We've been having a lot of problems with the evening staff. The day crew is wonderful and some of the ladies even come into my father's room and talk to him. Our concern with the night crew is we had it set up for them to remind my father to take his medication. They agreed on this from the beginning. He needs help with his nebulizer and inhaler. They have consistently forgotten to remind him to take his medicine. They've even forgotten to get him for meal time.Our family is there everyday and we continually have problems when the night staff comes in. Members of the crew have even lied about giving him medication and argued with our family. Some of the staff is very imitating and make us very uncomfortable. We have also had issues with the housekeeping not coming in as often as they are supposed to.They are doing better since we brought it to the directors attention. My father enjoys it here and has made a few friends. We are very pleased with how well he has adjusted and we chose this community because it is so close to us.Unfortunately, if they cannot resolve the issues with his medication we will have to move him to another community.

So far it has been a work in progress for my mother here at this community. I would like for them to follow through on many of the things that were promised to us in the beginning. We were told she would have transportation to and from her doctors appointments, but they have not provided any rides. They said they have an on site doctor, but after the move when found out he didn't take her insurance. She says the meals are horrible. I wish they would be more upfront about the service they have available.

the building is nice, but extremely understaffed. The manager is not professional enough to speak face to face about difficult issues. my mother was kicked out of her room due to personality conflicts and had to find out about it second hand. that put a bind on family and social workers and nursing home. really disappointed in the managerial staff. the building is beautiful, but beware, you still have to do the majority of the care for your loved one.

okay, but not the best! Not enough Activities. Staff could be more caring!!

Food service not great at this time but changes are reported to be in process . Needs improvement: meals mediocre and usually not served warm, in our present experience. Hopeful though. Staff is generally above average! & there is transportation.

Looks good at first but goes downhill from there. The rooms were dark and the overall feel was like a nursing home. There are better options in Omaha.

This facility has gone down hill over the past 3 years. They are cutting corners where ever they can. They actually run out of food during lunch and dinner. You can sit for over an hour to place your order for a meal. The basic foods are not cooked properly. The facility manager have changed 3 times in the last 4 years. The staff is not very friendly. There is little communication with the residents.

The Harrison is not a facility for the elderly whom have memory issue's. Whether it's simply short term or the beginning stages of dementia. Nor do I believe they can handle a true emergency with regards to their nursing personnel.

The Waterford is a very nice place. Apartments are spacious and well maintained. Our dad was evaluated and admitted to this type B assisted living based on the need for 2 person transfer. Once he was moved in the administration told us he was taking up too much of the staff time and we needed to hire personal care. This is a type b facility but the ratio of care givers to occupants is too low. There are only 3 CNA's for 90 people based on what a CNA told me. She said we needed to petition for them to hire more staff.

It had a memory loss area and we went in there and it was so dark and dreary! I was concerned about this because I have memory loss. There was no way in God's green Earth I would live there!

This is a memory care place. I was not impressed with the director, she seemed distant. She took me into one of the facilities that she thought would be a good fit. They were serving lunch and the food did not look at all appealing. They were having baked potatoes that were baked and over baked, they had that yellowish brown look. It looked like they had the people so drugged up that they were just zoning around. Hospital feel. She showed me the room, there were two residents to a room with no type of privacy between the two residents - one big room, no curtains, nothing.

I did not like it. That's just personal preference. It seemed dingy. It had nothing to do with décor. I did not factor décor in any of my decision making. I don't know how old it was. It's in a nice setting. The assisted living and independent all in the same facility. We didn't really like the community area. We felt they were too independent. We needed more services that they could provide.

Needs a refreshing. Laundry machines were old and rusty. Front desk had chairs that were old and peeling. Facility smelled unpleasant. People were nice, but wouldn’t move my dad there.

My wife has Ahlzheimer disease and with that disease comes horrible changes in the person you love. We moved her into Waterford because it seemed like a good environment with caring people. We were very mistaken. When she would have a typical Alzheimer's anger event, instead of trying to help her, they closed her in her room and left her alone behind a closed door. They wouldn’t give her the meds she needed, so I had to go there late in the evening to give her the meds she needed and spend the night so that I could be there to give her the morning meds. It was over an hour drive each way from our house in Robertson County, so it was impractical to dive back snd forth twice daily. We moved her to Ocean Hospital in Waco and then to [community removed], that is as wonderful as Waterford is not.

Had a difficult time getting parents seen by NP. Took 29 days to get efills of medication. Begged everyday. Was told we’ll put them on the list. Why not on list before arrival?We weren’t told to come w/30 days of meds. Nurse Mgr doesn’t check voicemail. Assistant Nurse Mgr doesn’t even have voicemail set up! I gave up & took parents to dr outside of facility. Facility recently acquired by Sonida. They are cheap & cut corners. Food is awful!!They have an “always available menu” —never in stock. Always told “truck will be here Monday.” It’s Thurs!! Ask for a coke—you get Shasta. $[removed]k/month & Shasta?? Got each of parents separate apt’s. Reserved rooms 2 weeks before arrival. One apartment had broken air conditioning. They put in a temp unit. Still broken after 8 weeks. Part for AC is supposedly on order. Blinds broken on both windows. Why put someone in a room with everything broken-with 2 wks notice?Bedroom is a weird shape & super small. No orientation or tour. Fire drill was a disaster.

The upstairs neighbor was very very noisy. Put in a formal complaint and nothing was done about it. She was never talked to. Both faucets were leaking, told manager who put in a maintenance order and that was in early September, never fixed. Internet is a complete joke. I could never stream any apps to watch movies. It would always buffer and shut down. Terrible. The weekly housekeeping was a joke too. The worst housekeeping if seen. Never picked up anything to clean under it. Vacuuming, whipping off countertops.

Better options out there. Medication management lacking. Rent went up significantly after the first year. Meals are fair at most. Frequently told that they were not allowed to assist my mother with basics like helping to remove her dental partial. Understaffed.

I found that the facility was very tired looking. Although it was clean, there was very little outside area and it was very loud outside because it is located so close to the beltway.

Within the last 3 to 12 months, I’ve noticed that there has been a significant staff shortage at Waterford Of Decatur from Sales to wellness director, clinical coordinator, and mainly issues with the med tech. Are the residents being taken care of properly? Because the lack of staff shortage?

My mom has been a resident here for about 6 months and I was able to visit her for the first time recently. I found most of the staff during the visit to be very friendly and helpful, however I was greatly concerned to see signs of neglect for my mom. She is in memory care, and her room had a very foul odor, 4 pairs of soiled jeans laid out, and soiled bed sheets. Her toe nails were about an inch long and brown. It's obvious that she not longer has some sensory awareness that would alert her to painful feet (ie trying to fit those feet into her shoes!), and basic hygiene awareness (which she was impeccable with prior to her decline). I shared my concerns with the head nurse, wondering why if my mom is getting shower assist, no one would alert the nurse to my moms need of a podiatrist. She did not have an answer for that. After my visit, I spoke the marketing person, and she was very dismissive of my concerns, said the case manager would call me, but that has not happened.
