Westminster Communities

Westminister is older but very nice. My mother did not choose it because it is spread out and she needed something that was in one building because she cannot see very well. I think this is a good option for seniors that do not have vision impairments or issues with mobility.

This is a very lovely community. We really are excited and so is my father in law about the big move. We really like the staff because they are extremely friendly. I like that the layout is open and spacious. The community is clean and neat and it looks like a good place for my father in law.

I have had nothing but a good experience in this community. The food is excellent. The landscaping is beautiful with large trees and it is well taken care of. We were going to give up on looking for a community until we found this one. The people are great and they are renovating the part we will be living in. This community had exactly what I was looking for.

I preregistered and I was given a beautiful private room with a window and view of the river. The staff are very caring and accommodating. Amber with rehabilitation was great. I enjoyed the food I was able to choose every vegetable and dessert on the menu. The community is well kept and very clean.

Mom loves living at Westminster! It took me two years -and a scary fall - to convince her to consider and agree to move into an Independent Living Facility. I know this is long, but it is an honest assessment of the place mom know calls "her home". The activities and opportunities to make new friends are many. Most importantly, the staff is loving, cheerful and extremely skilled. They have created an environment where the body and the mind are cared for. Mom enjoys many group activities which are designed to keep her mind sharp, and the social interaction events necessary for good emotional health. She has made many new friends and I am amazed at how quickly she felt at home there. The Fitness calendar is varied with many choices of activities from Tai Chi, to Wii Bowling to Water Fitness classes. Most surprisingly, mom has resumed many activities - knitting, crochet, ceramics/pottery, and sewing - that she hadn't done in 20 years! Lastly, while on her own, cooking was a chore for her and she had stopped preparing high quality meals opting instead for frozen or low nutrition choices. At Westminster, they have wonderful menu options and I don't have to worry about whether she is eating well. Lastly, during a recent health emergency, the very fast response and action by the nursing staff made all the difference. Had mom been at her old home, she would not have called for help and would likely not have survived.

My friend Dorothy [removed] just moved in 3 weeks ago, and It has been diffucult time for her. Mark and all of the staff have been very helpful. I am very impressed with the Westminster community, The food is outstanding, and I would recommend Westminster to anyone that would need your services.

My family and I toured this location with my mother, since she now lives in a house out of town and needs to be closer to us. The campus is in a superb location in downtown St. Petersburg, overlooking North Shore Park. This is prime real estate, with many expensive condos and large homes nearby, and it is within blocks of the heart of St. Petersburg's waterfront (Beach Drive). Cost is reasonable, not cheap, but reasonable. I have been to less attractive places, in worse locations, that cost more. Being a non-profit, they are not a greedy penny-pinching business. Apartments and facility are constantly upgraded and well maintained. They have an amazing amount of activities and ammenities in and around the buildings. Walk across the street to a softball game, or take their little bus down the street to lunch, the Mahaffey, museums, or the pier once it is built! Very friendly staff, and residents appear happy and content. It is much more like a fancy hotel than a retirement community!

We are extremely happy with it. My parents are extremely happy with it. It was our first choice, from our many connections in the area. And when we saw how very affordable it was, we were delighted.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

This is a fabulous community. Every detail is attended to, so the residents are welcomed, safe, and independent. From the medical care and the food, to the maintenance of the Villa, I would not change s thing! My 94-year-old parents are very happy here!

I only met three people on the staff . The person at the front desk, I think she was a female, she was nice. The marketing director was amazingly accommodating and showed us around even though he had a 12 o'clock appointment. We also saw the maintenance man as he passed through back and forth and he was nice. We saw some women sitting down talking and also saw a woman with some dogs. The marketing director said that the woman was a special case because when she came one the dogs was old and wasn't going to live to much longer but they accommodated her due to that reason. I saw that with all of the Westminster's, all off them are quite accommodating. It was very clean nothing was out of place. Nothing needed to be dusted. From what I saw of the staff they were friendly. I didn't really see any of the amenities, but from what I read of them you're getting what you paid for. Didn't get to see the care or any of the activities either.

They are really friendly and go out of their way to help you. I couldn't have picked a better place for my mother-in-law, if I had to pick again!

My 86 year old father just moved to the assisted living facility here about a month ago, but our experience thus far has been truly superior. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The residents appear to be happy and healthy and they are friendly, as well. There is a wide variety of activities going on daily and The Quak Center is a true advantage to the residents. My father has been very complimentary regarding the food that is served in the dining room, much better than ordinary institutional food. I feel that we have made an excellent choice and look forward to many happy years there.

We found everyone at Westminster Palms to be extremely helpful and friendly, especially Jerry Bushey. He was especially sensitive to the specific needs of my mother and went above and beyond to help her feel comfortable at Westminster Palms.

Overall things have gone very well at Westminster Towers. The staff are all very friendly and pleasant, and they are quite diligent about making sure Mom is taken care of and gets her medicine on time. They respond quickly to any issues that come up, be they maintenance or care issues. The facility itself is clean, well kept, and pleasant, and there are no odors whatsoever. They do her laundry twice a week. Mom also really enjoys the food here, and food was one of our main pre-requisites. Mom has been a fantastic cook all her life, and now that she can't cook for herself being able to enjoy delicious food is still very important to her. Overall we're very pleased with this place, and would recommend to others who are looking!

I visited with my parents and they love the atmosphere, the people and found a perfect cottage. As a worker in the health field, I was very impressed with the health care center. Even though my parents do not need any health care services, it's a good feeling to know that if they do need those services in the future, they will be well taken care of and I will not have to search for those facilities.

I liked Westminister shores very much it is exactly what I am looking for. My daughter would like something a little closer. Maybe Tennessee or North Carolina.I had a fantastic time wall at the shores. I am still interested if things can be worked out.

It has a very good reputation and a lot of people have lived there for many years. One lady that has been there since she was 60 and she's now in her 70's. They have everything - apartments, independent living, ALF, and skilled nursing - they meet every need that you might have. It's just big bucks to be able to stay there. It's a buy-in, so you put down X amount of dollars and how long you stay determines the amount you get back. They've been in Orlando for a long, long time, and it is a very nice place. I've never heard anybody say anything bad about it.

My dad has since moved out of Westminster, but it wasn't because of anything they did. He just didn't want to be in an assisted living place. Mark Weaver at Westminster was great - he was a huge help. Everything about the community was great, can't say enough good about it.
