Waltonwood Senior Living

My dad loves living at Waltonwood Royal Oak. He was always an introvert, but since he arrived at Waltonwood, he has become a social butterfly and thoroughly enjoys all of the activities from exercise classes to Blackjack. Both his apartment and the common spaces are lovely and warm. The staff at Waltonwood RO genuinely knows and cares about him. Everyone-- the receptionists, techs, nurses and even the Executive Director have gone out of their way for both him and me on countless occasions. I deeply appreciate their efforts especially as I live out of the state and am trying to manage his care/health from a distance. They have even stepped up their game since the advent of COVID-19, working extra hard to find ways to provide the same level of care, quality, and comfort, while balancing all of the necessary restrictions to prevent infection. I cannot say enough about our experiences at Waltonwood RO and rely on them to be there for my dad when I can’t.

The community has probably the best food in the area. Their staff is willing to learn the needs of the residence to make them residence feel as comfortable as possible. I would recommend this community to others

We chose Waltonwood University because of the overall capabilities that they had for the future as well as the proximity to family members. The apartment sizes here are good, she is in a 1 bedroom 1 bath and it is very nice for her needs. I would recommend to others.

Are you considering moving into a new living arrangement? I did, about three years ago. I am so happy I chose Waltonwood in royal oak. I wasn't preparing very healthy meals, but I found my answer here at Waltonwood. Even with the restrictions on been close to each other, we have so much fun. We have satisfying complete meals, in our lovely dining room. There are activities galore, like exercising, meditation assistance, bingo games, craft projects, coffee klatches, puzzle building, mail deliveries, and just talking with each other. You can buzz the staff anytime and your needs are med with lots of joy and satisfaction. Shall I go on? Any who, I love living here, and know you will too. Come join us!!

Our first impression of Waltonwood was it was kept very clean and the people there were so very friendly. We relaly liked that it had a 24/7 concierge service, we felt that we could call anytime during the day and someone would answer. We are from out of town and this community is very accessible. It is an excellent place, they have taken extra precautions during COVID. We are able to face time her to check in, but we know she is being well taken care of. All the care services are excellent. The food is like restaurant style, it is very good quality. Due to COVID this residents are eating in their rooms. Before COVID they have plenty of activities to offer, sometimes they would take day trips, and the community would bring in live entertainment. There was also movie night. This community had physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

We chose Waltonwood Cotswold because it was very family oriented and people were happy and comfortable. It is a smaller community so there is more interaction between the residents. The room sizes seem just fine foe what my sister needs. I would absolutely recommend the community.

My mother, who is 96, has been in assisted living at Waltonwood at Main in Rochester Hills, MI, for the past 18 months. I have not seen her so engaged and active for years. She enjoys the various in-house activities provided for the residents (Bingo, live concerts, live animal presentations), the planned day trips in the greater community (movies, lunches, museums, the zoo, etc.), and the occasional spontaneous summer trips for ice cream. The staff responsible for these activities enjoy working with the residents, and the joy they bring with them is real. The caregivers and med/techs are proactive with regard to her physical safety. They always take the time to talk to family members about any concerns that we or they may have. And they are always patient with us, as well as with the residents, something both essential and appreciated. I think you have to be a very special person to work with the elderly. I know there are special people at Waltonwood at Main.

My mom was very unhappy at her previous location . She was very unhappy with everything so we+moved her. It has been the best thing for her. She lives her new newborn and enjoys leaving her apartment to mingle . THANK YOU SO MUCH Waltonwoods

My father moved into one of the Independent senior apartments and really likes his new home. All the staff greet him by his first name and ask him how is he doing and make him feel welcome and included in all activities. Staff all are attentive and available if any resident needs assistance or a question. The food is very good and includes tasty and beautiful deserts. Dad can come and go as he chooses and has safety devices and all the comforts of home he would want. He has made several new friends and enjoys the conversations and friendly interactions with many new friends. We are very pleased with our choice of Dads new home and the peace of mind that Waltonwood Carriage Manor is able to offer.

Excellent. Not ready for AL

My mother is an independent living resident at Waltonwood University in Rochester Hills. The facility is very warm and welcoming, as are the staff. We enjoy visiting mom . It is a bonus for my sister and I to be able to stay in the guest apartment, which is cozy. The reasonable daily rate includes breakfast, lunch and supper. The meals served at Waltonwood are delicious. Kudos to the chefs! Every staff member we met greeted us with a smile! Secretary [name removed] is great! Thank you [name removed], you are always smiling! Thank you [name removed], for another great visit to Waltonwood!

The executive director himself gave us a tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable. Really spent time to explain everything and answer all our questions. He even asked about my loved ones hobbies/interests and expectations for the community. Put our minds at ease!

Very nice place. Even though this is a little out of the way, this is an option.

After an extensive and exhaustive tour of Charlotte Area assisted living facilities, we found WaltonWood at Cotswold the ideal place for my aging mother. The entire facility is spotless, roomy, and void of ANY whiff of "nursing home smell". The staff are genuinely engaged, friendly, and caring. Security and accommodations for Memory Care patients/residents are superior! I have no worries whatsoever for my mother's well being while she is here, which I would imagine would be the rest of her life. As far as I am concerned, this is one of Charlotte's hidden gems in the senior living communities here.

I love this community....I will recommend this place for the seniors. The caregivers and med techs are wonderful. I just love them all!

We moved my mom into assisted living and we have had our expectations exceeded. The staff is very caring and attentive. The facility is always clean and the staff is always friendly. You may think the price is too much but how can you put a price on your piece of mind as well as the happiness it brings my mother. She feels safe and is now doing things she hasn’t done in the last 5 months. I believe it’s due to the care she is receiving. Walton Woods has so many activities if she cares to join them. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Thank you all those that work there.

[Name removed] & staff were pleasant and helpful. (Each tour opens our eyes to more things we need to know). The overview facility is great and resident focused. Room options are limited to studios but they are laid out well & spacious. There are fall savings making it very attractive. Will be back with Mom.
