Senior Lifestyle - Suites

Older building. Area was too congested. Day of my visit, many streets blocked off to traffic. Area is affected when anything is going on in down town area. Parking limited on streets. Also have to wait until parking in building is available and suite is available with shower and tub. Not for me. Will continue to look.

I toured this community when looking for a place for my mother. I wasn't here for very long because I didn't feel the environment was a good fit for my mother.The staff was okay but we ended up choosing another community in the area.

A resident of the past 5 years. I have not had any problem with the staff or with any maintenance issues that were addressed promptly.

My grandpa has been doing well since the move to Senior Suites of South Shore. The community is well maintained and they do well with keeping the community clean throughout. We are very happy with the friendliness of the staff. The community offers a variety of activities daily for the residents to keep busy.

I took a tour of this community and the Assistant Property Manager showed me an apartment. I thought it was too small for us. The staff were very nice and we even tried a complimentary meal, which was good.

Met Staff and received information and pamphlet before office was closing for the day. More farther south and east than I planned but did like the surroundings. Could not see an apartment.

I visited unannounced. I was satisfied with the property, although I was a bit concerned that it was a long way from her doctor on public transportation.

This manager does answer our questions, or if she doesn't know she gets back with us and asks for our patience!

Senior Suites is a beautiful setting but we could use much improvement all over the building.

She went into the city and signed the lease unbenownst to me and did it all on her own. It's an area I grew up in and I left the city over 30 years ago but she likes it there. She must be happy or she wouldn't have moved there. When I visited I didn't meet any of the staff, as far as any smells I didn't detect anything but I was pretty much out of the loop besides the initial phone call

Limited space. Rooms the size of a postage stamp! Rent based upon income and I'm still working. NOT enough room. Pets welcome.

The managers are really nice. I can't rest very well because of the doors slamming all times of day and night. The building structure allows noise from upstairs and next apartment. Sound like someone is constantly dropping furniture upstairs and next door. Sound like someone is doing plumbing work in the kitchen for 3 or 4 hours every day I am cooking. I can hear them talking next door apartment. My apartment is next to the elevator and laundry room. They use the laundry room ALL DAY and NIGHT. I have complained to the manager and she said she will take care of it. I do believe she is doing the best she can. She give us a lot of activities and notices. I have confidence she will make things better. I do like living here but the noise is making me very nervous.

As soon as my Mother Saw It she knew that she wanted to live there. It was everything thing that she needed and wanted. My sister lives right around the corner, and my brother lives (7) blocks away. We visited (2) other Senior Suites, but they were not to her liking. I'm very grateful to Rachel, for her Perseverance, she was truly a delight to work with. To start a lot of residences will not state what issues are...some people can't open or barely open the windows, we asked many times for cameras on all floors in the common are they claim it us illegal when it is not because we found 3 homeless people this past winter and there is a resident who states her nephew/ grandson picks locks....makes no difference. The grounds are not taken care of...the iron fence is rotting through in places. The office is only open Mon, Wed and Friday. No camera in the back parking lot one only entrance and people park on the side of the Building making times to enter or exit the property. No real security.

My mother moved in this senior apartment complex on [date removed]. She was excited about regaining her independence back. The building appeared to be fairly clean. Almost [date removed] the building has taken a turn for the worst. The carpets have not been vacuumed or shampooed in over a year or so. The reason my family and I were given was because they are short staffed. This building also have a bed bug and roach infestation due to the filth in this building particularly on the 4th and 5th floor. Roaches have been found in the washing machines. Our seniors should not have to live this way. My mother's new lease due in October and of course the rent has increased. The lease stated the reason for the increase is to keep the building maintained. We have not seen any maintenance except on the first floor. My family and I would like to see all of our concerns met before the new lease is signed.
