I would not recommend this agency for anyone.

The lady that comes here likes to knit/crochet whatever it is that she does. Which gives me concerns of how she may help my loved one when she’s busy doing her stuff. She is very friendly and likes our pets.

High turnover rate in the beginning of service. At one point 8 caregivers in 7 months

Had other issues as well, although my sister is not the easiest of clients. Some of the staff has handled it well though. Billing problems are caused by the new electronic billing company and their fees are outrageous.

The agency had sold its business at this review. Struggle to match staff to client medical, psychosocial needs was difficult, but they persevered w prompt access n coverage. Family/ proxy services needed to be ready to detail extensively client communication expectations as the extent of agency upfront assesssmnt and preparedness for extent of clinical supervision of staff and Case management coordination seemed needed. Changes in the staff payment and agency transition was not communicated. However , they readily offered more cost saving ways to manage agency care and provided billing reports to the long term care provider upon request. The struggle managing a client across physical and behavioral systems of care and the strategic training and supervision of home care staff and family / advocates as team partners seems acute. Our loved ones are at high risk. This agency did not survive. Families , ombudsmen preparedness is critical.

Assisting hands used a lot of young caregivers that was caring for my wife. They used my note pad and left unusual messages left on the table. Light cleaning was neglected and didn’t tidy up things that my wife made a mess with.

Not always reliable and some of the caregivers don't do much. I need a dependable company to care for my mom who is bedridden a lot. Can't depend on the caregivers to show up sometimes to the point where I am ready to look for a new company. They are there four hours in the morning and 4 hours at night. There is not a lot to do but the few things they could be doing goes undone sometimes. I feel like they are probably on their phone when she is sleeping.

My parents have passed away so this is based on my past experience. Some staff were kind and knowledgeable. Others were borderline negligent, not changing catheter bags at the end of shifts or not being thorough with cleaning after bowel movements. Some interacted with my dad and seemed to respect him as a person as his mental faculties were fine. Others hung out in the kitchen and weren't even in ear shot when he called. My mom who was in a wheelchair had to go into the kitchen to tell the caregiver my dad needed help.

The first caregiver was not suited to effectively assist my spouse/her client regarding his dementia. Second caregiver has just begun and seems more in tune with my spouse's needs and wishes. CareCo manager professionally handle this situation.

Since hiring Brazos, we have had many changes in caregivers. My father has dementia with aggression. We were assured they had people experienced in handling patients like this. Truth is they did not. Whenever they do get someone who can handle my father, they don't seem to last long. In the last 6 months my father's health has deteriorated with him ending up in hospital numerous times. Trying to get information from Brazoz is like pulling teeth. They claim it's because my father doesn't want them talking to me, even though I am the one paying them for their services. Recently they went ahead and authorized 24-hour care, after me telling them we had to cut back from 12 hours to the original 6 they were hired for. I have spoken to the office manager as well as the owner of the company about the lack of communication, to no avail. This is extremely frustrating for me because I am also caregiver for my brother who has Parkinsons and I just recently had knee replacement surgery.

Mostly they just sat and with my mom and either watched tv or was on their phones my mom was picky and didn’t like me to leave her and didn’t let them change her the company was amazing with having availability and when I couldn’t make it home one time they reached out and found someone else to come so I was able to stay at my sons tournament

My only problem with this company is that they don't pay their caregivers enough for what they do. I also wish they would do at least 2 home visits a year just to check on the clients they serve. Their caregivers don't get PTO (paid time off), no dental insurance, or any health benefits.

They don't get temporary replacements as they promised during the interview. Twice CAREGIVER's cancelled no one else replaced them. I had to call to find out I wouldn't have a caregiver 2 separate weekends. I was told during my interview that I would always have coverage. Caregivers are great.

Generally good experience Pleasant and helpful. Sometimes a bit too talkative. Unfortunately felt I couldn’t completely trust person. One of helpers used my perfume. I smelled it in the air even though I haven’t used any perfume in years. Makes me wonder what else the person did while I was sleeping. Also took two calls to get my deposit back.

At first we were happy with Cornerstone, but after 5 weeks with them things are not so rosy. We had hoped for regular care givers to stay on a fixed schedule to generate familiarity, but this has not happened as 3 girls and 1 male have been released either by us or the agency. They sent a male out to care for my mother without asking first if this was acceptable, it was not. Then most recently, we are finding items missing from the home such as electronic charging cables that none of the care givers seem to know where they went, but were used by at least 1 care giver. There is other evidence of drawers being opened and items moved around in rooms that should not be entered by Cornerstone personnel. There have been billing overcharges as well. We are very uncomfortable with this agency at this time.

She did work with us in providing fewer hours than they normally provide on a weekly basis, however, each 1 hour visit (2-3 per week)is now $[removed] instead of the [removed] per hour she originally quoted. I don’t remember her telling us this up front. Just not sure if I’m getting my money’s worth!

The first contact with [name removed] care went very well- they were able to jump right in to solve an immediate need. The first months was great, second month had a few hiccups but by the third month they were definitely slacking off. Sadly we are once again searching for reliable service from other sources.

Uncle is an ultra-conservative old-fashioned 86 year old. He was just barely willing to consider a home health care aid, as long as it was a man. Sending him a man covered in tattoos was probably not a real good match. And now he has indicated that he doesn’t want any home health care aids coming to his home again. We can’t help but wonder if the outcome might have been different if there had been a better match.

Care givers in general have been decent but we have had a few who needed more training.

Several times the caregiver not showing up at times was not told to the patient or their families, not attempt to send someone else in their place. Also their new caregivers may have attempted to accept gifts from their patients which is not allowed.
