So far so good

I like the facility and the staff seem to be very friendly and really know what they are doing. There are a few issues that need to be resolved, but it is nothing too serious. So overall things are going well so far and we feel comfortable with him being here. It is still the early days so we are all still adjusting and getting to know one another.

Good Place Overall

The whole point of my loved ones being there is so my parents can be together. Unfortunately my mother doesn't need as much care as my father, so she is kind of left out of activities and the mainstream of things. I would like to see them step up with that. But for the most part the place is fine.

Great experience

Mom is doing really well here. They have done a great job of taking care of her. I would tell others that the staff are very accommodating to any additions that you may want or need when moving in. The apartments are really big, she has got tons of space for her things. We would highly recommend The Rivers.

A great option for south of the river.

So far things are going well. They've been easy to work with, and the transition went very smoothly. The employees at the top are reachable, and you can get to them for questions all the time. They did reach out in the first month to make sure things were going well and we had everything we needed. I also really liked that in that first week she was there, the head nurse, the doctor, everybody came in to introduce themselves to her. It's a very clean facility. Everything is spotless when I go in. She really liked the food when she first moved in, but they got a new chef that she's less excited about. They seem to have a good variety of activities, and they're doing outings and things. She's been happy with the activities. I think all of these types of places are too expensive, but overall they're providing the things they promised initially.

I think it can be a great place. It's just that Covid times are hard times.

The facility is nice and clean. The staff is fine. It's just a matter of them fixing some problems throughout the community. The food is horrible because they're still not in the dining room. They were back in the dining room for two days, and then there was a toilet leak in the room above, which they haven' t gotten around to fixing yet. And they haven't made any kind of accommodations to make things right. They have a van to take residents out of the community, and they've only done it once. Supposedly it's in the shop. I'm just not sure they're working hard to rectify these things. My loved ones haven't really met anybody in the several months they've been there because there's not a lot going on and they're just alone. So I'm hoping things get better over time.

It's been a positive experience.

The staff are attentive, friendly, and caring. They're communicating well during Covid times. The place is clean, and they clean regularly about once a week. They have a lot of activities for the residents, including movies, bingo, lectures, . I would recommend this community to others.

Our experience

Based on our tour, we had a good overall impression. But it had more of a corporate, business-like feel to it, and didn't have the homey, community feel we were looking for and ended up finding elsewhere.

A nice place to live

We're happy here, all is good. The staff is responsive, and they're there to help you when they can. They very friendly, and kind and compassionate with my loved one. We like the opportunities for socialization - for instance, there's a little front room where people sit and gather, which is nice for talking to other residents and making relationships. I also really like that they have screened-in patios. We actually just got invited to a book reading, as family of the resident. Because of Covid, they haven't been doing a lot of activities, but once everything opens up, they'll be ramping those up on the assisted living side, and the independent living residents can join in there as well. They can also go over on that side to get food. One issue we had was at the move in point, some things were not done in a timely manner. They did fix things eventually, but it sounds like maintenance was just very short staffed. They're trying to find new maintenance staff now, so hopefully going forward those requests will be handled more smoothly.

My review of The Rivers

We chose The Rivers because of the availability at the time. The room sizes at the facility are adequate for an assisted living place. The meals here are off a menu that residents are able to choose from. I would probably recommend for others who are looking.

Overall satisfied, however was just not the place for our loved

Our interaction with the management was good, however the health care workers were not so great when it came to the friendliness. When it comes to the care services our loved one needed they were more challenged and unsure on how to handle it.

Affordable place for mom and dad

We chose Heathers Estates because it was well maintained, more affordable and the location. the apartment sizes were great, lots of room. They had plenty variety of activities here before COVID, but my grandparents did not participate. One complaint they had is the hallways here are very uncomfortable and hot. Overall, we had a good experience here and would recommend as long as you are in good health.

Waterford Estates is a very nice property, they have a nice outside walking area. I have an apartment and it is perfectly fine for me. At the moment there are no activities due to COVID. Good place for senior living but not for memory care

They cleaned my mom's apartment weekly and changed her bedding. They brought her food in the evening. They had activities but she chose not to participate in many. They had opportunity to have a church service by video. They had an outbreak of the norovirus and due to the chef leaving, they had assistant caregivers preparing and serving the food who weren't trained to it. I feel that cleanliness around food was an issue which I think is why the virus continued to stick around there. The was a lot of staff turnover. The business office has stability issues and I would get billed several times for the same month.
