical are also incredibly kind and caring as well as efficient & skilled. The only down side I would cite is the food. I'm assuming they use a service same as many others along with public schools maybe airlines and hospitals. I'm not sure but clearly, residents have a variety of health issues and poor food only creates more problems. I suppose if they were more selective in their food service it would raise the cost considerably but many of us would welcome that.

The staff at Rosewood on the Sound are very attentive to the residents as well as their families. I do think that they need to provide more activities for the residents in memory care.

The atmosphere is good. There are a lot of memory care residents here. The residents play bingo, games, reading the newspaper, coloring, and more for activities for the residents to participate in. There are three meals a day served along with snacks. The community allows us to bring in snacks to share with my loved one and the other residents to enjoy. There are also beverages for the residents to enjoy. There is housekeeping each day. The rooms are clean and neat. There is circulating air for the residents to enjoy.

My mother has been at this facility for a couple months now, and I can honestly say it was the best decision ever. From the 1st day of the tour, the administrator made me feel so welcomed. It felt at home, and to top it off my mom made friends during the tour. My mother ended up staying for lunch and didn’t want to leave. The room we have is spacious with its own bathroom, the staff has been so cooperative and communicating with me constantly since i have been away. I will definitely recommend this facility to anyone.

We took a tour with Birchwood Suites and thought that it was a nice place. The reason my loved ones did not choose this facility was because the washers and dryers are not inside of the units in independent living. It is a community area where you do laundry and they did not want that.

We have not been able to go inside the facility due to covid so it is hard to judge. I would prefer they be a little better with communication, I have to follow up with them but they seem like they are quick with their response time. When I have facetimed with her she seems like she is good and well taken care of. She has had both vaccines and I think the facility is fine and with all things covid considered I would recommend them at this point.

Everything is very peaceful nd the people are great.

The only problem is I have tried to call my loved one, and it was hard to find someone to pick up the phone after 11 am. It felt like the wild west. The room is nice and a private room for my loved one. The manager is friendly.
