Our walk through was very nice I'd like to move there, but my daughter says it's over budget - you know - champagne taste and beer money. I'm very disappointed I can't just reserve a room and move in,

First I would like to thank you Liz for your help. My wife and I visited Emeritus at Roseville last week and found that it was everything we had been looking for. I can now finally relax and know that my Aunt Norma is in a safe and extremely well run community. We were impressed with the Manager, Mayra Voet, and all her staff of well trained assistants. My Aunt appeared to be happy and satisfied with her surroundings. With us in Tennessee and Aunt Norma in California, the feeling of trust and knowing that she is safe is very gratifying.

I moved my father into the facility within one day and he has never wanted to return to his private residence. The first thing that convinced him to stay was the food and I love it too when I come to visit. It is a beautiful facility with a fire going in the fireplace all day long. The staff and medical staff are all excellent in there treatment of everyone. I feel so relieved to have found this for my father he is safe, cared for, fed and is surrounded by wonderful friendly residents. Oh did I say it's affordable as well. Don't hesitate to check this out for your loved one.

Grossmont Gardens has created a comfortable and safe network of care for its residents. The independent living apartments are upgraded and sparkling clean upon move-in. The staff are cheerful, caring and always ready serve. They provide an extensive "menu" of extra services from bathing help to medication delivery that keep their residents feeling secure. We are thankful for their faithful care of our dear friend.

This is a sister facility of the Emeritus my mom is in now. They charged about $1000 a month more which was unfortunate because the one in crown point is only 3 miles away from my house and a really nice place. We would have chosen this one but we couldn't afford the extra cost.

Thoughtful and kind nursing staff. Willing to communicate my moms needs directly as her POC. They hold regular events to keep mom moving. I do wish that had more personal engagement and communication about housekeeping needs.

So far in the past 3 weeks that my husband has been there, the personnel has been very helpful and friendly, room linens cleaned, with a variety of activities and also quiet time for everyone. I go there at different times/ different days, to have a general overview of the place.

Nursing staff is great, persistent, and forward thinking. [name removed]( Exec Dir) does a good job actively managing problematic patients and situations. I like they try to incorporate families in the events. I do wish they had more staff capable of interaction with introverted people. I'm happy having my mom here. No facility is cheap but GG has good value and the nursing skill is why my mom is here.

the staff are all really friendly and welcoming. As a caregiver I feel very confident about having my dad living there. They are quick to respond to concerns.

My dad has pretty severe dementia. He seems to be fitting in at Grossmont Gardens memory care pretty well. The staff there seemed kind and genuine. The facilities and food are good. My dad seems to be doing better there than he was at my house. He didn’t really have anybody to connect with while we were gone at work. I feel comfortable knowing that he has other people to hang out with during the day.

I keep moving more things into this lovely place. The people are very friendly, both the residence and the staff. This facility is clean. My view is spectacular. If I had any complaints, it would be that I am living here in independent living and most of the residents are older andin assisted living. The food is mostly good. Breakfast is always. Excellent. Lunch is usually good. Dinner is mostly good, but there have been a few that were not so good.

Seems like a nice place... there were a couple of hiccups. Some Medications were forgotten over the weekend. Room space is pretty tight. I am sure it takes awhile until you feel comfortable. Wish there was more than two baths a week. I would recommend to others.

Care services - There have been occasions when I have asked for a wellness check because I couldn't get a hold of the resident on her cell, and it took me calling back to get any news. A land line in the room did not seem to be much of an option two ago. The cost of minimum care beyond residency will be over [fee removed] in January. That is way too high of a cost for someone living independently and just needs a presence, in case of a fall, while they shower completely on their own. The resident pulled the emergency string in her room because her cell phone was not working and she could not walk. It took 30 minutes for someone to arrive. The staff could not have known what the emergency was so 30 minutes is shockingly long to respond. There had been a change in ownership to Grossmont Gardens, and the food service has significantly gone down hill. The choices are few, repetitive, and the service in the dining room can be painfully slow. Understaffing and high turnover seem to be a problem.

The location was nice, they were easy to work with and were flexible. We were needing a temporary respite stay, so it was a little out of the typical placements so we appreciated their flexibility as other places would not offer that type of arrangement. And good pricing helped!

The quality of food is very poor. It's on older facility so sometimes the residents don't have hot water (this has happened twice since February- one time it lasted 10 days). The grounds are nice...lots of plants.

Overall experience. Overall a positive experience. My dad has been here 2 years now and is very happy having made good friends with other residents. Cleanliness. Facility is extremely clean and my dad's apartment is regularly tended to. He himself has some issues with refusing showers and care due to his dementia, but the staff work with me to address this when it happens. Friendliness of staff. The staff are all wonderful and have a great relationship with my dad. He loves the staff that work with him directly and they are the main reason we are staying at Sterling Court, even though it would be helpful to move him closer to where I live now. Care staff are very communicative with me and make sure I'm aware of all aspects of my dad's care. Quality of care. Quality of care is excellent, though my dad is at the max level of care that they can provide. With his dementia, being wheelchair bound, catheter dependence, etc, it is a lot to maintain and they do a great job. Meals/Dining. Food is good, my dad is happy with the options. I think there are fewer low-sugar / diabetic options than would be ideal, but my dad's dementia also means he isn't always making the best choices. Activities. My dad doesn't really participate (he's a bit stubborn), but I will say that the front desk ladies really try to get him to join in. I know there is a wide variety. We do enjoy the family/holiday celebrations! Value for Cost. Being at the highest care level it is a pricy monthly fee. I feel that the value is good and am satisfied with the care and attention that my dad receives.
The on-site staff at Laguna was very helpful and caring overall and they dealt with the issues and concerns I had quickly and efficiently. Laguna was our only experience in Assisted Living, so we can't compare it to any other facility. However, compared to skilled nursing and long term care, it's above and beyond!
