My Husband stay at Oakley place was only for 3 weeks it was just to give me a break from everything. It was a nice looking place but I did have my concerns about the community and the staff there. The staff was okay, my husband did fall 3 times and they only called me regarding one fall so I think the communication wasn't the greatest. They do offer activities there so that is nice but the food isn't the best and my husband wasn't to please to with it. My experience with Oakley Place wasn't the best it was okay.

The food could use a up grade does not taste very good i hear other people talking about the taste besides my mom. Some nurses not to friendly,good a little more better care i am still working on that.

My Mom is a resident at Kingsbury Place. It is a very nice facility and they communicate with family members on a regular basis. My Mom seems to be happy there. The only complaint I can give is their was severely expired food in my Mom's personal refrigerator and I figured housekeeping would have noticed that. Maybe it's a privacy thing but I would think they would at least check on the food in the fridge even if it is with the resident. Other than that I am very satisfied with the facility. They have been more than kind and caring. The residents are friendly and wonderful to chat with. So glad my Mom is in a place that is safe and secure with good staff.

When we toured Mt. View it was just lovely. The seem to have everything we were looking for.

I think Bickford is a great place, and I think the director is fabulous. There have been several instances where some of the grooming and hygiene service plan hasn't been followed through, when she is little reluctant, due to dementia issues. They are being responsive about it, but I think there may be a communication issue. It may just not be the right fit. If it was just an independent living place, it would be fabulous. The first day we came for a meal and they ran out of a few things, and it took a very long time, though I guess if you don't have anywhere to be, that wouldn't. I did ask for regular updates, and it doesn't always happen, but there is one girl that updates me on a fairly regular basis. It's a cute little place, and it's an apartment not just a little room.

Placement of our Dad at Bickford at Raytown was made as simple as possible due to the assistance of the staff, both administrative and nursing staff. His accommodations are very nice and spacious with a feeling of home and a sense of independence. One problem was the administering of his medications which was somewhat confusing in that we were responsible for filling medication boxes, obtaining refills and then shipping to Bickford. Because we live in another city and work, this was extremely time-consuming and possibly could have been avoided had these services been handled by one organization. However, the personnel of the contracted service were very helpful and considerate. Overall, we are satisfied with the arrangements and await the transfer to Assisted Living which will be able to accommodate more of our Dad's needs.

The staff is very friendly. The meals are served restaurant style with soup sandwich for evening meal. The resident that needs cueing to eat often is on his own. The décor is beautiful. The apartments are nice. For the resident who can be more independent it is great. However, my husband was admitted with Alzheimers that was progressing fast. He had been hospitalized for agitation prior to admission, so the staff was aware of his situation. He started refusing meds, wasn't eating or drnking much and did not cooperate with changing clothes or hygiene issues. They were unable to get him to participate in activites as time went on. He was difficult to care for. He ended up being sent to a behavior hospital and is unable to return unless we provide 24 hr care. This I cannot afford.

We just visited it. In the running with Atria and we selected the Atria. I think at the Atria the patients that we were exposed to seemed more with it and less problematical. That influenced us a lot. They had a broad scope of services, both dementia and assisted living I believe. Their patients seemed like they were more challenged than those at the Atria.

I was looking for a place that was willing to communicate with me by phone on how my mom was doing when things would come up that I should know about. I notice the staff are more personable with the residents and it is a smaller environment, but still offers the amenities that my mom is interested. In the beginning I thought bigger was better and I found this to be a wrong fit for my mom. Even though the beginning few weeks were very hard on my mom with the change the staff worked hard to handle the problems we were running into to get my mom to fit in. They had some staff changes right when we moved in which I was not very happy with but then people do change jobs and it seemed it was just bad timing on our part when we were moving in. I even notice spouses of the residents come and volunteer and I see more families visiting their loved ones. I think it is a good family atmosphere.

I can tell you that when we initially met with the team there I felt very welcomed and I felt like my dad would be in a safe place. However, once the papers were signed, and my dad was there I felt like what they represented and what they were going to offer was misled.

Cleanliness and landscaping was major factors. I would recommend to others. What stood out, is how clean they keep it.

Parents haven't received any care other than Therapy from outside source. Minimal participation in activities at this time. Still adjusting. The apartment they are in is very nice. They offer a nice variety of activities, which will be nice for Mom and Dad once they are settled. This move was a big deal for my parents. Area for improvement would be to offer some sort of orientation for new residents besides just a booklet to read. Some sort of welcoming group/mentor would be beneficial. From what I can tell there has been major turnover in Administration since moving in (3rd Director). Maybe that is contributing to issues we are experiencing.

Some of the staff are really helpful, while others aren’t as friendly or attentive. Overall, it’s a decent place, and I’d still recommend it.

Well I kind of have mixed feelings, because I never get an invoice unless I'm there in person asking for it. They never send me one either through the mail or email and that really frustrates me. I've checked to be sure my address is correct and I'm told that they sent it to me in six months I've never received one. Her care seems to be adequate and she is happy with the people and her interactions with them. There have been a few bumps along the way but they are quickly resolved.

It's a nice place. My husband was only there 3 days and was then transferred to the hospital where he had emergency surgery. He recovered and then did not return to Astor Place, and he came home. We had planned for him to be at Astor Place for 2 months. I had to pay a lot in advance. I asked for at least a partial refund, given the circumstances, but I was charged an additional 16 days for Room and Board as well as Acuity care because he left! In total, I paid over[amount removed] for less than 3 days of care. I feel that was excessive, and they were not flexible or compassionate in that regard at all. I was charged for September [dates removed], even though he was physically there September [dates removed] Very unreasonable.

Weekend staffing is lacking. We are paying for them to assist with getting undressed at night and this only happens about 1 in 5 days.

They are going thru changes. New staff coming on. Some complaints about food, not enough. They have some work to do before I would recommend them

My parents don't complain about the care or the cleanliness so much as they do the food. I guess it has gone down hill significantly in the year they've been there. It's cold. It's the same thing over and over, and overall does not taste good.

It has been a hard transition moving our loved one to assisted living at Trustwell. Many of the staff are incredibly friendly and responsive, but there has been staff turnover with little communication with residents or their families. It does seem like it takes multiple check in’s to get on the same page for resident needs.

The building needs new furniture and carpet especially in the dining room. The place needs new parking lot at least new black top. More room for physical activities and the sidewalk should go around the whole building and there should be enclosed court yard.
