Anthem Memory Care

Staff: Office staff were all good and responsive. Care: Some caretakers were good. However, because of the condition of my husband's health, he was deemed too hard to lift so quickly became someone that no one wanted to care for. We were paying premium price with no service. They ended up leaving him in bed all the time. Family provided the service. Activities: None interested him. He was bored. Food: He did not like the food so mostly ate the fruit and the desert, when/if they had it. Cleanliness: Was not good but acceptable. Room size: The best part of the whole place. Large enough to be comfortable.

The caregivers that worked with the residence were unfriendly and definitely didn't know who you were when you came to visit. My loved one couldn't do anything for himself and did have some dementia, but most of the time was still with it. In the two weeks he was there they sent him to the hospital five or six times. I had to hire someone else to stay with him at night on top of paying their monthly fee. They lost him one time. Didn't know where he was at, and didn't seem to notice he was missing. We were advised by three doctors from the hospital to move him from the facility. The next facility we hardly had any problems. The place was clean and the rooms were adequate, but staff was very inadequate.

My loved one had a black eye after her first night there. They will not refund any money even when they show a credit is due.

While the facility was clean, the quality of help overall was poor, with individual exceptions. Mom was hospitalized several times for fall injuries which we felt were preventable with elevated staff professionalism (education) and increased staffing levels. It became apparent this company puts its profit over its patient care.

The staff was all nice, respectful, and listened to any concerns we had. Overall, I think they were understaffed. Often times there was no caregiver in the common area with 10 or more residents. If deciding, I'd pay close attention to amount of residents and how many caregivers are present.

Do not pick this one.

The Director seems nice but she is not available and will lie to your face. On weekends and night they are usually under staffed. Most of workers are care givers not CNA's, also not trained to handle memory care people. Many of these places are in it for money not really interested in care of residents. There are some good workers here which is why we stay.

Most of your reviews are at least 3 or more yrs. old plus monthly prices are much higher than listed. My husband was at Highline Place from [date removed]. For the first yr. his care was adequate, and he enjoyed all the activities. They started loosing their good, experienced care givers because their pay isn't very good. Replaced by more inexperienced staff that didn't go out of their way to interact with residents, just did what they had to do. Activities became more limited, ones listed on the monthly calendar didn't always happen. Nursing and therapy staff communication on how he was doing was very limited, especially as his Alzheimer's progressed. Emails, questions were not always answered, always needed to ask for a care conference every 3-4 months. Decided his needs were not being met and moved him to another memory care center where his care was so much better.

My Mom and sister were the ones who toured Autumn Leaves and they were not impressed. They felt like it seemed understaffed and the person who did the tour did not seem very knowledgeable and couldn't answer their questions.

The staff seem to care. But their hands are tied. If there's an incident, they don't have a nurse there that decides whether or not to send your loved one to the ER or hospital. They would put it on me to come in and make that decision. And it wasn't at all what I expected.

Our loved one has now been at CP over 2.5 years. We used to think we had found the perfect place, but all that changed about 6-8 months ago. There were changes to the top levels of management, and when the "new regime" took over, CP was a very different place. Many of the compassionate, talented professionals who weathered the worst of the pandemic storm, began leaving when the "new regime" came in. Those caregivers who were the most-loved by both residents and family members, were leaving in droves. Then families started removing their loved ones. There was never enough staff on site, and hose that did show up were so-overworked trying to do the jobs of those that didn't show up, they soon became disillusioned and they also left. This is a fairly expensive, private pay facility, and there are many other facilities to consider for similar amounts.

This community is not highly recommended. The food is does not seem appealing to my mom. They do not offer her activities to keep active. The community is clean, but she is not happy here at this time.

From the outside it all looks good. Clean and friendly staff but once your family member is in, the communication stops. They make changes to medications and don't keep family informed and doctors don't return phone calls. When mysterious bruises show up they have several different answers of what happened.

Staff does not ensure residents needs are being met as far as hygiene is concerned. This is a memory care facility, residents have dementia and dont know or remember to brush teeth, shave, and shower. I live out of town and everytime I go visit my relative his hygiene is deplorable.

Autumn leaves is a new place and very nice inside. The care is not up to par. They are short on the weekends and at night don't have many caregivers on staff. Also there is no nurse or doctor on staff if an emergency happens. People who do laundry loses it and does not find it. IF you text or place a call you do not get a response. But you can judge for yourself.

I was not impressed with this facility at all. When we went to go tour the rooms didn’t have carpet, the only had overhead lights, and the rooms just felt cold and empty. It is a smaller facility with only 30 people. The woman who gave us our tour was very nice and she really liked to talk. Unfortunately, when we asked questions, she wouldn’t answer clearly and was vague about everything. She just seemed too chatty. The other thing that bothered me was I mentioned to her twice that my Mother had a hard time walking and that she needed a wheelchair. She never once acknowledged it or offered anything. I would not recommend this facility unless things change.

On the tour we were assured of safety for our loved one, 2 snacks a day, daily baths, a doctor &/or PA who visited weekly, total supervision of medicines and dispersement of meds in a timely fashion. What happened in reality, the place was understaffed. Residents were "encouraged" to stay in the common area for ease of control. Rather than the quiet, calm scheduled environs we expected, our parent stayed exhausted from being in the noise, chaos, activity area all day. I saw snacks come out on one occasion, lemonade was the standard beverage. Fluids were not pushed as needed. Urinary Track Infection and dehydration were problems during the stay of our loved one. As for personal hygiene, my parent once went five days without a bath or shampoo. Clothing, linens were lost in the laundry process and never found. Finally, it was three weeks before my parent was "accessed" by the PA. We never met the doctor. The floor nurses were to dispense meds. Usually this occurred as directed, but there were instances when they were given "as needed" rather than as prescribed. One med was not given at all. I was happy overall with the efforts of the staff, however, the administrators were invisible especially director of nursing. Had there been more coordination, supervision, & communication perhaps our experience would have been more positive. The facility is beautiful. The salon, spa, etc are first rate. However, I would not recommend Clarity Pointe, Fayetteville for the reasons stated above.

Staff was kind, but not enough staff to handle the care of so many patients. Food was ok, but my mom gained 60lbs in 7 months. The room was clean mostly, but they never helped her hoarding issues. They didn't have time to work individually with her to get her to shower or investigate why she wasn't showering. Turns out her bath mat was too slippery, so she was afraid. Administration lacked professional knowledge and unfamiliar with their own policies and practices. The whole place was like a holding facility rather than one with care. Staff never did anything unless asked by a family member. When these issues were addressed with corporate level management, response was blame admin rather than look at the way they staffed programs. Lots of issues, would not recommend.

Be careful to review your loved ones food and care - food is below average for the price of care which essentially is being paid to lock residents in - hard to get outside to courtyard - my mom found pills on the floor in hallway - better places available !
