Aster Place is beautiful, my apartment is just wonderful but the atmosphere is just not what I was expecting. The activities are still pretty limited and when I have gone to the activities I have been disappointed. There is not much communication, and maybe that is because I live in a cottage away from the main building but I feel ignored. Whenever I have questions I am not sure who to call so I wish they could hand out a staff directory or something.

Meal service is a disaster. Long waits-quality of food is poor-not sure they are really catering to desires with residents. During COVID lockdowns-some meals not even received. Lack of communication between staff and clients improve not needed.

General Manager very pleasant. Only 16 rooms - place much too small for socially active Mom!

Seems ok, but nothing like Magnolia Springs Southpointe. Thought we had a tour scheduled already.

This facility, while owned by the same company as Rosegate, is not as well maintained. I noticed that the grounds as well as the inside of the facility look worn and tired. The price is lower here and the staff seemed equally friendly.

I was impressed with this community's assisted living portion of the community, but the memory care side wasn't very impressive. Their memory care portion was underground, and down a long hallway, and I didn't feel that would work for my brother, and his needs.

We toured this community for our mother, and her needs. Our tour went well, everyone was very kind. The community looked nice, and well maintained. The staff was friendly, and helpful. This was one of our top picks for our mother, but we did find another community that suited our needs better.

The community as a whole is clean, but the individual rooms could be tended to more often. There needs to be more variety of activities especially for the residents who have hearing issues. Promises are also not being followed through, they had said upon move in there would be 3 meals a day and snacks available 24 hour and there are no snacks.

This place is great overall. My loved one is very happy here and we are glad we chose it.

Most employees are friendly and nice. Slight odor in hallway. Maybe shampooing would help. I like the food. It would be nice not to have to put the cup in the air, sometimes I just give up.

Nice facility and staff. A little costly for what we were looking for, but location was good. Facility gives off a bit of a nursing facility vibe. May prove difficulty in adjusting for someone looking for a little more independence.

I think, overall, Rosewalk is a decent facility. I think my mom feels safe and secure, which is huge. One area that concerns me is the quality and availability of food items. If you don't get there early, (4pm for dinner), they run out of entrees, desserts, just about everything. The food is frequently served cold, whether it be meat or a frozen waffle barely unfrozen. Frequently on weekends, they will have run out of any kind of pastry, muffin, English muffin, etc. for what we are paying, there should be other options than toast. Another area of concern is that in the evening, the front door is locked at 7 p.m. This is fine in regard to safety, but I have experienced myself and witnessed others standing outside and waiting for someone to open the door. It has been cold and dark (think about the weather this winter), and literally elderly people are waiting for 10-15 minutes to get in. They rely on the 3rd floor nurses to come down and open the door, and either they are busy or not very expedient. Overall, I think people are nice and attentive, especially the LPN's and aides.

My aunt was here and my mom was here for three or four years before her. In fact, my mom was one of the first people enrolled. When my mother was here it went very well then my mom passed away and my aunt was still there, she had a couple of issues here. They found her on the floor all beat up and she was taken to the emergency room before we got there, we never knew what happened and they didn't know either. They said she had fallen and hit furniture but we were a little weary after that. We did notice my aunt was worsening, she was in assisted living when they decided that she should go into the alzheimers unit after that incidident but they gave us 24 hours to either move her in or leave and we didn't think that was considerate. It was very good to my mother but my mother didn't have any mental problem so she was able to tell us what was happening.

Was good, but didn't think it was good for Mom at all and wasn't really sold on it for Dad.

Very nice but concerned about socialization, and getting to the dining room in bad weather. We did not get to eat there, so don't know about the food.

My mother was only here for three weeks, it's skilled nursing. The sotry [removed] my mom has ms and my dad had pancreatic cancer and he was in the process of trying to get medicaid for her but he passed before he could do that so we needed to find a place for her. I wasn't a big fan of this place, the smell. It had that nursing home smell and she hated having a roommate and I was there a lot at dinner time and I didn't feel like, not just my mom, but that any of them were getting waited on fast enough.

My comment would be: Assisted Living is ok if your loved one doesn't need any individualized attention to their needs and has minimal dementia behaviors. Memory Care is an absolute disaster unless your patient is placid and docile. The limited staff and administrators have no tolerance, training, or understanding for falls or advanced dementia behaviors. If you love them, find a more suitable facility at the beginning rather than risk getting "dumped" when your family member needs care most.

Hopefully new ownership, new management, new caregivers will improve everything. I haven't seen improvements yet so at the moment we would not recommend this community to other families.

Beech Grove Meadows and Garden Homes is slow to respond to maintenance issues. It took 3 months to fix a shower valve, missing backsplash and two weeks to get a trash collection can. Mom wants to look for another place to live. Turnover of helpers has been an on-going issue here. The maintenance crew it not good at following up or resolving problems. They lack basic skills. They over-promised and under-delivered which is common.

The tour guide was cold and she didn't interact with the residents during the tour. The community felt dark.
