I chose Elmhaven Manor because the apartment size is very nice. It is handicap friendly and everyone here has been nice. They promised me a rent reduction as well so it was the best deal at the time. Overall it has been a good experience and I would recommend them. I am excited for things to get back to normal so we can do more activities.

I believe the community is very secure, The staff is very helpful. If my loved one needs extra care they have a reasonably priced service that we can hire to help. I would recommend this community to others

This is a very nice place for your loved one. I would live here. Swanhaven is very clean. The apartments are large. They are barrier free. The people here are very friendly. They had activities for the residents prior to the pandemic. They even have cottages available. My loved one has a two bedroom and it is very spacious.

They have really good activities. they had pumpkin carving this year and we have a social every 2 weeks They have done a great job with covid. They have a good plan and clean the facility well, and have made covid plans for any activities also. I think this facility is excellent. the staff is friendly and so is the residence. this was the best choice we ever made I would recommend this community.

My friend [name removed] works here and told us what a great place this would be for my mom and I can tell you the staff was very helpful -even with the restrictions of the covid going on! We ?? love this place- it is beautiful and very clean and well kept! I will definitely recommend this place and I give it a 10 out of 10 rating! Recently assisted my Aunt with her move to The James. We have found the staff to be compassionate and helpful. Excellent meals and truly beautiful apartments. Nice to see this renovation in Ferndale, such a nice area. Very pleased with The James.

Many things promised cannot be done yet due to the small number of people who are living here. I know as the population of tenants increases so will activities and classes. I know this will work out for me as the employees are so wonderful and try to meet our every need. I recommend The James to all seniors!

An amazing place for my parents. They love it here. Always so much to do and they have made many new friends.

My husband and I have lived at Elmhaven for over 2 years and find it everything we wanted in a home. The staff is wonderful. They are knowledgeable, patient and have your best interest at heart. We have exercise, games, puppets, etc. Our activity director is great, she has all kinds of things for the residents to do and participate in.

Personally I think it is the one of the best!! They really try to be so meaningful!

I was very pleased with the selection of places they had us review. My sister really liked Elmhaven and she is enjoying her new 2 bedroom apartment and the other residents. She has participated in some of the activities and really enjoys it. It would be nice if they served breakfast, but we make sure she has breakfast and lunch items when she is hungry. It would also be nice if the washer and dryer was in each apartment.

I have lived here for over 5 years. After about a month, I came home one evening and thought-"oh I'm home"! It was a great feeling. If I need anything, it doesn't take long to get it fixed. The men who work here are always pleasant and quick to accommodate, and of course, the office girls too. All in all--a great place to be!

I would love to tell you about an excellent caregiver that worked for my mother at Oak Haven. Her name is [name removed]. She was like a sister to me and another daughter to my mom! She took the best care of her like she was her own mother! She took time to love on my mama in many special ways...cooking for her, cleaning, taking her places but mostly spending time with her! She did alot of this on her own time. Taking time to visit mom at the hospital, bringing her little surprises, and answering her calls even late at night. She was a beacon of hope for my family as we didn't live very close. She comforted me when mama passed away, brought food and sent a donation to mom's favorite charity when she passed! This lady was phenomenal!! She was a blessing! If u ever need a caregiver, [name removed] is for you!

I like it a lot here at Porthaven Manor. They are friendly and helpful. I have no problems here at all. I have choices for meals. I can prepare my own meals, or I can choose one of their meals for dinner and pay for it to be catered. They have donuts and coffee on Fridays for the residents to get together and socialize. The rest of the time they have coffee breaks in the morning for the residents. They have quite a few activities, I haven't gotten into many of them as I am still getting settled in. I love my apartment. It has a nice big living room and bedroom. Each of the apartments has their own patio. They offer transportation to get into town to go places like to the banks, shopping, doctor appointments. I'm getting acquainted with my neighbors, they are all very friendly. I fell in love with this community and it was affordable for me. Yes, I would definitely recommend this community to others.
