Busy dangerous street.

Well if resident is someone who wanders off or want to take the bus for independence, this place is located on busy street. Past three years have had issues with residents that wonder off to neighboring businesses and confused about where they are going. No crosswalk to cross busy street. [removed]

dementia unit

Connerton was very pretty and the staff was wonderful. However, there were issues. The rooms in the dementia unit were not kept clean. The bathroom always smelled of urine. There was no access to a locked outside garden for residents to get some air. Visitors did not have a code to leave the unit. I ended up taking my husband out.

Fooled by the shine

While it is a beautiful facility with much potential, the Memory Care Unit is severly lacking. One person monitors all the residents. This single person is to do the laundry, serve and clean up after the meals, shower and toilet all the residents. The meals are brought in from the main dining room on a cart and are usually cold by the time they are served. While there are scheduled activities in the attached assisted living wing the Mem. Care residents can go to, they aren't appropriate activities for them. There are zero planned group activities or mental stimulation gear towards their needs. As I said, it's a beautiful facility and the tour was wonderful... we were so excited but were severly disappointed by the reality of the day to day goings on in tbe Memory Care Unit.

Don't be fooled!

This place is very clean. The working employees are dedicated, loving individuals. Biggest Problem: Never more than one at a time with very little employee retention. My Aunt has been there since 1/2018 already looking for another place. Management is not friendly nor engaging with residents. Residents are promised certain services that continue to change or disappear. The day of move [removed] a week ahead), floor in apartment was not finished, apartment was not clean, air conditioner was not working properly, bathroom around the sink: still not repaired. We had to go looking for pendant, key, and toilet paper. Many promises, no follow through. Awful.

Concerns on Care

We did not like this community. The staff did not return repeated calls before the imminent move-in, which we took to be a sign of either disorganization or lack of adequate staff, and ultimate lack of customer care. While the community was clean, and offered the usual activities, the care was impersonal without demonstration of rapport and compassion. We could not recommend the Angel Senior Living community at Connerton Court in Land O’Lakes, Florida

Residents' phones haven't worked for a month now! Receptionist screens calls; no way to get past her to talk with someone in charge! Caregivers are kind but seem to be under a lot of stress. Food quality has gone downhill in the past year. Example: simple sheet cake for desserts, using liquid eggs instead of fresh (no eggs to order any more). The facility still looks new & kept up.

No Basic Care at The Lodges at Idlewild by Angels Senior Care

The basics are not met in memory care at the Lodges. My mom has gone into the hospital 4 or 5 times due to dehydration and UTI over and over while in the lodges care (or lack of).. They do the bare minimum and most staff do not speak english and all the patients are english speaking so cannot even ask for their basic needs or ask for help. The staff cannot converse with them which is greatly needed in memory care and in general Angels senior care seems more concerned about the money than anything. I put my mom there as there was a fabulous director and memory director when she was first there but now under [name removed] direction 5 memory directors have quit, there is no basic care of helping patients clean, brush teeth, changing, and absolutely no oversight as to what the staff is doing as it's a closed giant room. It's currently being investigated and may get better for a while but if it stays under [name removed] direction will surely go back down as he does not care.

NOT GOOD

We had our Aunt there for 8 months. We were promised many things, but it seems the HUGE staff turn over makes consistent care difficult. So disappointed and very traumatizing to have to move her . She is a happy in a new place, but still very upset that Angels never addressed our concerns.

Service has gone down hill

I have a parent in the Angels at New Tampa. It was pretty darn good at move in. They went from a selection of two entrees for dinner to no selection. Hot dogs are often on the menu. Services change with no notice to staff or clients. Med service isn't consistent with timing. Seems to be a lack of thought to changes in staff roles and duties on residence. Laundry pick and who does what has gone from outstanding to poor.

I was disappointed that I made an appointment and they did not expect me. They accommodated me and took me around, something was not communicated. I made arrangements to have an assessment for my aunt when she was in rehab. They did not get back with me in a timely manner. I had to find out thru someone else she was not accepted. The facility was fine but it was not a good experience.

there was no one to greet me at the reception desk. Staff did not smile or ask if they could help us. Katie [Removed] was wonderful and showed us the facility when she got there. The clients were wandering around unescorted out of the building and the one lady we were talking to in the lobby was delusional. Memory Care unit smelled of urine and there was not adequate staff for the patient load if you ask me. I did not like the staff interaction and there was no smiles or hugs. Medications were handed out willy nilly as the patients came out of rooms odd. Would possibly consider the new facility being built at Idlewild but it will not be open until July.

Please Dont Send your Loved one here.

I have had no good experience with my resident here. Very UNDER STAFFED and unorganized. NO compassion in the entry level caregiver (Not Certified) Resident Aides they have caring for your loved one. The Ambiance is captivating. That is nothing compared to the care that is received when you become committed to their community. If you request to speak to [Name removed], you will be told she is in a meeting and will call you later, quite contrary to the service you get when your becoming a resident. Calls are returned promptly and the staff is courteous. It is all a SHOW to get you to commit your loved one to the facility. I have sat numerous times with my parent after pressing the alert button for assistance and have waited OVER 1 hour for assistance. While peeking out the door to see the Residents Aids outside the halls on their Cell Phones. I have walked past MED CARTS with residents Medications in clear sight and no Staff visible. Its very promising in the beginning but it all fades after a few short weeks/months. My parent has been left without showers numerous times, forgotten to be taken to the Diner for meals, used double diapers so the aide doesnt have to change them often, Given more meds then taken daily and when asked why so many, is told just take your meds or I will report you are refusing. :( The list goes on..... After OUR family visiting it is so sad this is the way it is. If you are able to dedicate your time 100% by visiting daily, and like the constant battle to make things right then by all means, If you are looking for a piece of mind, FIND ANOTHER FACILITY. THIS PLACE IS so commercialized, instead of feeling like a family its more like a NUMBER system and you will be lucky if your number gets called,

Care in that facility was unacceptable

My father had been living in Angels Senior Living in New Tampa for 1 year and 8 months. I am very upset because the care in that facility was unacceptable and not at all caring or even what I was helping to pay for. My father's room and bathroom were never cleaned. They would not wash or change his bedding unless I pushed and asked. Upon moving him out of the old facility, the family that I had available to assist in the move noted that the room reeked of urine and other foul smells, as if he was left neglected and unattended to by the staff. It had looked as if the last time it was cleaned was when I, myself came in and cleaned the room when he moved in. Even to see the house doctor I had to take multiple steps for hours at a time to get anything done. Contacting the administrators was outright impossible, as no one was ever available as they were “always in meetings” for seemingly days at a time. I moved my father out of that location and over to another Assisted Living Facility. When I returned the key for his old room to the Angels' facility, I specifically asked the receptionist if there was anything further that I needed to take care of, such as documentation of his transfer. I was informed at that point in time that everything was taken care of and I had nothing else left to do. No release paperwork was completed nor was his medication transferred to the new facility, or even released to me to take to the new facility. As a result of this negligence, I had to temporarily remove my father from the new assisted living facility as he had gone 2 days without his medication and was suffering from debilitating medical issues, forcing me to bring him to Hospital in order for him to receive proper treatment. This was further compounded by Angels’ staff absolute refusal to see me for multiple hours to assist me and release my father medicine. Additionally, part of my Father’s medication is a narcotic. According to the new facility that I have him placed in regarding narcotic medication, a detailed record of the medication including amount and dosage must be maintained at all times by law. No such documentation existed for his medication at the Angels’ facility.
