Take mom

I would give this community a shot. My mother is well taken care of and the food is great and everyone is always there. All of the staff are very helpful and willing to step up whenever you need any assistance. The administration is wonderful, there was a mistake on my first bill and they were all over it and making sure that things were corrected and fixed. They are great.

Truly a Place to Call Home

Sterling Court at Roseville is a warm, wonderful and very cozy Senior Living Community. It's a perfect "Goldilocks" among its competitors. Sterling Court is not so huge that you lose yourself in a sea of residents. But it's not so small like one of those board and cares. The staff at Sterling Court at Roseville are exceedingly kind, warm and GENUINE. One truly feels at home here. They are all experienced, well-trained and professional as well. Health and Wellness is clearly a priority, and they offer an amazing 16 hours of licensed nursing seven days a week! The food is also fantastic! Tasty, nutritious and perfectly balanced between health-conscious cuisine and good old-fashioned comfort food. You'll never go a day here without a choice of entertaining activities, light exercise options, and numerous special events that often include live entertainment! If it was possible to build a "cruise ship without the waves" then they have done so with Sterling Court at Roseville!

Smaller community. More hands-on.

It's pretty much what we expected it would be. When we were first touring different facilities, Plateau Village stood out as a little bit smaller than some of the others. They're a little more hands-on because they don't have as many residents to keep track of and help. Because it's a memory care unit, sometimes clothing and things gets mixed up, which is frustrating. But when I come to the staff with questions or concerns, they're always helpful. Plateau Village also seemed to be the best bang for the buck - they were the lowest price of the three places we toured.

My tour review

This was a very nice community and this was a second choice just in case my loved one had to relocate. We ended up not going with this community just because my loved one was not prepared to move at the time.

Our tour experience

I was able to have an in person tour and it was a very nice facility but I wanted to move back home closer to my family. However, the staff members were all very pleasant to work with.

Definitely recommend

When our loved one first moved in, they were very anxious, stressed out and angry towards us. However, when we called the next day to check in, she had done a complete 180. Her mood completely changed, she already starting meeting friends and the staff members. She has a downstairs apartment that has her own personal yard that she can walk out to. It really has become the best fit for her.

Easy, Positive Experience

The food is good with a good variety for the residents to choose from, and they have a new chef. They have been taking the residents on tours and other recreational games for the residents to choose from. I would look around to compare, you will probably that what Grossmont Gardens if offering is the top notch for money. The community is situated on a hill; however the assisted devices can be difficult to get out of the community for those that need assistance with canes, walkers, or wheelchairs.

Wonderful Place

We chose Grossmont Gardens because of the type of care that they provided. He loves the food and has gained weight which is awesome, they have a variety on the menu and is able to choose what he wants to eat for each meal. The staff are very accommodating with zoom visits, we recently got into a different tier and they are starting to do outdoor visits which is wonderful. I would definitely recommend them to others looking

Positive experience with Grossmont Gardens

We chose Grossmont Gardens because of the proximity to family, recommendations from friends and family members, and their good reputation. My dad was in memory care unit and his room was plenty big for what his needs were. The thing that stuck out to us most about this facility was the caring staff members. I would highly recommend.

a happy and quaint garden side community

My husband loved this community, he wasn't too active but there were activities to do. Very home-like community, nice remodeled, new carpet and new paint, rooms were a good size and comfortable. The food was cold but the quality was good. I would definitely recommend this community

A lovely place to live

I love their staff. The rooms are comfortable and they are kept super clean. The entry process was amazing. The admissions person was like an angel. Overall, everything has been really good. The communication is great. The head nursing staff are incredible. The only negative is that the food isn't desirable.

Excellent Care

My mother and a brother have lived in a studio apartment in the assisted living section for almost two years, fondly referred to as the "Gardens". They have often told me that they really like living here. I visit quite often and am always impressed by the good attitudes of the staff and the respect they show the residents. Whenever a nurse is requested they attend to the situation immediately. I'm always impressed with how quickly they respond. If there has ever been an emergency I get a call right away. I have peace of mind knowing my mother and brother are in good care. There has been a change of management recently and we have noticed an improvement in the meals, landscaping and building repairs. Any call for mantainence is handled promptly. I highly recommend Grossmont Gardens for anyone looking in the La Mesa area.

Another great facility that had a special twist that she loved and it afforded her a little more privacy. It was called the Alcove. This is the one we chose. I will be getting the papers processed for rental. Thank you so much.

They really care

It starts from the very top. I think Elmcroft corporate structure has a lot of quality control in place, but also in Elmcroft of La Mesa, the directors really care and are very knowledgeable, the resident services director communicates well with care takers and makes sure everything is done appropriately, the executive director is very involved and activities are always a delight. It's always nice to come in and being met with smiling faces.

Among the reasons why we selected this facility for my father-in-law were its affordability, the friendliness and can-do spirit of the staff, the spacious room size, and the apparent satisfaction of the residents already there. We toured with [name removed], who was the most personable and knowledgeable employee to give us a tour during our journey to find assisted living for my dad-in-law. While on the tour, residents and staff alike were polite and smiling at each other, with one resident even sharing, "I love it here, and they don't pay me to say that!" The spacious one-bedroom my dad-in-law has is quite a value, as other facilities charge as much or more for a studio. The response time between when my dad-in-law pushes his pendant and a staff member comes to answer has been really good. So far, I don't think he's waited longer than 10 minutes. The first time he tried it was 3 minutes. The nursing home he transferred from had nowhere near those response times and overall lacked the politeness this staff has. Speaking of nursing home, we had just a 48-hour notice to move him when we were informed that Medicare only paid for a month.(Not sure why they couldn't have told us that from the beginning.) We had some hints he'd be let out soon, so we had stated some tours already, including at Brookdale Magnolia, in the weeks prior to his discharge. The Brookdale Magnolia staff took on so much of this hurried transition, from his assessment with their nurse, to calling the nursing home to prod them along to releasing the physicians report, to their nurse asking if she could be included via speakerphone to listen to my dad-in-law's discharge meeting to make sure she understood the care plan he would need. [Name removed] and [name removed] especially were always on top of things to let us know where things stood in the process and ask how they could help us. As stressful as the sudden move was, it would have been much worse without all their help. He has settled in more and seems to enjoy the food here much more than he did at the nursing home.

Beating expectations

Mom has been living there a few months now. I spent quite a while finding the right place and Grossmont Gardens seems to be it. So far she loves it. I have lunch with her a few times a week and the staff is helpful, she likes the food and we've encountered no problems at all. The grounds are quiet and well tended - it's peaceful and mom likes it. This has met all our expectations and then some.
