They have a very good staff that is able to deal with difficult situations better than the pervious home that my mother lived in.

Slightly more personal care than necessary at this point. Over the top for medical and personal care and security.

We had a bit of rocky start here, but they've been very good about working with me to improve things for my loved one. I'd say when we first started I would have had to rate them 1/5, but after a lot of hard work we're up to about 4/5. It's an older building, but they try hard to keep everything looking clean and well kept. Another thing I think is important to mention about them is that they don't kick their residents out when the money runs out, which is admirable.

This facility is very nice, the building and grounds are attractive, the care provided is good, and their prices for a private room were affordable. I feel like there is some room for improvement with the care, however. There have been times I have visited and while she had clothes on the staff had not bothered to put her underwear on. Also, the building itself can be a bit confusing to navigate.

Staff was very personable. Most of the facility was neat and clean. The are renovating areas which are showing signs of age. The new wing of the facility has an available large room which can facilitate 2 twin beds and maybe moms full size and dads twin. Can use their furniture or own. Kitchenettes and bathroom attached. Common rooms are found at end of each hallway. That was nice. If don't want to stay in room or go downstairs to large common room area. Courtyard available on lower level for sitting outside. Was well maintained. One of the owners, Basima is a RN, very nice and friendly and knows all of the guests. Next to Giant grocery store which is a short walk away. Near the South Mall, Allentown. Added bonus, close drive for me!

Liked it overall. Staff and owners were very nice; spoke with some residents. Not crazy about shower not being in room. Liked enclosed courtyard and resident pet greyhound.

My brother and I took a tour with director yesterday. This place has Wanderguard outside of a dementia unit. I submitted this selection to our attorney.

very nice assisted living and more. they have activities and the staff is very nice and the owners are great. my mother had alzheimers and staff is experienced in caring for people and was very kind i'm glad i found this place. the facility is very clean and the food was very good

That was more of a building atmosphere than a home like atmosphere. It was a more traditional, bigger assisted living. They said there would be no adjustment in rate which was good. It was nice but now I'm realizing that she was considering my mom for the assisted living when really she would need the memory care. She didn't show us the memory care unit so I don't think it would have worked out anyway.

My sister really likes it there a lot and I do think that they could use some more qualified help for all the people they have there.

Our experience with Abode of Allentown had many positive aspects. The director was responsive and communicative, and the staff we interacted with were friendly and compassionate in their day-to-day care of my mom. The nurses seemed both skilled and caring. Transportation was relatively easy to schedule for outside appointments and the driver was great with residents. My mom did experience several falls from bed, even with regular check ins and a bed alarm. Given that the facility is unable to authorize bed assists, it may not be the best option for residents who are prone to falling out of bed or who need additional bed safety supports. At the time of my mom's residency, the program for memory care activities seemed somewhat limited. For individuals with higher functioning dementia who could still benefit from structured engagement and cognitive activities, the facility may not be able to provide the level of programming that some families are looking for. That said, they have hired a dedicated memory care activities director so this may improve. Additionally, the facility is also undergoing refurbishment, which I expect will further enhance the environment for its residents. Overall, it may be a reasonable, more affordable option for families if their loved ones needs align with the level of care and programing offered.

The staff and activities are excellent, cleanliness in general is good. However, the room I had to do. Dining is fine. Need more medical trained staff to aid residents. Had a lot of turnover. Four directors of wellness while my father was there in 'twenty months.

The facility is clean. Food is good. Administration, not the greatest. Bad communication with Administration. They never answer the phone when you call. They are incredibly understaffed, but that is understandable. For the most part, the place is what it is and you get what you pay for.

I like the lady that sits at the front desk. Very nice. I have met a few others and they all seem ok. I have had issues with them changing dad and throwing his clothing all over the room. He seems to like it there

I would recommend the Atrium... but like everything else you have to be there daily, unfortunately I live in New York... At first it was fantastic, as Dad got worse... and more help was needed, reaction time got slower....

Depending on the level of care needed, being if your love one is highly functional, this facility can work well. This facility has challenges with caring for low functioning individuals. I don't recommend.

My father has dementia however not enough to be in the memory care unit. Still knows family, can feed himself and go to bathroom. Other discussion he can’t make. I change batteries in his hearing aid, clean glasses, cut nails etc. tried numerous times to have their staff do to no avail. Personal care is very lacking. Even showering which I have no check list when he received one. Wash seems to get done once a week. Like everywhere they maybe understaffed. One other thing. The executive director is new about six months on the job. I gave her plenty of time to get adjusted. Call twice left voicemails on various issues never to have my calls returned

The nurses were nice although staff to patient ratio was low. Too many patients with too few nurses. Plus, the place is old and needed some updates. I guess it's the cheapest place for a reason.

The main complaint I hear from my dad is about the food not being great quality.

I toured at Abode Care of Monroeville. My tour guide broke away from me to handle something. She left me in the conference room for an extended amount of time. I understand emergencies happen but I felt like she could have sent someone in to give me reassurance that she was coming back.
