My loved one is currently a resident at HarborChase at Evergreen Walk and the overall experience has been okay. The cleanliness and the meals are good. The friendliness, staff and care services are okay.

It was nice to find a place for dad to stay on short notice even though it was short. Staff was friendly, not sure if English was the first language or not. Amenities that were discussed before dad coming were not available and the staff didn’t know where it was or if it existed when we asked about it (whirlpool tub). For reference, it’s in the memory wing on the second floor and you have to schedule use (not readily available for everyone.) That said, dad passed on day 3 of his stay. Our experience was limited. After dad’s passing the manager did bring dad’s original check back for 2 weeks and we wrote a check for the days he stayed. I thought it was a nice gesture on their part vs going through refunds on a prorated basis.

We picked it based on the environment and fresh atmosphere. Hopefully, things improve with communication between family members and staff.

We toured Allegro when searching for an Independent Living facility. Overall, this facility seemed good. Everything appeared to be nice and clean. However, they have a lot of staff turnover, which is not good. I decided to continue on with my search.

Alto Wheaton was nice, clean and newish. The rooms were VERY small and the overall feel of the place was more institutional and less homey than other places we toured. More than any of the places we toured, Alto felt like the same place we were coming from. We weren't convinced that my mom would get the individualized attention that she needed here.

The people we met on our tour of Anthology were great. But I didn't like that their memory care unit was on an upper, rooftop level. So you took the elevator up and basically didn’t come back down, which was a concern. Memory care lacked green space to go walking. (I don't consider astroturf to be green space.) They did have a rooftop patio the residents could go out on, but I just wanted more outdoor space for my loved one to move around. Activities were also a concern.

I toured this facility. It's fancy, but the set up/taking an elevator wouldn't have worked for my dad.

This was a nice community. It was felt a little too small and didn't have the grounds we wanted for our loved one.

It was a great tour experience but was too glitzy, and not for us.

It ws more expensive, and the residents did not seem as happy.

We got the impression that they told residents that were in the lobby that we were coming to tour and telling them to act happy. It just seemed forced and fake.

The hallways were very long at this community and I felt like this would be an issue for my loved one. They also had keys to get into the room and with motor issues that would not work well for my loved one. If an emergency happen it just seemed like it would take a long time for help to get to them.

We thought Allegro was beautiful. It was a really nice place. But they didn't have the layout we wanted, and it was more expensive.

We have had some issues with the care, there was a point where 4 of the main caregivers were out with covid and I was not happy and there have been some communication issues. The care is just now coming back to where it was before. I do wish the staff members were more encouraging and could get my mom out and doing some more activities. Overall I recommend them with some reservations, just make sure you look into it and talk with more than 1 staff member.

Our family was able to do an in person tour, but it was in the evening so we did not see a lot of activities going on and there were still some restrictions. However we did get to see a lot of the community, but the value for cost was just a little higher than what we were looking for.

We think the consistency with the care services has been a little bit of an issues. Our loved one has some physical disabilities and some dementia and we do not believe there has been any accommodations for her or anything activities geared towards our loved one. Also the communication could be improved between the management and the families as well as the director of health and wellness and the families.

S MANY TIMES I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE MANAGER AND SOCIAL LADY ABOUT THE MOVIES HERE. SO MANY TIMES THEY CANCEL AT THE LAST MINUTE WITHOUT NOTICE. ALSO THE MAJORITY OF MOVIES HERE WHEN THEY SHOW IT, ARE MOVIES ABOUT WAR AND ARE VERY DIPRESSING. I HAVE ASKED FOR COMEDY, ROMANCE, OR MUSICALS. I WAITED A WHOLE YEAR TO MOVE HERE AND I AM VERY SAD THAT I HAVE STUCK IN MY ROOM BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF ENTERTAINMENT. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS AN OLD OLD AGE HOME AND I AM JUST WAITING TO DIE

Look past the facility and ask the hard questions about the staff and the care that your loved one with be receiving at this community. I would not recommend this community to others.

Lovely place, and caregivers seemed kind and dedicated, friendly. Not right for my mom... activities were centered around games and my mother would prefer more lectures and discussion, as a retired university professor. Got the impression it would be like living in a casino. My husband would love it but not my mom.

My parent has lived in this facility since it opened. For the most part, things have gone well. But there have been some real problems with communication with what is going on. Specifically, there have been many changes of staff that have gone unannounced, and details with my parent such as when showers have been given, if and when a flu shot was given, and a salon date that was desperately needed but didn’t happen before a family event. I would love to say all is great, but struggling with this communication issue.
