I would say to steer clear of this community for your loved one.

At one time, I would have had only the highest praise for this assisted living home. I would have recommended it without reservation. Now, if you care about the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved one is well provided for, find a different place! My loved one had lived at the same location for 5 1/2 years and for most of that time, she was in a warm welcoming environment not only for her, but for her family who visited multiple time per week during all those years. But since the change in ownership (and name change), the new staff as a whole plead "that's not my job" or "I don't know" or "I can leave a message", that is IF they actually answer the phone! My mother died from Covid , which she caught at Abode Care. If that was not painful enough, our struggle trying to retrieve her belongings was a nightmare, tooks weeks and still they did not return all of her things. To further add insult to injury, for every day THEY delayed returning her belonging, we were charged rent

I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone concerned about their loved one. They fill this facility with dementia patients when none of the staff is qualified to care for them. I have witnessed residents wandering the parking lot, as well as residents who are undressed roaming the facility. None of the staff pays attention because the entire facility is understaffed. The culture here is to keep residents in their rooms all day except for meal times and some activities to help the little staff that they do have handle the workload. There is absolutely no follow-through when requests or directives are submitted concerning care, and there is no dietitian on staff. Do yourself and your loved one a favor and find a place that really will go above and beyond. This place is a joke.
