The Canopy has a particular staff member that my mom has grown very attached to. Her name is [name removed] and she is the activities director and she is simply amazing. She genuinely cares for all the residents and has so much passion for what she does. When she walks in the room the residents faces light up. They truly enjoy the time they spend with her and she enjoys the time she spends with them. She’s so thoughtful and kindhearted and makes each of them feel special. My mom truly misses her when she has her days off. Other staff members that have been amazing are [names removed]. It helps knowing that these amazing staff members not only care for my mom but look out for her when I can’t be there. I know she is loved at the Canopy and she loves living there. The atmosphere is very family-like, as if they are like an extended family. I’m so glad I moved mom here.

I am in this Community weekly and have had the best experience with everyone. The staff and residents are always cheerful and engaged. They genuinely care about the residents and their wellbeing. The new Executive Director is committed to seeing the community grow and residents enjoy this beautiful stage of their lives.

My dad is currently a resident at Canopy at Walden Woods. It is a Clean facility, well maintained, great activities and the food is delicious… but what makes this place is the staff! So kind, caring and welcoming… they truly make it feel like home! I am especially grateful to [name removed], the Activities Director, [name removed], the receptionist, [name removed], who is one of the nursing aids… and to [name removed] and [name removed], the kitchen staff. They are like angels and go out of their way to make each resident feel loved. The only suggestion I would make is to have more staff at night. [name removed], the receptionist, would make an excellent staff member to be available 24/7… as sort of a “House Mother”… because she is very mature and the residents love and trust her… and she would be extremely helpful if needed at night! Other than that, I give Canopy five stars!

Allegro community feels like home. The staff is extremely patient. Everyone is friendly. I have been to other facilities that have a urine smell. Allegro doesn't smell. They make sure it us clean. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Walden Woods now has in house care with [name removed], which makes it very easy for me. My mom is moving from out of state and does not have a local doctor. [name removed] made it easy for me. Beautiful community, all the amenities we are looking for, and doctors in house. Thank you Walden for making a hard process as easy, and seamless as possible

The building is extremely clean and staff is very welcoming. Residents were out enjoying a cup of coffee from the coffee bar or some were participating in Bingo in the activity room. Nice home like feel.

This was my 2nd tour at Walden and met the new team! It was amazing. What a difference. From the Sales person Rachel, all the way up to the Executive Director, [name removed]! The residents were happy and engaged. The food smelled so good and The feel of the building is totally different and uplifting. I’m happy I gave it a second chance, you should too! Great job Walden and keep up the good work!

From my initial visit and throughout the entire move in process, the staff listened, answered my many questions, and were always prompt with responses. The move in process went very smoothly. My dad was evaluated by the nurse upon arrival. I don't receive much direct communication since move in, but I do have the app that I can look at. Housekeeping comes once a week and is efficient. Laundry is handled well. The meals are good and they offer a wide variety to suit the residents. The dining room staff are very courteous and provide whatever is requested. I would definitely recommend Allegro for Assisted Living.

Staff is very friendly and attentive to family member's needs. Their attention to detail stands out compared to other facilities we have had experience with. For respite, there is typically, a two week minimum stay, but they worked with us on the minimum stays because of the number of stays we will be meeting in the future. I would recommend Alto Grayslake to other families looking.

If loved one is going into memory care ask what you can have in the room.

Alto Wheaton was very nice based off of what we saw during our tour experience there. The room that was available looked out onto equipment (air conditioning, etc.) which I thought was not a nice view, but my mom probably would have liked it since it did not look out onto other apartments.

We toured Allegro at Harrington Park when searching for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility was great! The staff was nice. However, it was a bit too fancy for our loved one.

My loved one is a resident at Allegro Richmond Heights. The staff and residents are friendly at this facility. The housekeeping is very good and the place is very clean and nice. My loved one enjoys the food and the activities. My loved one being able to see the house doctor at the facility is great. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

We picked this community, because of the location. It's a beautiful place, the food was good, and the people are friendly. I would recommend this facility to other families.

Great clean facility. Love the different activities, especially the men's club for my dad. Like like the personal touch that many of the care for caregivers give. Would recommend to anyone.

So our loved one was only there for two weeks before she had passed, but the staff members there were very attentive towards our loved one. Based on the experience we had, we would recommend Allegro Richmond Heights to other families.

Its hard to know when or where or even how to place your LO when its time. I suggest checking a few places but have to say The Canopy at Hickory Creek is a family. Everyone looks out for each other. The staff is amazing, informed and always able to help. There's always something to do or someone to talk to. My suggestion is to call and have a tour with DeShea Grimm... You will be happy that you have this place as an option.

I guess trying to find the right fit. Meaning size of the facility, (number of residents, staff to resident ratio), location to outside businesses (grocery store, shopping, restaurants) if family wanted to take their loved one for an outing, or if the facility took residents to grocery or to Walmart etc.). What type of care level their family member needs (help with medicine, bathing, dressing, etc.) Need to clarify some remarks. Since staff turnover, has been inconsistent with laundry and cleaning of apartments. When head chef quit, was hard for remaining staff to provide same level of quality, but consider it a learning curve while new chef gets settled in. The activities director is really good and engages the residents as best she can. Wish there were more options for group exercising. My brother has Parkinson's so movement and exercise are key to maintaining flexibility and strong muscles. Any time I have concerns or questions, they are responded to quickly and I think we have developed a good working relationship. Hope this helps. I have no prior experience in assisted living.

It is a very good community and I highly recommend it. The staff is very easy to talk with. They answer your questions, and they say they give the people a lot of love and take real good care of them.

We give Allegro Richmond Heights the highest ratings in all categories. What we really like about the community is the staff, the management and the food is incredible. The people who work there love it and it shows. My mom is so happy there. Based on the experience we have had so far we would highly recommend this community to other families!
