My mom and I visited StoryPoint on two separate occasions. We were welcomed during both visits by multiple staff members who showed tremendous respect to my mom during this time of change. We moved my 87 year old mom into Storypoint Mequon in October of 2023 and we could not be happier. The entire community has been so welcoming and lovely to work with. The facility itself is beautiful, warm and inviting and fosters a real sense of community and family. The activities and the central bar and fireplace area create a perfect place for residents to sit and visit and has really helped my mom make friends quickly. The highlight of the facility and the most important thing for our mom is the staff. Everyone from the Directors to the nighttime staff are caring, kind and helpful people. Within one week they all knew my mom by name and they greet her with a hug. We really believe it is a perfect place and wish we would have made the move sooner.

Our situation was a little unusual, as Mom had been in a large, impersonal feeling assisted living facility due to a hospitalization last year. She has since recovered beyond what we had hoped and now needed to be in a more (and less expensive!) independent living situation with aspects of AL (an emergency call button), friendly people, personal outdoor space, a cozy community feeling, and a place that allows access to whatever care she might need in the future. I appreciated that they listened to our circumstance and recommended two Holiday Living properties, and scheduled appointments for us to see them. One of those was Beaverdale Estates and we were very happy that she liked what she saw! She is settling in very well, likes her apartment, and feels at home there. Although she isn't one to participate in a lot of activities, she is very glad to be there and enjoys visiting with her neighbors whenever she's out and about. A Place for Mom was Instrumental in getting her here.
