The Pavilion Senior Living

I toured this community and it seemed nice. It was a clean facility and everyone seemed friendly.

Our tour with The Pavilion was fine. It just seemed more commercial and it was also more expensive.

We chose The Pavillion Senior Living because of the location, we knew someone who had their mother here and they had good things to say about it, and they also got into a brand new room with a porch. The apartments here are small but adequate for their needs. They are not fond of the meals and think, they could use improvement. They say they do not have flavor, they don't serve them on time, and there is not a lot of variety. The best part about the community is the staff members. I would recommend.

My friend is going to be moving into this community soon. The community looked clean and the people we met were friendly and helpful. She is going to have a large room. This is a smaller community. They have assisted living on one side and a locked memory care unit on the other. We saw the food and it looked well balanced and good.

For many reasons we really liked this community. First and foremost it is extremely close to my work so I can visit anytime. Secondly, it gives an apartment feel to the assisted living scenario so that the residents feel like they are still on their own but have help when needed. Mom is starting to settle in there she has gone out on the bus a few times and is slowly starting to participate in activities but what is good the staff is letting her do things in her own time no pressure. She likes the food, however, the portions are far too big.

The staff here has been great with my loved one. The community is clean and neat and never a problem. My loved one is enjoying it here. The food is good and they have a lot of variety. I would recommend this community to my friends.

Good facility. Rent is a bit pricey but very good services offered along with a self sufficirnt Memory Care unit.

Very friendly atmosphere. Although this one was reschedule by the facility, we learned a lot.

Its a nice home mom has been there two months, the first three weeks she would stay in her room, staff has done good to acclimate mom she is becoming more social each day. There has been a few times that apartment was dirtier than expected. Meals are very good and facility also offer snacks. Variety of activities for residents to enjoy.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought this was a very nice looking place, and out of all the places we toured it came down to this facility and another. We ended up going with the other place, but The Waterford is definitely worth a look! The staff are friendly, and the facility itself is well kept and clean.

We're very pleased with how things have gone with The Waterford in Smyrna! It's a very nice looking place, very clean, and the staff have all been very friendly and caring. We were in a real time crunch to get my loved one moved in, and the people here moved heaven and earth to help us get her in on time. They are definitely worth a look if you are looking into assisted living for a loved one!

My mom has been at the Waterford in Smyrna for a week. So far she seems happy to have her own place again and the staff has been really heplful. She seems to be learning her way around. Am very satisfied at this point.

At The Waterford in Smyrna I would like to see them increase the number of activities that are available. Also the medical staff need to be better about giving out the medications required of the residents. I have had several issues with this.

Positive- the car givers do a really good job trying to connect with residents. They know who they are and things about them. I appreciate that level of interaction. Negative- sometimes I wonder if bathing and general hygiene is followed up on.

The people there are very nice. But they are under staffed and I know probably all places are. I believe if they had more people it would really help. I would like to add they were wonderful when hospice came in and my dad passed there.

Staff 4 higher level cooperative, but lower level often trained by previous worker. Few activities. Mostly watch tv. Food was fair. Cleanliness fair. Lots of food on floor, cleaned up later. Room size ok. Nurse aggressive on getting new meds for agitation & crying. Often no staff on duty at night. Several uti's, hospital emergency room visits. Fall & fracture of cheekbone. Not enough workers for # of patients. High turnover of lower level employees. No regular change of depends (briefs). I suspect unprescribed meds given to calm her. Kept a list of times & dates I observed. Head nurse said if that happened nurse would be terminated.

Last year when my mother was there they had some staffing struggles which made my mother's time there more difficult that I had hoped. If your loved one is not QUITE independent, this may not be the best fit.

I would give them a 3. Waiting to get dad in memory care (waiting on the room to get finished). And he has walked off 3 times. Everything turned out good but I will be relieved when he gets in memory care. They have very nice people working there. But I feel there should be more staff. They have same staff to patient ratio as other places we checked out. I do feel all assisted living places should have more staff. They are working on getting dad into memory care but due to construction they just haven't been able to place him yet. Hopefully end of this week or next week he will get in. I do know they are watching him more closely so he won't walk off. I do feel they keep the rooms clean and do have things for residents to do. I just feel more staff is needed. And all the places we toured should have more staff.

The four top adm staff rated as 2. Other staff marginal. Higher turnover in lower level employees. Newer hires trained by existing workers rather than management. Mealtimes sometime delayed as much as an hour. Inadequate number of employees to meet the need. Inadequate cleanliness - 3 UTI's in 5 months. Wet pants often due to untimeliness. Sometime staff not on duty at night as promised. Etc

With the overall experience so far PT over medicated. The floor of the community is dirty, but the staff members are very helpful. When it comes to the care services they could use the training. The meals tend to be overcooked, but the activities are good. For the value for cost, it is good overall.
