A Place for Mom has scored Traditions Management with 8.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 261 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Traditions Management has 1,216 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.3 out of 5.
Traditions is a beautiful facility but I feel is not strong in the health care area. Head of Nursing is an LPN, not a registered nurse and residents are not seen by a Dr., rather a Physcian Assistant. Our loved one's medical lreatment resulted in a serious infection which required hospitaliation, after less than 2 months in the facility. Also had cleanliness issues in aparrtment and with our loved one's hygiene. Seems to be a disconnect between what Marketing promises and what is actually delivered. In my Opinion, I would not recommend.

The care is very poor especially for the cost most likely due to understaff and poor management. Leaving my parent in bed missing breakfast, meds and lunch many days per week. Very disappointing!

My biggest concern was the sales agent told us that the first year the monthly fee is locked in, but after that they could raise the cost as many times and whenever they wanted. My parents are on a fixed income, they would end up being thrown out into the street.

This is a brand new community that is not being open till January of 2017. I was still able to take a tour. The staff did tell me all about the place, but I did not really like it. The rooms are small and again not a lot of light for my loved one. The staff did answer all questions, but this is just not the right place.

I have had a mixed experience with Emeritus at Lakeview. The community itself is fine in terms of how clean they keep and how friendly the staff are. However I have a big problem with their meal service, in that they do not offer vegetarian options.

My mother in law was a resident at the facility a little over a year. Toward the end her health had declined and she was wheel chair bound. She had a fish allergy and at one meal an aid had served her fish. He room was unclean and many times we would visit she was just sitting in the lobby or in her room alone. The final straw was the day we went to see her and her breakfast was still sitting in her room untouched, this was lunch time and she was at the dining room. He bathroom was often unclean and at one point her home made blanket was misplaced for months before they finally found it. When she passed away in her room they never bothered to remove the dirty linens from her bed or remove the drinking cup from her stand. This was a week after the fact. The people there are often just sitting alone in the lobby sleeping . Hospice was finally brought in at the end but once again a disappointment in that they were very useless in helping with her final arrangements after we had given them the information they needed not once but twice.

This facility is dated, the food was terrible and the care was severely below standard for the cost we were paying. My father was in need of emergency care and they REFUSED to call 911 for him. They told my sister they would get an ambulance (obviously in cahoots), she ignored them and called 911 herself. We were paying almost $5000 per month for his care and he was not getting the attention he needed. Sadly, my Dad passed (two days before my son's wedding). Emeritus said that his belongings would be fine there and that they would hold them for two weeks. My poor mother returned from the wedding and had to deal with his funeral. Tough times to say the least, but Emeritus was so caring that they charged her over $2200 (as though he was there) until the day his belongings were removed. I would not board my dog in this facility.

Quincy Pl., Holland, Michigan I had a camera in my parents room for eight months. I saw many bad things. If you love your parent do not bring them to Quincy Place Holland Michigan. My experience, at Quincy Place was as follows - my parent did not receive basic care. They did not receive showers as scheduled. They did not receive three meals per day. They lost 14 pounds in six weeks. My parent was put to bed in their street clothes, including shoes. My parent got out of the building three times was found in the parking lot. My parent fell nine times in eight weeks and it was always in the common room where they were being "supervised". If your family member resists, they recommend sedation. Diaper changes are not done sometimes for 18 hours. Every time you have a concern it’ll be blamed on your parent who has dementia or memory loss. If you love your parent, do not send them to Quincy Pl., Holland, MI. My family tried for eight months to get the Care plan followed. We went through the memory care manager, the operations manager and the vice president. We finally had to move my parent to get better Care. They have 32 residents for three caregivers each shift. They cannot and do not give your parent a care they need. If you have a parent that resides at Quincy Place get a video camera in their room ASAP you will be shocked at what it reveals.

What they could improve on would be to have the fall lights in the residence room working have more than one pager for the SNASTNA's that are on hand so my mom won't lay on the floor for an hour and 15 minutes before she's found do more frequent bad checks don't ask my mom who has dementia if she's hungry just tell her it's time to eat. The list goes on and on. I definitely would not recommend this place in the director over there is lacking in her job. I would not recommend anybody take a family member there.

After meeting with [name removed], the Director at that time, we agreed upon pricing. Now, just a few months after moving in, they add a $[removed] fee for the same services. Classic bait and switch. Way to stick it to a Senior on a fixed income.

Traditions at Camargo was a nice assisted living facility.. my mom was quickly moved to memory care little under a month after being there. The memory care was one of the most expensive around and the care was the lowest of all. We were very disappointed by the lack of care and the filth they left my mom to live in was very disappointing. I would not put them at the top of my list for someone in my mom's position..

I would not recommend this facility to anyone. My father was in the memory care unit there for literally 2 weeks and passed away. Yet, we still had to pay for the month after he passed away and wasn’t living there even though we gave the “30 day notice” when hospice told us they anticipated he would pass within 48 hours. Seems very shady and taking advantage of senior citizens. He also had gotten sick and was in his room basically beginning the dying process and NO ONE contacted us at all! We only found out when one of my siblings happened to stop by that evening and they called in hospice. The daytime staff are friendly, but the evening staff were not friendly and were abrupt with us when we asked any questions. They are taking care of your loved one and you would think there would be some compassion and caring towards family members. He would’ve been better off going home instead of being there, even though he was not mobile. Not impressed with them at all!

If your family member is not mentally competent and able to speak for their needs please do not put them here. My mom was thankfully alert and oriented and because of that she survived this place. There were multiple times she was given the wrong meds and she or I caught it by asking what each med was every time. She needed help showering but limited help. However she didn't receive showers regularly due to staffing issues. Heaven forbid she have an incontinent issue on occasion. They refused to help her shower after these if it wasn't her shower day. Her toilet constantly had issues and was left backed up over multiple weekends. Trash wasn't taken out regularly and caused odors. One of the nurses didn't clamp her urinary catheter correct once and it leaked all over her carpet. I had to cause a ruckus to get that cleaned. This place is a nightmare with a pretty bow.

We moved my mother after a month. Would not Ed moment at all. We complained to their corporate office and to the ombudsman. Overall I would rate it very low. It was not clean, the dining room vents were sticking out so if a person with dementia didn't have socks on they were at risk of being injured. The rooms had bathtubs in them that people with mobility issues could not get in and out of. No water was served at meals. The rooms were not cleaned consistently. Staff were transient and did not know the residents. Employees were on their phones all the time.

I had a bad experience with my loved one in Memory Care. The management was poor and did not to be questioned or criticized. Too many staff were untrained, uncaring, and not properly supervised. Medical care was inadequate. Food service declined while my loved one was there. Seemed to be cuts in service to increase profits.

We picked Brookdale in Ohio because I had a good experience with the Brookdale in Washington state. Unfortunately, our experience did not turn out well and we had to move our mom less than two months later. Their staff resident ratios did not seem appropriate for memory care. Our family will be sending a letter to Brookdale headquarters outlining our concerns.

The staff does not get to know the residents and their lives prior to coming there. The residents are interactive with each other and a great group. The staff is not trained to understand the daily challenges people with dementia have. Everything they said they would do to learn about my family member's likes dislikes etc just didn't happen. There was no orientation by any department or walk through when arrived.

To keep this short, we were over promised and under delivered. Nothing has met our expectations. Dining services ar e out of food half of the time and the kitchen and staff is dirty. The maintainer of the building is embarrassing. We’ve had at least five honchos in the last year. The activity program has done a complete 360 for the worst. We used to have happy hour three times a week, paint and sips, manicures and mimosas, bake and take, mom would be in her room and not come out but the tall curly hair woman always stopped by with a homemade goodie for her etc. with newsletters and Board updates. We also got activity calendars emailed to us once weekly.
