Spring Oak Senior Living

Soring Oak is wonderful for my mom. The rooms are spacious, and the facility has an airy feel. The staff is caring and I feel mom is taken care of well. Mom loves the activities and has made friends. She says the food is not the best. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not do much. That's the reason for the four stars. Otherwise, Spring Oak is great community.

I think my mother's situation was not typical, so I won't judge them on things they couldn't do anything about. I think in general, the facility was good. I would recommend them. They went above and beyond when my mother first got there. She was combative, and they worked through that even though they did not have to, and that is a quality you won't find everywhere. From what I could tell, they worked hard to engage the residents that were mobile with outings and entertainment. The food seemed good. The staff was a mixed bag, but overall pleasant enough.

The community is friendly and inviting . My mother is happy there . We chose Spring Oak because of the 1 year spend down option . Few facilities offered that option .

The facility is very nice. Clean. Doesn't have that "assisted living smell" that some others have. They have recently redone a bunch of the areas. The staff is phenomenal to work with. From the director, to the nurses, to the woman at the front desk. Everyone is eager to help and happy to answer the million questions we had. I would absolutely recommend Spring Oak of Toms River.

[name removed] at the front desk right as you enter through the community is terrific, so pleasant and helpful everyday. However the meals could definitely improve, but we would recommend Spring Oak of Toms River to other families.

Overall experience has been positive . My Main criticisms would be that they seem to be understaffed . Workers are diligent but they are very busy. Could be more organized . A lot of things are scheduled through the front desk reception area where communication needs to be better .

The frinedliness of the staff members is what really attracted me to Spring Oak of Toms River. They also worked with me on the pricing and kept the same price we were paying previously at another place - I really appreciated that. I would absolutely recommend the memory care side of this facility, the others I have no experience with.

Their communication is very good. Very helpful with any questions or problems. Biggest improvement could be cleanliness.

I would say to plan for the future because with expenses things go really quick. The staff return my calls and follow up in regards to my loved one and the needs. From what I have seen in the community is is very clean.

I like the people here. Initially I got a good feeling about Spring Oak when I toured and was looking for a place. They were very helpful with the paperwork. It was a lot of work to get my mom in, but they were very helpful. And the admissions manager made an unpleasant situation as pleasant as it could be. The facility itself is decent. It's not a luxury hotel, but for what my mother and people in her situation need, I think it's fine. And they do provide adequate space. I've not tried the food, but I've been there when it's delivered, and it looks good to me. For my mom, it depends on the day. Sometimes she really likes it, other times not as much. Really the only thing is it's a little bit pricey. But having looked at other places, the cost is comparable or even better. And they only require a 1-year spend down, when some of the others require two.

It's a really good place, not the absolute best I can think of, but still very good. They were very accommodating to my friend's needs and very friendly. The facility was clean. We had a problem with the heat when the weather first turned cold, but they resolved that issue. And it was a comfortable place to live. The area we would have liked to see improvement in was response time to medical help. It wasn't so much the staff not doing their job. They're just understaffed and needing more employees. But I think that's true of most places at this time.

My tour at Carolina Gardens at York was nice. The place was clean, although it was a much older facility. I actually knew part of the staff who worked there, which made me feel at ease. My overall impression - this would have been my second choice out of several places that we looked at.

This is the most comprehensive facility that I discovered in my explorations. They really take care of everything. I was taking my loved one to a family practitioner as well as a number of specialists, and I was very frustrated. It was difficult to get in and difficult to have follow-up conversations. But The Elks has a nurse practitioner that visits once a week, in addition to the nursing staff that's there all the time. And they were able to get her medications adjusted and address issues related to dementia. I'm so grateful they were able to care for her and get her to a place where she's comfortable. I was chasing all around Lynchburg trying to make that happen. I think this is a fabulous place, all things included. My only issue is that it's an older facility - from the fixtures, to furniture, to walls and things. But they've already started remodeling. They've added personnel and started a restoration process under new ownership. And I'm looking forward to the things that they have coming.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Enjoy arts & crafts, meals & nurse support with medication

Nice place to live - only complaint sometimes i do not get my showers or bath assistance. The meals are good, kitchen staff make sure you are not hungry. Rooms are clean, my house keepers are helpful. Activities before covid is great. Nurse staff is great.

I enjoyed my tour and was impressed with the staff

This seemed to be a pretty good community when I visited. The people were nice. The community looked clean. The community we chose was closer to family.
