We moved from our private residence on lakefront property to a 2 bedroom apartment here at the Waterford in Mesquite. Everyone from staff to other residents are very nice and helpful. I love that it's all inclusive. However, we do grocery shop for snacks and to replace meals we don't care for. I do miss having at least a small kitchen. So make sure you consider that when your making your decision. It's a very quiet senior facility. They have many planned activities you can join in on. I can't think of anything negative to tell you about living here. The cafeteria is nice. It's very clean, and the food is better than we expected it would be. We have a tiny kitchenette with a small sink, refrigerator & microwave. Thats the extent of our kitchen. We have a large wrap around balcony. Closets could be bigger. Each floor has 2 washers & 2 dryers. We haven't had any issues using them when it's laundry time. Come on by & check it out. Maybe we'll be neighbors!! See ya there!!

When Mom was there she had problems sometimes with getting the nursing staff to get back to her or to listen to her in regards to her concerns. In regards to the administration, Mom would sometimes complain that they didn't inform her on changes in fees or things like that. I don't know if staff and administration has changed since the company changed hands.

I would tell others, to check 4 or 5 other places thoroughly before going there. There was no supervisor or anyone in authority there when we were called, and informed that my loved one had passed.

One suggestion or concern, what to do in a power outage or tornado, there have a been a couple of them this year. Would have thought there would be a generator to at least Power the phones. I don't know how cost compares to others at this point, but i do value the service. Wish there was a pool table. We would recommend this community to others based on the experience we have had

My father-in-law is meeting new people and getting the chance to do things. The residents can be as active as they choose to be. He was at home by himself for the last 5 years. He is slowly adjusting and everyone is encouraging him to do more.

Nursing may consider monthly inservice on infection control, especially for med techs. Recently, I observed a med tech sneezing and coughing into tissues while handling meds during pass without sanitizing her hands . Consequently, many residents fell ill within a month's time. We need someone to head the kitchen that understands that the meals are sometimes the very last pleasure to which residents look forward. Mahalo for allowing us to be heard.

West Shores has had some issues with staffing. Their director of nursing left and they have a constant turnover of nurses and CNs. That causes instability of care. Also, their Administrator is not great at followup when issues are addressed. The nurses and CNs that have care for Mom have been wonderful. Very friendly and caring. My only challenge is the turnover and staffing issues. West Shores has a very caring team that helped make the transition from living at home easier. They have really nice rooms, friendly staff, great food and ways to socialize and make friends through lots of activities.

The staff at The Wellington is excellent and we would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

The Wellington at Dayton is a nice facility with very caring people. We had some issues using the nurses for rx care. Getting the wrong pills at times. We stopped using that and handle it ourselves I would recommend them to others - but not the nursing for RX help.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Mom likes it there and seems happy. They make sure she gets to her meals, helps her with bathing and let me know if she needs anything. They even facilitated getting her hair styled.

Overall we have been very pleased with the Summit Place community. We would recommend this community to other families and we have already recommended them to others.

people are great

The executive director over Rose Arbor and Wildflower Lodge has retired after only a little more than a year. The sales director is no longer there - I don't know the reason. The director over Wildflower Lodge recently left to take another position - I think after less than two years. It seems there's a lot of turnover in these places. Overall I am happier with this facility than I was with [removed].

Staff turnover seems high. Then. We folks have to learn Moms routines. They could improve on the food by having a dietitian meet with the manager for budget guidance.

I would not hesitate to advise them to join this community. We have had very good experiences with the staff, accommodations, activities, and assistance available. In-house PT and OT, as well as, the nurse practitioners and especially helping hands have been extraordinarily beneficial. The only negative Has been the quality of food and consistency of service in the dining room.

I have been here for 18 months. The employees overall are friendly and very helpful. Activities have been varied and enjoyable. The fact that transportation for doctor's appointments is provided has been extremely helpful.
