Sunrise Senior Living

They are a very good community and is very pretty. It is a more upscale community that was not within our budget. We really liked it but we were able to get the same services at another community that was also able to fit our budget.

I think it would have been a great option. It seemed really good for people with Alzheimers and dementia except that they didn't have quite the level of nursing care licensing that another community did but it is still pretty high. I think it was a very good program for keeping people active.

We had a wonderful tour with Colleen. Star was great when she came to visit my mom at the rehab center where she was recuiperating from a fall. My mom was not happy to move there but over time with her wonderful caregiver, Irene, she is getting used to it. She is happy to say the rosary with the group every morning. She likes her meal table mate. She loves Mike, PT when he comes but doesn't like the chair exercises in the morning with the staff and group environment. She thinks they are too boring. She was always into crafts and I wish she would explore those offerings but we are still taking baby steps. One thing is that I have yet to receive an invitation to a special event. I have gone just because I have asked and encourage her to go so I go too but it would be nice for an invitation to come so I don't miss any party.

We love this community. Our loved one is really happy here they just know how to take care of their residents. The staff here is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They really try the best they can. We are very pleased with and would recommend Brighton Gardens to anyone.

It seemed very nice. It looks clean, doesn't smell bad, and has beautiful decor. Outside each room they've got little collages in shadowboxes about that person to give people going in some idea of that person. That was kind of neat. It was very nice but it was quite a bit more expensive. All the care that we were looking for were all extra add ons and there was a fee for the paper products for incontinent care. I really liked Sunrise but we were concerned about the price.

Bad parking. Great homey feel. Calm atmosphere. Director was awesome. Smaller rooms. Dedicated CNA. Activities for men. Many activities during the day.

Dog on property. Nursing care 24/7 RN on staff. 30 day reassessment. 1 MD and 2 N practitioners, 4 lpn.1 primary CNA 1st shift. Great food! Large rooms. Experianced with pubic tube.

Was very impressed with the genuinely warm greetings we received from all staff, including a young man named Justin who works in the dining area! The facility was clean and cheerful, the activities were impressive, the dining area was comfortable and inviting and the taste test of the food was quite good. The menu options looked wonderful. Shelley was helpful, friendly and very professional. Our main concern is the size of the 1 bedroom units. While they aren't bad, for our family it may not be enough. Integration of independent living and assisted living residents was very comforting but the facility also offers more advanced memory care and the building looks very secure for them.

We chose it because of lcoation and it provided the services we needed; it was a nice, clean, friendly place. Not everyone's perfect there and there have been a couple of situations with one or two people where I think they've handled things poorly. I haven't voiced any concerns with the people there because the situations were more a personality/bad judgment issue and nothing that was life threatening or a serious problem.

They didn't have a big room available when I was looking. My mom is spoiled - she came from a 6000 square foot house so all these rooms feel like shoe boxes to her. Money is no object for her so I tried to find the biggest room so she doesn't feel claustrophobic. They said the big room might be available by the end of the year so I'm considering a move. I like the way they engage the residents like if my mom went back to her room after lunch and refused to come out they said they would send someone to get try and get her out to participate in the activities. If they can't then they'll sit with her. They have all these activities to occupy her and redirect her when she starts sundowning and gets upset.

We are very happy with Brighton Gardens. The main reasons we chose them is because of the availability and vacancy they had at the time of need. We also really liked the location of the community and the tour they provided was very impressive.

I looked at this place for my mother and I ended up choosing another Sunrise property because they had more tenured staff and better rates.

I was there just for rehab so I was there for different reasons than the other people. They try, but they can't control what happens each day and they have these people that have all different needs and sometimes the services are better than other. For quite a while when I was rehabing I had to have help getting dressed, for a while I was one handed, most of the time they would come to do things on a timely manner but sometimes they would not. The other part is that the service on the weekends was defintiely not as good during the week but that had to do with who they had on duty and the amount of people they had on duty. Again, since I couldn't do anything I really had to have meals, there wasn't a whole lotta time between breakfast and lunch and you couldn't expect a whole lot to eat after 6. The food was decent but the best way to express it is it served my purpose and left some things to be desired. I may sometime end up in a retirement home but I will not end up here.

My husband has been at Sunrise since 4/23/2013. The staff is friendly and calls everyone by name. They are always ready to give assistance. Most meals are good, however every now and then???? My husband is still on the assisted living side, therefore I can only speak for that side. They do have activities, however most are centered around ladies. The ladies definitely out number the men. Based on my experience so far, I would give them 4 1/2 stars.

Warm inviting place. Smaller so I feel like my mom would not get lost in the shuffle. A little more assisted than I think she needs, but it would make me feel like she was in good hands as she makes the transition. Much more expensive, but you are paying for that service.

I felt it was in a weird place. I was disoriented in the building and uncomfortable about that but I wouldn't not put my parents there just because of that. I felt that they weren't as clean and updated. The people were very nice but you can tell it's an older facility. It's very dated.

It felt dated. The people were lovely but it was not as clean. I'm a little weird about cleanliness. I was raised a certian way so I know how my parents would see it, but this was our second choice. It seemed like the people there really enjoyed being there. They were genuinely happy. It's just that the overall presentation is huge.

It was a very nice community. It is on the costly side but you get what you pay for. The food was good and the best part was I didn't have to cook it. I would recommend Sunrise to anyone as long as they can afford it.

(Activities Not Rated) Sunrise is a good community. We have had some issues with a couple of things here and there that seem to be easy fixes. We are working with Sunrise to ensure they get taken care of and we prevent them from happening again. They do offer age in place so if you need a higher level of care your loved one can still stay here. When they are tending to a resident then they are tending to that resident, they do not seem to be rushing to get to the next resident so it improves the care. The outside and the inside of the community looks like a residence and provide a home like feeling. They do seem be slow to empty community trash can and keep those less traveled areas clean. Overall it's a pretty good community.

So far my experience with Sunrise has been good. From the moment we got there the staff was very helpful and very attentive. When my mom moved in she had a wound that needed to be addressed by a wound specialist and they have been fairly prompt, but now I think they are on vacation so it has been a couple of weeks since I've heard from them but I'm still pleased. My mom is doing so much better here than at the other community she was at (The Grove in Evanston, DO NOT GO THERE) and I am pleased so far. I visit my mom on a regular basis and compared with where we were before this place is great.
