I could go on for a long while about all the issues there and how they have continued to decline year by year but I'll make do with my last experience with them. My mother was a 9 year resident and passed away 2 weeks ago. She had been in hospice in her apartment for a few months. I got a call from the lovely hospice nurse to tell me she had passed. I have yet to hear from anyone at the Addison. No calls or emails. No condolences. NOTHING! I have already removed everything from her apartment without a whisper from anyone. That is truly disgraceful.

They are unable to deal with advanced dementia patients. They need to Hire people who can deal with advanced dementia instead of expecting families to hire outside 24 hour care which is an added expense on top of the monthly charges from Addington to the family. No family can afford close to $[removed] a month.

Addington Place of Lakeside Vista has many problems. I have observed the lack of care for residents. Residents are not given their showers on a timely basis. A resident may go for 10 days without a shower. Briefs are not changed throughout the day so a resident may sit in urine soaked Depends for hours. Her Depends may leak onto chairs, bedding, though clothing, etc. Food is average at best. The building is old and has no central air conditioning. Water pipes have frozen and burst in the winter. There is little programming for residents. The administration is dishonest and there is no way to contact the owners that live in Chicago. Don’t use this facility.

Dated musty independent living facility. The pumped in sent used to mask unpleasant odors in common areas is obnoxious. Food, mediocre at best. Management is 100% looking out for the best outcomes for the bottom line. The staff cleaning resident rooms leaves much to be desired. Our relative had breathing difficulties, one evening pressed the alert, pendant residents wear around their neck, alert went to Security , the night staff, he called us annoyed and frustrated. He had three other residents needing help. There is no escalation system for such incidents, residents wait their turn. Explained by [name removed] Exec. Dir.. Provided the required 30 day notice when moving, was told by allowing 3 weeks early access to ready apartment for next tenant, a credit would be given if rented, it was, no credit. [name removed] did not return our call to discuss. Try [community removed]. New, clean, bright, fewer residents, lots of activities. Read all reviews

Do not send your loved ones here! Big money grab! Looks very good initially but trust me. Evil place .Again DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! They do not care about your family. The are fake people who are just salespeople! Trying to take your money

My loved one lived at the Renaissance for 8 years, and until the current onsite management staff took over, it was a wonderful and vibrant facility. The current executive director has put a chokehold on finances, limiting needed repairs and scaling back resident activities. In dealing with family and residents, he is insincere and dismissive. Often pretending to listen to suggestions and concerns, but never implementing any meaningful changes. The marketing and sales staff advertise a variety of services that are rarely delivered. The nursing staff is short handed, and response times are exceedingly excessive, often leaving assisted living residents waiting a hour or longer for needed assistance and care. Based on our experience over the last 8 years, we would strongly recommend talking with existing residents to get their opinions and get ALL offered services in writing before making a final decision. Buyer beware!

1. I was told my meds would be there when I arrived. No meds. 2. Once staff came to the rooms, demeanor and caring deteriorated. 3. Abandoned me on toilet. 4. Did not come upon emergency call. 5. Demeaning and disrespectful 6. Caused me great physical pain 7. DID NOT CARE once I was moved to the dark halls of the glittery front welcoming area. 8. Would not give meds as prescribed by MDs

Management is inexperienced, not truthful and highly disrespectful. Our Tampa attorney friends warned us not to go there, we should have listened. Looks pretty but once you there it is full of shady people and we have caught management in so many lies. Stay away!

One for each category. Very disappointed overall. Astoundingly poor assisted living setup. My stepdaughter [name removed] had the business dealings with Seasons but I was local and visited on a more frequent basis. First, the place is a cave. Very few windows in the main lounge area and it was underlit. Second, there wasn't a staff member in sight most of the time unless a nurse was setting up a med pass. Very hard to locate someone if there was a question or problem. Residents stayed mostly in their own rooms so there was very little social interaction going on in the public room. Third, nurses did not observe residents taking their meds when they delivered them. [name removed] would tell them to just leave them and he would take them 'later', which he frequently would not do (lapsing memory and denial working there). I would often find multiple cups of ossified med that had been a solution when put in his room. That should never happen. Then there was the fact that the staff left the door to the lower parking lot propped open so they could go out for smoke breaks without having to be buzzed back in (remember that there were rarely any other staff around to do the buzzing so the wait could be long). Any resident could have walked away at any time. Several were obviously memory-impaired and easily disoriented. [name removed] included. Not good. A couple of the nursing staff were very nice but most displayed a complete lack of training in how to interact with visitors and family members. They do their job but ignore social niceties. Our whole family was very disappointed and appalled at the whole setup. We moved [name removed] out as soon as my stepdaughter could locate a better facility. Seasons is great for independent residents and may have an adequate nursing home facility but falls on its face with assisted living, or at least did when [name removed] was there.

The employees cleaning is poorly paid, employees are exploited or overworked and the salary is very low. They should consider a more decent salary since it is hard work

This review is based on care provided to my Mom between [date removed]. Despite our best efforts to resolve SAFETY concerns (daily medication errors, excessive call button wait times, frequent falls, etc) nothing changed. We spent so much time pleading for improvements with management but our pleas fell on deaf ears and nothing ever changed. Staff work in unsafe ratios (40:1) and have to come to work when sick (covid) or they’ll lose their job. The building is run down and lacks basic amenities that Seniors deserve (i. e. handicap accessible entrances, basic security at night, etc). Due to low staffing, Mom missed meds, meals & showers on a regular basis. Places like AP give Senior Care facilities a bad rap. There are much better places in the area. If you are looking at AP for your loved one I strongly encourage that you check the reviews on the State /[name removed](search by individual buildings), be aware of recent citations, & filter out mandated employee reviews. Buyer beware…

Resident fell 3 times in a month; staff nurse was unpleasant and not helpful; quality of food was poor; administrative staff listened to complaints, but no changes were made; costs too high; facilities were clean.

I had my elderly brother in the memory unit for a 30 day respite stay. The place had a nice room for him, but the care was NOT good. When I brought him home he looked dirty, unshaven and was very sleepy, although he doesn't take meds for sleeping! I would never use this facility again! The staff starts eating the meals when brought in and I never saw them assist the patients with cutting the food, which my brother needed the help. Some of them had nails sooo long,it would seem impossible to give decent care! It's a nice facility, but be aware of the care your loved one recieves inside ??

With the meals and dining - I really don't know. I never ate there. Mom didn't complain or praise much either way. Mom only went to one painting class while she was there, but they watched tv A LOT. Paid for 2 full months when she was not even there because they said they had aging in place, rehab therapy, and hospice available when we interviewed there. A big reason we choose them. Then they would NOT let her come back after they sent her to the hospital. We tried doing everything they said. Finally, they got a new person in the office that basically told me they would never let her come back until she could get out of bed and to the toilet by herself. She was in a rehab on hospice. That was just before the next payment was due. I feel very deceived. I believe that she went downhill while she was in their care for 3 weeks. I would also not recommend anyone with diabetes and in need of help with insulin go there. 2 different times when I went to pick her up for lunch and asked for her insulin syringe to (take with me) they gave me the wrong syringe. I had to correct them. So who knows how often that happened when I wasn't there to catch it.

Do NOT let your loved one live here. This is greedy corporation that says all the right things so you will give them MONEY. They only care about money. It smells bad and the food is really BAD!! UNDERSTAFFED ALWAYS.

A peek behind the curtain! This corporation is for profit only. Educate yourself before going into Spring Hill. Staff goes into rooms anytime, items disappear and nothing is being done as Spring Hill says it will. The poor staff is always turning over due to lack of pay. Residents have to be able to care for themselves on a cognitive and mobile ability or find another facility. Our experiences with this location is. poorly run, understaffed, doctors don’t show up and no one returns calls. You physically have to fight for a parent who is paying astronomical monthly fees. No one does what they say they will!

I am disappointed and concerned about the practices at Addington Place of Stuart. Addington does not allow residents to age in place. This policy is not only disruptive but also detrimental to the well-being of the residents who require stability and continuity in their care. Additionally, the facility’s financial practices are shrouded in secrecy. This predatory approach to billing is unacceptable, especially when dealing with vulnerable individuals and their loved ones who are already under significant emotional and financial stress. The director is not only heartless and insincere but also dishonest. Their facade of compassion quickly dissolves under scrutiny, revealing a person who is more concerned with profit than the welfare of the residents. This disingenuous attitude extends to the staff, who are often treated poorly. I urge potential residents and their families to look elsewhere for a facility that truly values compassion, transparency, and ethical care.

My mother was a resident of Wellington for 7 years in independent living. At the start it was a pretty well run facility with good food and resident support. When the facility changed hands, prices went up and services were eliminated. Many examples: the annual cleaning of the apartment stopped happening; staff turnover has been constant under the new management; the food quality and service is generally poor. When my mother moved to another facility in January, after another rent increase, Wellington did not return her security deposit and nearly 5 months later still hasn't. There has simply been radio silence. If you are considering Wellington for yourself or a loved one, think twice.

I moved my parents to this location in 2022. We were happy to have them close to home but we had to move them out immediately after what they said they saw.The administrator cared more about his dog than the residents every time we wanted to voice our concerns we were told he was taking his dog out.Even his workers were laughing at him.U had no one to talk to if you had a problem only one lady in activity that was older than my mom. We had heard good things about the place but we were very disappointed about the lack of service and care so we moved them back to the property they came from. I’m not sure what happened there.

I would never recommend Addington Place to anyone. We did not have good experiences there and our mother died as a result. She was not cared for as advertised. The charges were never correct. They had very few people working on weekends, which was when our mother would typically fall as a result of no one responding to her calls. The last two weeks of her stay there, she fell twice resulting in a fractured back and then a broken hip. We and Hospice were not informed of her last fall for 24 hours when they finally tired of her screaming in pain. She succumbed to her broken hip and misery 3 weeks later, after a week's stay in the hospital and a move to another facility. There, they could only make her as comfortable as possible. Addington is only interested in filling rooms for payment. Though a few health workers were concerned, their management was not.
