Westmont Living

I would highly recommend them. I did a lot of research before selecting a place, and It's exactly what I was looking for. It's a smaller community with more of a family atmosphere. My mom is definitely not just a number here. Everyone knows her, and that happened very quickly. They send out quarterly reviews that are well written and accurate. The staff are lovely. The food is delicious. They have a new memory care activities director who is starting on June 1st, which we're all excited about. In spite of Covid challenges, they have had good activities throughout. The cost seems pretty typical compared to other places. I have no complaints about anything, and I see that everyone is well taken care of. The staff are really on top of everything and well trained. I see empathy and compassion from all of them. I've never once heard a mean tone from anybody. They are truly caring and compassionate. When I call out of the blue to ask how my mom is doing, they spend a long time on the phone with me giving me updates, which I really appreciate. Your loved one would be well cared for here.

So far so good. They've been very responsive to our family. Initially our loved one wasn't getting showered as often as she was supposed to, and when we brought it up, they immediately remedied it - with no hassle. They just did the right thing. We had a meeting with David, who runs the place. He was very thorough in going through the paperwork and explaining everything to us. And he has been very reachable. The staff knows the name of every client and knows their story. They get to know each resident's specific needs in order to better care for them. It's a beautiful, new facility. She says the food is good. They have Bingo and all sorts of things for the residents to do. So far we're pleased.

We had a great tour with Westmont and were thoroughly impressed, we just wanted to find a place where they primarily spoke Spanish because it would be easier for my loved one to adapt.

It is a bright and open environment that is welcoming to residents and families. They have many choices for activities daily. And they go on outings to Santa Barbara weekly. It's a wonderful location.

We chose Westmont of Fresno because they spoke directly to my mother in law during the initial interview and she really liked the look of the facility. I have noticed that sometimes it is hard to get in touch with them, but I know they are short staffed right now just like everybody else is. Overall it has been a good experience and I would recommend them to others.

This community is awesome. Excellent service, beautiful and the food is spectacular. All residents are very friendly and nice. So happy we moved here.

Westmont is a great place! My moms lives here and loves it! The entire staff are warm, friendly, caring and accommodating. I would recommend this place to others.

This was a really nice and really beautiful community. Every apartment had a full kitchen in it. They also had a beautiful dining room. People were more in their apartments and my loved one needed more of a social connection. felt like a country club but it just did not give that family feeling that my loved one needed

It was just a pleasant experience overall. The people were really friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We enjoyed it so much that after my loved one passed away, we brought in lunch for the staff to say thank you. I know they're undergoing difficult situations with Covid lockdowns. They were wonderful with precautions. They had somebody going around disinfecting the doorknobs several times a day. When one staff member was exposed, they had everybody in the entire facility get tested. It was a good thing to see that they took it so seriously.

I'm very satisfied with them. The number one thing that stands out is that their memory care unit is enclosed within the facility. That's a big deal for us, so our love one isn't opening a door and hearing an alarm go off. The staff is excellent, although sometimes it's hard to get through to the general staff when I call. The facility is clean overall. My loved one says she likes the food. And it's a good deal for the money.

I have visited pretty much every place in North County on the coast in the last five years. Westmont of Encinitas recently opened within the last 6 month or so, and it still has some growing pains. But having seen so many other places, I am astonished at the quality here. I am amazed at their indoor, heated therapy pool. It is gorgeous, and they have a physical therapist on staff attending it every day. Every place of course is having staffing problems right now. That's the only thing they seem to be struggling with. But the staff they do have are very friendly and engaged. When you walk in, they're so cheerful and cordial as they greet you. And that's how they are every day, which has been a pleasant surprise. Overall, I wish there was a registered nurse on each side. But they do have an LPN there, and she is very capable and very available. The facility is very clean. The meals I've had there have been wonderful. I've never been to a place that has 4 entrées available each night! Which is astonishing, and perhaps a little extravagant. But they are very keen on providing amazing food. They're all trying their best during this Covid situation. The nurse even gave me her home phone number, because one time I couldn't contact anyone at night due to a temporary problem with the relay system at the front desk. She always answers my questions, and I feel very comfortable contacting her. We came from a dire situation at another community, and this has been such an improvement!

Our family had an in person tour and it was a very nice community but they only had one bedrooms available and we were looking for two bedrooms

I love this community. It has a wonderfully caring staff. My father appreciates his care. The families are supported with timely communication (I hear directly about my father). This creates a family atmosphere at Mariposa. There are numerous activities for the residents. Thank you Mariposa for my loved one's care.

My dad and his little dog lived at Mariposa for several years. The caregivers and med techs really care for the residents. The activities vary and engage every resident and the food is good. Family activities are planned so that all family members can participate. The management team is great to work with. They communicate with families frequently so that we know what is going on in the community. I get peace of mind knowing that my dad is well taken can of.

This community is very nice and clean. It is only a few years old and has washer and dryers in each unit to make it easier for the residents. They have activities like an indoor pool with water aerobics, chair work out classes and more for the residents to do to stay happy and healthy. They also have bingo.

We chose Westmont Village because of all of the amenities provided and the spacious living area in the apartments. When we walked in it felt more homey rather than institutional. The meals are served restaurant style rather than cafeteria style which we really liked. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

I highly recommend the Mariposa at Elwood Shores. The facility is new and quite lovely. The caregivers are exceptional, and the director is sincerely dedicated to the overall smooth functioning of the environment, activities and individual attention to the residents, and when needed everyone chips in to help out regardless of position whenever help is needed. It’s a very special place.

After finding my father on the floor when he was living by himself, I knew I needed to find a place that would not only be similar to home, but would take his little dog. Mariposa was very welcoming of both him and his dog. The facility is clean and the friendly caregivers really care. It's one of the smaller communities in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area so I know he gets all of the personal care and attention that he needs. There are a variety of activities that he can choose from. Special activities are planned so that family members can participate. The management communicates with family members regularly. He loves living there and I get peace of mind that someone is looking after him 24/7.

My mom looks forward to the music program which 4-5 times a week! Also, the activities keep her actively engaged and she loves the interaction with the UCSB program once a week. She is an artist and enjoys the opportunity to paint weekly. The caring attitudes of those serving the meals, (and she loves the food here), as well as those that work the rooms, makes me know that she is in the right place.

It's a good and acceptable place. It's not cheap though. You have to have some money in the bank to do it. It's attractive and comfortable. My mother is happy there. She gets to go swimming every morning in the swimming pool. They're shorthanded all the time. The staff that are there are good, but there seems to be a lot of turnover, and they have a hard time finding replacements. That's mainly in the dining hall and kitchen. I feel like the staff is stable in other areas like maintenance and administration. The activities are not to her taste. They're geared more towards people who are not as functional as she is.
