This facility is completely understaffed to handle the number of patients on each hall. Usually only one person per hall and they tend to stay in their desk area rather than walking the halls and checking on the patients. Staff rotates halls regularly so there never seems to be anyone familiar with the patients on the hall and their needs or their special handling requirements. Medicine times can vary daily - more than an hour early or late. We have been very displeased with this facility.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for a loved one. We were immediately turned off by what we saw and did not stay long. The facility just seemed to have a general lack of cleanliness, and there was a noticeable odor when we walked in. It was enough that we did not stay for the full tour and left after a few minutes.

The Oaks at SNELLVILLE was by far the worst place I've lived in. They are unstaffed and the night shift could care less about those people who need their help. I spoke with a night nurse about a lady who couldn't get in her room. And she just when back to looking at the internet. I wouldn't put a dog in that place. I was there 40 days 10 to figure out they where [removed] with a 30 days notice. Don't recommend them to anyone.

Oaks at Snellville

I and my family are very disappointed in the Oaks at Snellville and are thinking about moving my Mom to another facility. First of all the turn over there is crazy, the staff (entertainment person, the cooks, the the nursing staff) change over is ridiculous, people there complain the food is not good at all, the nursing staff not doing there jobs and a lot of the time don't want to do there job, they don't have supplies. With all of that we have been paying over [fee removed] a month for my Mom to be there.

Horrible Experience

Do not take your love ones too this facility. It stinks, they don't keep an eye on the residence, if they get hurt they are going to lie about what happened and they are not professional

Keep looking!

I would honestly say to avoid this facility, they were short staffed and the resident RN was trying to take care of health and run the facility.

Do not recommend

I do not recommend at all. She went in walking well and was there six weeks and could not walk at all. I went in one day and she had bruises and busted lip. No one knew anything. I asked if she had fallen and they said no. She began to scream every time the attendees got near her. She was perfectly healthy going in and passed away six weeks after coming home. My mom was the sweetest lady and had a great disposition. She did have dementia, but I took care of her for ten years. I only put her in for respite care because I had surgery.

high staff turnover

When we first took my mom here they were great, attentive and attended to her needs. But as time went on and with staff turn over the service was terrible. My family has actual moved my mother, she is no longer here and we will not be recommending to anyone.

beware, do not place a loved one here

My mom fell and broke her hip at the location and no one can tell me how she fell plus they gave me 4 different lies on how she fell so because of this I am getting a lawyer to handle this situation. They are not actively watching the residence, they are short and rude to family members and if something happens to your love ones, they will not follow protocol and they will lie about it. Also put on there the back part of the facility smells like PEE, the residence may pee on themselves or in chairs and they don't clean it up in time

Not recommended

My loved one was previously a resident at Oaks at Shiloh Point for respite care. When I took her there, she was walking. When I picked her up after around 6 weeks, she could not walk and will never walk again. I would not recommend this facility to others.

Very bad

My friend lived there for years he passed away and people had been in his room prowling there is no telling what they took had two ladies begging for his stuff. He had just passed and they rushed us to get everything out. When talking to the director she seems like she didn’t care. They didn’t give us time to deal with his death they wanted his belongings out

So so

My mother has been at this facility for awhile. It’s very clean the food she hates.. I’m not to impressed with the director or some of the staff [remark removed] don’t trust any of the caregivers on second they don’t seem to know what they are doing and don’t feel comfortable with some who give out medication.. She has been complaining about stuff coming up missing out of her room. the weekends when you walk in you rarely see anyone they’re always short staffed. When we first brought mom here it was perfect but now we are second guessing it.. I worry about leaving her there now.

Be aware

We took my loved one out of this facility. I would tell anyone who is looking into Oaks at Conyers or who has a loved one in here that for the memory care units, any where you go, do pop up visits to ensure your loved one is being taking care of. They really need to improve on holding the employees accountable. People may have different experiences, but this was ours. The reviews when we were looking were good.

Please do your research!

The communication is not good at all. Getting updates on your loved one is like pulling teeth. The pandemic doesn't make it any better! You would think since the family can only do facetime or window visits, the ED would be more willing to update the families on what is going on with your loved ones, not just a generic "Covid" update. I have only had one great caregiver at the facility, she cares and treats the residents as her family. Other's don't care about your family member, at least it doesn't appear as such. Housekeeping has been put on the caregiver's instead of having a true housekeeper. Not sure what activities are going on with the residents. Apparently, COVID has put a stop on activities other then the activities director walking around asking the residents how they are. These residents need their minds stimulated, they need activity! I have reached out to corporate only to be told to call the ED's manager. I'm still waiting on a call back from her, almost 2 months later.

Unclean Environment/Not enough staff

This place has a strong activity program, however the day to day care of the seniors is not acceptable. They do NOT have enough staff to take care of the residents. Their philosophy is a unique one regarding having a strong activity program for Alzheimer's residents, however the residents are not taken care of in their rooms. They are often left alone. My grandmother fell several times because she was left alone in the common area. She also developed bedsores due to not having her depends changed often enough. We moved her out due to these concerns.

Very Upset Right Now

Don't recommend this place. They're good as can be for awhile then I guess they figure they've got you and the care dissipates. I started doing my mom's laundry because they did such a bad job. We've been giving her showers because they don't. Mom has dementia and she'll tell them she's already had a bath. Well, DUH. ASSISTED living is the clue here. Assist her. We pay them enough. She's out of breathing meds and only has enough for tonight. If there's an emergency, they'll call and ask if we want them taken to ER? Again, DUH! Don't take the time to call us. Call 911 and get them on their way THEN call us. Cindy can get things done. She'll help you in any way she can and you can rest assured it'll be done. The only reason my mom is still there is she won't move. I'm to the point of taking her somewhere else in spite of what she wants.
