Village Shores is a friendly clean facility. Most of the staff is very personable. There have been a few billing mistakes (charges for services not requested) that I have not been able to clear up with the billing staff. So make sure you review you monthly statement closely. The prices are a bit high, but are in line with other facilities in the area. They offer one-on-one PT for residents but there is a waiting list due to lack of staff. The nursing staff is hard to get a hold of if you are a family member calling to check on your loved one. Generally they do call back but not for several hours, and only if you leave a couple messages. The dining room offers a small variety of food, along with daily specials. But the food seems to be overly salted and given that this is a senior facility, that is concerning. But my father loves this place - the help and care he is getting along with the new friends he has made. And as long as he is getting the care he needs and is happy, I will continue to keep him here. I should add that they are setting up a 'family committee' to influence the quality of service for the residents and I have joined that group. I think they are trying to improve any areas that are lacking and this is a good step in that direction. We will see how this goes.

They make us feel welcomed, and they are friendly. They could do better, communicating with the billing, and receiving a billl in a timely manner would be nice.

This facility is good, it's clean and they provide good care. The food is ok, good quality and variety. Housekeeping/laundry is weekly and they do a good job. Communication with the family is good, they're good about letting me know what mom needs and keeping me updated. Staff is pretty good, not too many complaints. The first month was rough, but once they brought an additional staff member in for the memory care unit it got much better. Before that, since mom was more efficient than some of the other residents, it seemed like she got less care/attention. But they really turned things around by adding another staff member. All places we looked at were on about an 8/1 ratio for residents to staff, but the extra person here in the memory care unit made a big difference. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Excellent facility with a friendly and competent staff! They take excellent care of my father. The staff is well trained and treats residents and visitors with kindness and patience. There is always senior staff available in the event they are needed and they display the same level of kindness. I toured many facilities prior to choosing this one for my father, and I definitely made the right choice!

Our family had an in person tour and the tour was fine but the environment was not quite as open, inviting and bright which is what we were looking for.

I toured Brightondale Senior Campus and I was very impressed, it was a nice community. They made the top of my list, but I chose another community because Brightondale's building was old and needed some repairs. Also, one of the administrative members made an unprofessional comment; she stated that she was going to try and convince me to move into the assisted living side instead of independent.

I would recommend Silver Creek to those who are looking. They're very easy to work with. They really seem to care about their residents. Things have worked out pretty well for my family and I. Silver Creek has a good plan in place for our loved one.

My loved one stayed here temporarily a long time ago and things were stolen. That could have just been one person though so I do not want to rate the place bad. Overall the care did seem to be pretty good.

One of the reasons we chose this community was the marketing director [name removed]. She embraced us the second we come for our tour, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. They had a welcome board set up with our family on it so people knew we were coming by. She had us join them for lunch and was able to answer all of our questions. They have a great chef there that makes excellent meals and a lovely baker on staff. They also have really good activities. However, they could work to improve on their internal controls like - safety and security. Every night the doors are supposed to be closed at 5:30PM, and after [dates removed] of our loved one being there, that was just implemented. Also they could work to improve the consistency of the covid protocols. Sometimes the staff does not wear masks or gloves, and on the weeks it is lacking more because their is no management team on site.

This is a great community for your aging parent. My loved one had to press the call button and the staff were there immediately to assist them. My loved one doesn't care for the meal options. The bistro is better than the dining room.

We like how this community is in proximity to our family, but we do think they could work on having more a therapeutic treatment plan for those residents with memory care deficits.

When I arrived on [date removed] and came in the front door (I felt very welcome) when I came in the lobby. People that work here are very professional. Food is great. The patio is good also. The staff is nice. Curious. . . I would really recommend it.

Our family had an in person tour and it was okay, but they really talked up their swimming area. If you are a memory care patient it is not easily accessible, it is between two buildings and you have to walk through the garage and we just did not like that.

The staff overall the people that are there are really good. My loved one is there too and he is loving it the meals are great. They have activities like bingo, horse racing, periodically people come in for entertainment and also dominoes for the residents to play. Compared to other places we visited I feel that we are getting good care and a bang for our buck.
