The facility is beautiful and very clean. The staff always seem willing to go out of their way to help. Since we live quite far away, they have been very responsive to texts and emails.

I had met with [name removed] and [name removed] to get a better understanding of what Thrive is all about. They filled me on the culture and how it is all about community involvement within the building and outside. Both were so genuine and knowledgeable that I left with just one thought "this is how all communities should be." Thrive will be a great addition to Savannah!

While I can't speak to having a parent live at Thrive yet I've been very impressed with the staff in discussing the upcoming opening of Thrive in Savannah as a possible place for my dad. (Please note that the building is under construction so I was not able to tour any of the actual apartments or anything inside so my review is purely based on conversations with the thrive team - I can't really review anything like cleanliness etc) I love their philosophy about focusing on possibilities rather than limitations. And prioritizing staff building meaningful relationships with the seniors vs just caregiving/assistance. I am hoping dad will make the move there when it's ready so that he can start living more!!! separately i do like the rental model - makes a lot of sense and makes it a potentially more affordable option without being locked into something that might not suit my dad's needs in a few years (the unknown!)

My actually our mothers loved at Thrive for a year and a half. There are not sufficient words to describe the amazing care she received. Not once did I emet a staff member who was indifferent. Our Mom's called this "home" and we are so thankful they got to live our their days in this amazing community.

When my husband died in 2018, I wanted to stay in my home. My son and daughter-in-law live in [location removed]. They would not allow me to live alone. They toured Savannah Commons and selected an apt. for me. I was sure that I would not be happy. Surprise!! I love this place and the wonderful people who live here and those who work here.

I found Savannah Commons last year when looking for a place for my dad to live. He immediately made new friends and felt at home. They had more activities than the average 30 yr old! I always joked that his social life was better than mine. Happy Hour on Fridays, Sunday ice cream socials, music entertainment, field trips, etc. At the time he moved in he was still independent but had many health issues. Living three states away, it was very comforting having such a loving staff looking after my dad. They took him to his doctor appointments and they were always quick to call me when he was not feeling well or acting not quite himself. They treated him with respect and dignity and always spoke with a gentle tone. Eventually he had to be moved to the assisted living side and the staff were so helpful and understanding. They treated my dad and I like we were family and they helped me get through the most difficult times of saying goodbye. I am forever grateful for their service and would recommend Savannah Commons to anyone contemplated moving a loved-one into independent or assisted living care.

My grandmother lived as a resident of Savannah Commons for over 4 years. She began in the Independent Living section, and as time went on, moved to Assisted Living and then eventually Memory Care. My family and I visited Savannah Commons often and even stayed overnight in their "family" apartments (which are furnished apartments that you rent like a hotel room). The rooms are great and meant we could spend even more time visiting my grandmother, since we stayed on-site. The staff is simply amazing - so kind, so loving, and very welcoming to family and friends who visit the residents at Savannah Commons. They always greeted us and my grandmother with a smile! As my grandmother became more elderly, she needed more care, and the staff really stepped up to meet her needs. The nurses and hospice nurses are all very informed, ready to assist, and it's clear they enjoy their job. I'm so thankful my Nan had this incredible community and staff in her final years.

You might be interested to hear from someone who has a mother who has been at this facility for 3 years now who has moved from independent living (two years) to assisted living (one year), The most important message I have for you is that management, and the nursing staff, bend over backward to help their residents and families deal with issues that pop up, whether it's a financial, medical, or other difficult issue such as understanding and coping with dementia. This team has seen a lot, which is true of the staff at many similar facilities. They have extensive knowledge and experience about all kinds of situations that arise with the elderly. They had ready solutions to problems we didn't even anticipate. But I just did not expect to have this level of human caring for our needs. Several times we have been concerned about a change in my mom. We've dropped an email to the executive director, and she's gotten on the phone with us very rapidly. And she just listens and talks us through what's going on. My mom thinks of the staff at Savannah Commons as family. Maybe that's expected. But for me, what's even more telling is that now, my husband and I and the other siblings think of the SC staff, especially the director and the head of nursing, as family too. They have just been there for us, through good times and not so good. Savannah Commons management made the transition for my mom to assisted living so easy. The AL facility, Savannah Springs, is even more beautiful than the Commons and has a lovely courtyard filled with plants, flowers, walkways and a gazebo to provide shade. The common areas are large and beautifully decorated and sometimes you will catch residents themselves playing the piano that's in the living room. The facility is all on one level which makes it easy for the residents to navigate. And they hired a new chef who is awesome! We have eaten there multiple times and the food is really, really good. My mother often comments on how beautiful the paintings are that they have displayed throughout the facility, and how beautiful the place looks on the outside of the building as well. My husband and I have visited there at different times, day and night, weekdays and weekends, and the shifts happen seamlessly with all nurses having the latest information for medication and other changes my mother has required. We have complete confidence in this facility and we can't say enough good things about it!! You will love it there as well, we are sure!

The staff at Savannah Commons is some of the best I've come across. They are very caring and attentive to any and all concerns myself and my loved one who is a resident have. They treat us like family and take great care on being some of the most respectful and trust worthy staff. My loved one looks forward to the weekly activities especially the weekly manicures that are included in the monthly fees. The grounds are charming and in the Spring and Summer attract birds and butterflies, even in the winter there is a quiet elegance to the exterior. The facility offers transportation and are diligent in taking all safety measures.

We are really thrilled with Savannah Commons as a new home for our mother. She has been there two months now and says that she really likes it as well. They have multiple common areas where they gather for a variety of activities. Although Mom hasn't gotten into the routine of checking the monthly calendar and marking down the things she wants to do, or keeping up with the regularly scheduled activities yet, that will come with time. The restaurant is nice and has table service, although Mom has not been utilizing the dining facility as much as she is supposed to be doing. She has used the transportation services multiple times and seems to have no trouble doing so. The range of activities offered is really good and except to make purchases and go to appointments off of the property, there is no reason to leave the building. In the wintertime and during inclimate weather this is very important to us that she be able to still go and do things and mingle with others on a regular basis. The interaction between the residents and the staff always seems to be very positive. The only reason I gave it four stars for Care Services is because this is an "Independent Living Facility" and as such, the level of personal care is minimal, although they do monitor the residents comings and goings, and try to be certain to speak to or visually observe them at least once every day so they be aware of them on an ongoing basis. I visitied 6 different facilities before selecting this one, and I knew at my first visit that it would take a lot for any other residence to top this as my first choice.
