Westminster Communities

The assistant living building doesn't have a kitchen, so their food is prepared across the street and then they have to order what they want the day before. So that is a bit of an issue. Other than that all is good.

This review is long overdue. Chef [name removed] is one of the premier Chefs on Florida’s West Coast. Managing and preparing food for our Alta Marina Restaurant and 1926 Bar, Chef [name removed] menus are creative, inspired and attuned to residents’ requirements. His meal preparation is excellent and the presentation is artful. Chef [name removed] monthly country-themed meals are a wonderful food adventure providing a special food experience for residents. The Alta Marina is fine dining in the most beautiful setting in St. Petersburg. Though understaffed, Chef [name removed] insures maintenance of his high standards for quality even if it requires him to bus tables and serve meals. Thank you, Chef [name removed] for your excellent contribution to our quality of life at the Shores!

The grounds were very well cared for and the views from every location were wonderful. The main clubhouse was very appealing and welcoming. We enjoyed an excellent lunch and the people from Westminster that we met could not have been more pleasant and offered very honest and frank answers to our questions. We saw both apartment and villa units and both were spacious, bright and cheery.

Some of the apartments are a really good size but some are small, I am in a studio and it is pretty tight space. I would recommend Westminster Shores to others.

This is a lovely property with gorgeous grounds. I believe there isn't enough staff due to COVID. The family has to follow up on requests to make sure these are taken care of for our loved one. The grounds are secure for the residents to enjoy the outdoors. There is one meal day provided by the community and there were choices for the residents. There is a full kitchen in the apartment for the residents to utilize, and they had washers and dryers in the room. There is also a communal laundry area for the residents to use.

WWJC did an excellent job getting us through the pandemic. They also excelled at management of evacuation for Hurricane Ian. I am very happy with my four years here as a single woman. I truly live in a beautiful setting.

The tour was great at this community. The community was great but there was just another community that worked out better for my loved one. The tour guide was good and was able to give me all of the information I needed about the community.

This was a good community and would have worked perfect for my loved one. This community was actually my favorite I just had to narrow down the choices and my loved one picked a different community. The tour was great, and they took the time to show me everything.

This community wasn't in great condition during my tour. There was problem with the placement of the generator in the driveway, and limited parking. The elevators were slow in the high rises.

We toured several places, but this was the only other one we considered in our top two. It was very clean and very modern. It was obvious the director was experienced with the geriatric population. They also had an abundance of activities, and the living quarters were very nice.

Our loved one has been in and out of Westminster Oaks for rehab and we are not madly in love with this community but they are taking much better care of her than the community she normally stays at. They always answer the phone anytime we call with questions or concerns. One thing we don't like is on the rehab floor that is primarily for rehab, they had hospice patients on there and even covid patients. We wish it was just primarily for rehab patients.

Doesn't allow psych medication. It is a buy in which cost [fee removed]. Very nice.

Lovely facility and very attentive sales person. The views of the bay are spectacular. However it is very far from the shopping and restaurants of downtown St. Pete. We are interested in paying monthly so the very large buy-in was not for us.

The times I have been able to visit, we have no problem with the cleanliness of the community. Our biggest frustration is that their is no proactive communication especially during this time. The nurses are cool they are good about communication regarding anything medical. It is just the administrators we never really hear from and it takes a few follow ups for them to get back to us.

Looks like the best for food. Also resort quality atmosphere gorgeous grounds. Villa available right across from villa dining - is he fit for a villa? He would have to figure out how to get to main building for activities. (Eyesight assessment?). Or, we could wait for a Suncoast room to become available. CONS: Maybe the complex is too overwhelming. Maybe too high brow for him to be comfortable. Waiting on vacancy. Not sure much pet exposure.

[Name removed] was very accommodating and thorough. Nice facilities with several options for housing.

The picture on the site of the living room that looked out on Tampa Bay is awesome. However, that view is probably mega bucks.

single homes, really nice but no memory care

Awesome location on Manatee River. 2 bedroom 1300sf.

We could no longer care for mom at home and we were in another facility that is a BIG corporation in town and all over. Name doesn't count when care is poor. We toured Westminster Manor health center and the cleanliness was noticed along with the staff interaction with residents. Now of course there are"smells" from time to time , but hey, there's a smell at times in my bathroom area too. It's not always roses if you know what I mean? Anyhow, I find them to include residents in daily activities, helping with meals and keeping them engaged as much as possible. All you have to do is ask the staff and they are willing to direct you in the right direction for any issue or administration. Were invited to all care plan meetings too. This has been hard to no longer be able to keep mom home, but sure glad she's here with caring staff.
