Wonderful activities!

It seems very clean, the only disappointing thing is the cleaning they do in their rooms. I'm very disappointed with what is supposed to be a light housecleaning but if you're in a place like this who's supposed to be doing the deeper cleaning? It may be an extra service they want you to pay for but they don't dust and there aren't a lot of places I've seen that do dusting, they don't move anything and they aren't going behind anything but I would say it's bare bare bones. I think for what they're paying I think it's a good value, it's at the lower end of the cost range and compared to the prices of other places, it's good. I think the activities are outstanding, they have tons of them and my parents aren't participating in many, they go to happy hour, a little bit of shopping but they have a lot more activities to offer. The transition was a little difficult for my dad, not so much for my mother they didn't want ot be around a bunch of old people (their words, not mine!!) but that was about 2 years ago and overall they really like it.

Good Community, Wonderful Environment

I would recommend Parkvue Place to others for the their loved ones. They are friendly, have a clean community, with nice rooms and that all stands out to me. The food is enjoyed by my loved one and they always says there are good sized portions. The community is able to do medication management for my loved one. Some of the activities include swimming pool, bus rides, happy hour, movie night, religious services, football games, entertainment and more for the residents to choose from to participate in. The community is very pretty, picturesque, and has a pond. The roads are named after the game of Monopoly. The community is decorated very nicely. The residents are very pleasant and friendly.

Trinity Community wasn’t as nice as another place we looked at, but it was less expensive. The main problem for my loved one was her pets. They're like her kids, so she has to have them with her. Trinity does offer pet care services for those who can't care for them on their own, but it just would have been too expensive to have them provide that necessary help.

Our family had an in person tour and it is a very nice community, but there was nothing available at the time. It did seem a little unorganized, we had trouble finding the person who was supposed to give us the tour.

Improvements needed

Food is horrible. Appliances are old and cheap. My dryer burns and shrinks my clothes. Too hot. My heater doesn't register accurate temperature. The cost is reasonable. I would but caution them about the above. A new person is in charge and is trying to make changes.

It looks good on the surface. Appliances are cheap. Carpet is very thin. If you are use to better quality you may not like it here. No staff on weekends or holidays. This is despite people here with Alzheimer's and dementia. I was told there are people here in hospice. That is not independent living. My washer on a late Sunday evening did not shut off the water. My apartment the hall was flooded as well as well as the apartment's ceiling. It had happened bey at least eight times. They don't change the valves until it happens. I needed help. I called the fire department.

Wouldn't choose Trinity again.

Some of the staff was great. The rehab team wasn't very ..encouraging. Was very dissappointing. Staff was inconsistent. Call lights go unanswered for more than an hour. When my mom returned from the hospital, she laid on multiple wrinkled blankets Medics brought her in on for over 4 hours, until i got there & changed her after i had to give her a bed bath. When i finally got Hospice in, Trinity staff went over 10 hours without coming in my moms room. She was still their patient. When she was in the AL, my sister walked in to find her in the fetal position, hadn't eaten in days, couldn't walk & i had to tell them to send her to the ER. They nurse became defensive saying she didnt see the need for her to go. My mom was admitted later that night for a pulmonary embolism. So, i would not choose to return to Trinity again or refer anyone. Especially for therapy.

I live at Parkvue Place. The staff is variable. The housekeeping is good. The meals are variable. I chose this place because I needed a nursing home facility on the campus for a later date. I think that the Resident Director is excellent... I can count on her for help.

Poor Communication

Staff was genuinely nice, but as soon as my father-in-law passed away, they couldn't wait for us to get his stuff out of there. Also, there was an argument about whether or not his oxygen equipment was the facility's or his from the DME. All the staff was in a meeting at the time and the front desk staff were rude about getting clarification. Poor last impression.

I toured Parkvue Place and the tour was nice, but my first impression of their community didn't go so well. They were way more expensive than the community we chose and it was not a memory care-type unit. It would've been like my dad having his own apartment with a stove, etc.. Once his memory got worse, he would then be moved across to the memory care unit. It would've been almost [price removed] more per month, even though he wouldn't be using all of their amenities. One of things that turned me off with Parkvue was not only the price, but the head of the facility. The lady we spoke to was not very nice at all, she was very unwelcoming. My dad is a Veteran and she talked to me, but not to him. It was almost like he wasn't even there. Whereas when we met with the head of the facility at the other community, she spoke to my dad and not to me. She only directed her words towards me if my dad didn't understand or hear what she said. She also gave us all the options as far Veterans were concerned, whereas Parkvue did not. The Parkvue director said, "You need to fill out this application because we have limited spots". If you're going to run a facility, you shouldn't be so matter of fact. [name removed] of the other community was much more upbeat, friendly & welcoming.

The community is nice inside, but older building. The staff is very friendly and we had wonderful chat with [name removed] about our parents and other things. Cost of community is much higher than other assisted/independent living for the square footage. The additional costs would discourage our parents even more.

I toured this community for my mother, and her needs. My tour went well. The community looked nice, everything appeared neat, and well maintained. The staff was friendly, and kind. They have good activities available for the residents. Unfortunately their rates were to high for our budget, and the location of the room they showed us was to far for her to walk. It is a nice community, but it wasn't the one for us.

Someone has been stealing from my family

Don’t go here if you like someone, a staff member, stealing from your loved ones! They will befriend them and steal from them. And they have hepatitis! This place doesn’t do a very well of a back ground check. Be careful who your loved one is around. A wolf can be in sheep’s clothing.
