I have seen some of the most competent and caring care givers here! They are so encouraging of my personal progress that I;m making through PT and OT. Many of the meals are delicious. Anytime our table can get served early (among the first served) it is wonderful.

My husband spent a year in the Assisted Living facility of the Quadrangle while I was still in the Independent facility. He received the best of care while he was there. His aides were extremely caring and always helpful. Everyone knew him as an individual even the servers in the dining room. I would highly recommend the place to anyone who needs extended care.

My mom visited Sunrise in Burlington MA about a year ago. She needed the kind of services they provide even then but she steadfastly refused to leave her home. It was a poor decision on her part as over the next 12 months she had numerous falls and ER visits by ambulance. It was a tough time for my brother and I as we worried about her daily wondering what would happen next. During that time I was comforted by Sunrise as they maintained communication with me offering several approaches of reengaging with my Mom in regard to a move that she really needed to make. Recently my mom had declined to a point where she could not raise herself from her couch to cook or clean herself or use the toilet or even unlock the door for visiting services to come in. The result was another ER visit where she was deemed as lacking capacity to care for herself and I had no idea what to do. I had all of this correspondence with Sunrise in my email folders…. I called them. I must have sounded desperate (I was) and they helped me immediately. I was fortunate there was an open room and their team went to work. They assessed my mom and had a service plan in 48 hours. Less than four days after my mom was removed by emergency teams from her home where she was unfed and unclean she was in a beautifully furnished room with clean clothes and sheets and eating a nice meal. A few days after that she was able to arrange for a hair appointment which she hasn’t done in over a year. After her hair was done my mom was happier than she had been in years. The transformation from her unsafe and unsanitary situation where I was worried every minute to her safe and clean room where she is helped to dress and wash and get 3 plus meals a day is no less than a miracle. My parents were living like hermits in their house, but age and too many Falls, had me find a safe, nearby place for them. My mother is making lots of friends, from residents, and staff-- it's like a family, everyone looks out for each other. The room and laundry are done for them. There is snack-time, entertainment, party nights, games during the day, day-trips. The staff and nurses work together 24/7, to ensure a safe, healthy environment. My mother always tells me "I love this place". She is no longer a Hermit, especially since she lost her husband... she has many friends now.

My mother was at sunrise and I loved the care she received. We have now placed a good friend there and we couldn’t be happier. Staff is kind and professional. I feel you should check sunrise out.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my loved one. While on the tour you could tell they were reaching out to a specific clientele who are used to a specific type of lifestyle. It’s a very nice place and the lobby was just gorgeous. Both the location and the landscape were beautiful. You get what you pay for with this community. I decided not to move my loved one here because it was too expensive.

The staff members here are good and they have been very responsive to our questions and concerns. They are working hard in getting my Mother-In-Law a set up routine to help her get acclimated. It is a well-kept facility and it has a good homey atmosphere. When I’ve been here around meal time the food smells good and the staff says they pride themselves on having good food. I would recommend this community to other families.

This facility is serving to be quite successful and we are quite happy with the. The property is not new but my love one does have a nice apartment. I don’t have any negative criticism. I rate the staff team very high, they are doing a great job tending to my love one. No problems what so ever. I recommend them to others that may be looking in to their options.

Sunrise is a nice facility with a homey feel. The staff and residents are so kind and caring with a kind word for everyone who comes through the door. Overall, this has been a good experience so far.

The process of finding an Assisted Living for my Mom was overwhelming not to mention getting my Mom to agree that it would greatly benefit her. My Mom lived alone for 12 years so the thought of her leaving her home was scary, she thought she was fine alone . When I met the staff at Grandbrier I was impressed and felt that this was the place for my mom . The staff is warm and welcoming, the facility is new and gorgeous and my mom is very happy, has made many friends, has been participating in so many activities and is happy she made the move!!!

Everything went well while Mom was here. The staff was very good in their interactions with her and they were really attentive. The food was very good and there was a good variety of it. There are all kinds of activities that the facility provides and I saw a bus come and go every once in a while to take the residents out. I know they also have a community room where they’ll show football games and everyone can get together to watch. Everything looked pretty clean while she was there and their response time was really good. If you needed someone to help, they were right there. It felt more like a home than a facility, which I really liked. Overall, I would recommend them.

My mom lived at Sunrise of Sandy for about eight years, first in assisted living, and then the last two years in their memory care. I had looked at several other assisted living homes, but I knew the moment I walked through the door at Sunrise that it was the place for my mom. It was warm and inviting, and I loved the overall appearance. It didn't feel too "high-class", which was important for my mom, who was a "farm girl" at heart. During my tour I noticed a variety of residents, and how they were out of their rooms, enjoying the activity of the hour together. The home was clean, the staff was friendly, and I recall that dinner was in the works of being prepared, and it smelled wonderful! I loved how they had such a beautiful dining room, complete with menus, always offering a few different choices from the daily offerings. When my mom first moved in, she was a little reluctant to get involved with activities, but with the encouragement from the staff, she was soon enjoying herself with others during activities. She was more comfortable dining with the same group of people, and the staff accommodated that very well. Within her first year there, I noticed the overall change in her health and happiness. The staff at Sunrise gave my mother the best love and care possible! She had purpose for getting up every morning! And she had dignity, right to the end. My family and I thought of the staff at Sunrise as "extended family", as they were just like family to my mom. Moving my mom to Sunrise of Sandy was the best decision I have ever made!

Friedly and obliging

While looking for a place for my mother, I have gone and seen numerous places. This location ended up winning. Everyone has gone out of their way to help my mother adjust. Out of all the places, this place spent more time with my mother with her questions and giving her answers. They weren’t so pushy compared to other staff at other locations. This area really felt like home. My mother really liked the color scheme too of the interior design: yellows and greens. It was similar to what my mom would have in her home. What I also liked was that they invited me back for a second tour to see how things were during different parts of the day: like lunch or their activities. It was just so welcoming. What I also liked is to see everyone up and about. I would see people walking down the hallways; people would be in the activity rooms, and people in the lobby area. The staff team really encouraged people to be social and out of their rooms. To me this was a big selling point. Their medical team is also outstanding. Before coming here, my mother had issues with sleeping too much. The nurses did some blood work with her and found that she was being over medicated. She was prescribed all this medication and they tried to explain to us that she doesn’t really need that. I am very pleased with their medical team and if my mom every needs anything she has a little button that she can press and someone will there as quickly as possible. One thing I will say that could use improvement is their food. To me, it seems very bland. I understand that there are seniors and the cook team is very conscious with their dietary needs, but it just seems that there is no variety. Their menu is put out by month. The dining area has a restaurant like atmosphere. It is quite big with tables that sit four people. The staff also matches you with people you would get along with. For any reason you don’t like sitting with that person, you just “play musical chairs” until you find someone you can social with. The staff seems to be real alert and responsive with that. Another huge selling point is how you pay everything. Compared to other places, this is one of the view that their rates were all inclusive causing it to be cheaper. Nothing was itemized, nothing was broken down, and everything was just included. This made my life easier because it just gets complicated if everything just started piling up with certain care services.

I moved my mom from California to Maryland. The staff at Sunrise Annapolis were very helpful and supportive.

I toured this community for my mom and it was nice and clean. The staff answered my questions and were helpful. But we thought it just wasn't the right fit.

We're very pleased with Sunrise. It's a nice place overall. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean, and we just generally have no complaints!

The community is fine for my mom. The staff are really open and friendly. Initially when she moved into the community she enjoyed it. Now they are working with Hospice to make her comfortable. Everything has been top notch, and they have been phenomenal with my mom.

Things are starting to fall into place for my mom here. She likes her room now that we have decorated it. The community has a home like atmosphere, welcoming. And it is so nice to see the improvement health wise in my mom. The massage therapist here has done wonders in relieving my mom's back pain, so now she is moving about so much better. She is also making friends and she goes down to the dining room early to make sure she gets her table with her friends. Mom likes that she is now seeing more of her family since her move here as well. It is so good to have my mom tell me that "she had a good day today."
