My dad was only at Spring Oaks for a short time before having to go into the hospital. The staff there are friendly and kept the family updated on his care. He did have a few falls and they let us know right away. The only complaint I have is that they did not check his clothing before sending them to the laundry and he lost a set of hearing aides. The community itself is clean and the food is good. He was happy for the short time he was there.

This is a decent community and everything is going okay for my mother since her move here. I have had a problem with the fact my mother isn't getting bath daily. When I bring up my concerns the staff tends to point the finger at each other. The staff is nice and friendly for the most part. They do a good job keeping the community nice and clean. There is great activities. I would recommend it, just make sure you stay on top of the staff.

We toured this community while looking into senior living options for a loved one. I thought Barrington of West Chester seemed like a very nice place, but it wouldn't be a good fit for Mom. It has a very fancy, country club vibe to it, and I know Mom would be comfortable somewhere a little more down-to-earth. They're definitely worth a look if that is the sort of atmosphere you enjoy, though!

I think Spring Hills is a nice place, overall. The facility is clean and well kept, and the staff is friendly. Mom's room is wonderful! It's very spacious, has a lot of natural light, and plenty of closet space! Really the only issue I've noticed is that residents whose rooms are located farther from the dining room can end up waiting quite a while before someone arrives to help them get to the dining room.

We just moved my parents here so all I can review is the initial experience. Kristi at Evergreen was amazing to work with. The facilities are very nice. We moved in on a Sunday and it was hard to identify employees to ask questions. The apartment is VERY nice with a lot of natural light. Freshly painted with new carpet. I think my parents are going to like it here once they get settled in.

So far it's a wonderful place for mom to call home. The apartments are very nice and clean, there are countless interesting and fun activities, the staff and director are incredibly warm and friendly (lots of high school and college kids serving meals in the dining room which helps bring a youthful element to the Barrington), and the common areas are very nice and clean. Our only disappointment is that we don't get access to records of the care that's given, that we pay extra for, how often she eats and what activities she's in. They should reach out to those who are new and have some memory issues to remind them to eat and take part in the great activities.

The Renaissance on Peachtree is a great community! My mother-in-law loved everything but the food. The food and the service was not that good, we ate there as well and it was terrible. Shondra, the head nurse of assisted living makes the place fabulous!

My mother was at The Woodmark at Uptown two years ago. They changed ownership two or three times within a six month period, so rules were always changing. She was assessed for assisted living, then one day later because she tried to leave, they moved her to their middle unit, then they wanted to move her to nursing care. In the lockdown floor, family members who would go visit her would then have to wait for 20 minutes trying to find a staff member to open the door so the visiting person could get out and leave. I would say this community is a reasonable option. The food was average. They did have activities for her to do.

Very nice. The staff was friendly and great tour. We had lunch there and the food was ok....not great. Staff was everywhere which was nice. My father in law is thinking about it. Is nice because he knows a few residents there.

The leadership team and staff work well together in the interest of residents.

My mother had moved there but we have since moved her back home due to the cost. The community did have entertainment and activities, but they only posted them and didn't go around reminding resdients so if they missed it, they missed it. There was set meal times. So if she slept in in the morning, she would miss breakfast. She did like the food but complained the portion was small. They then started giving her a bigger portion.

I toured five different retirement communities before deciding on Brookdale for my mom. It has a lot of activities throughout the day, several social outings a week and van service daily to a variety of local stores. Her one bedroom apartment is more than enough space for her. Residents are friendly and there is always someone to talk with in the common areas. The staff are friendly and seem to genuinely care for the residents. Generally speaking my mom is quite content. Negatives from my perspective include housekeeping does a sub par job in her apartment; the food is mediocre at best; the building's heating/cooling system needs to be updated. Apartment's tend to run very warm.

The food at Brookdale is HORRIBLE. When it was Devonshire, the food was good, but it has gone from bad to worse to horrible. My parents have been there for over a year and about 6 mos ago I stopped joining them for meals as it was not a pleasant experience, I recently went to lunch with them. My dad ordered the cottage cheese/fruit plate - he got served a handful of potato chips and a few slices of melons. The server did not appear to think anything wrong with the dish. My mom ordered the cod. The only side dishes available were buttered corn and a broccoli raisin salad that was inedible. Mashed potatoes had been taken off the menu and with an hour left in lunch service, they were out of french fries. I had the BLT. The toast was soggy and limp as if they had toasted it and spread the mayo hours before they served it. For the $8+ they charge for a visitor lunch, you would at least expect fresh toast. Mgmt has been aware of the issues - quality of food, menu choices, and untrained servers for a good 6 months. I have seen no improvements, other than they have added hot dogs and sloppy joe's to the DINNER menu. The rest of the services seem fine, staff very friendly, lots of activities and good resident care. Unfortunately for seniors, meals are one of their daily high points, and there are only low points at Brookdale.

Things are going pretty well at Lincolnwood Place. The staff is friendly, patient and attentive to the residents. The facility itself is nice, well decorated and clean. So far, it has been a good experience here.

Nice size rooms. Didn’t like that you walked directly into the common areas. Liked the enclosed courtyard.

We are very happy with them so far. We don't have any complaints at this point. It's clean and the staff has been friendly.

I had to place a loved one in a safe home for her own well-being. She could no longer really take care of her everyday needs, the simplest things became a real challenge to get done. She needed help and it was hard to watch her diminish each day and see her frustration when things went wrong. To see a person change right there in front of you was heart breaking and I couldn't let it go on like that anymore. I got in touch with A place for Mom. After talking to them I contacted the Dr.and explained to him what I was seeing and he checked her over and agreed with me that she needed help. We got the name's of local facilities and started looking at what they had to meet the needs of Mom. After some discussion we decided to use McCullough House. The move in process was well orchestrated and the staff was right there to help with everything. When I moved Mom's personal from her house to McCullough House, they unloaded the van and straight to work setting up her room. I could not have asked for a better team of people who treated me so kind, "What a great team of caring individual's" I was so pleased with the way the people pulled together and I offer a heart felt gratitude to each and everyone of these kind, caring loving people. The place is beautiful and well kept. Mom was very calm and did what she was asked to do, it went so well. I had to leave shortly after she was settled in as best as could be expected considering being aflected with Alzheimer's disease, but all said and done she was nice to everyone. We sat on a couch and talk about her being there and not in her house and she would ask me about when she was going to her her house. I explained to her that she had to wait and see what her Dr.had planned she said she had see him. I soon had to go. She hugged me and was taken to the dinning room for dinner. This is a beautiful home. I haven't had a lot of time there yet, but my first impression is a good one. If you have someone you love that needs a caring, loving place, I can say at this time I'm quite taken by the overall idea of McCullough House. Best regards to you all.

My wife and I have lived here for over a year and found that there are many perks that we did not realize were here. For instance,when the weather is bad,the expansive work out center has wonderful work out sessions and many machines. I use the treadmill three times a week. We have also enjoyed the stretch classes and the sun deck is great for outdoor walking when weather won't permit a walk to the nearby beach which is a 6 minute walk away. My wife and I facilitate a Veteran's group to help them with benefits they are not aware of and to provide support and contacts. After we lived here for two weeks, I asked my wife what she likes the best about The Breakers and she said "the people".

Clearly, the focus here is attention to everyone personally and with genuine intentions to help. The facility is wonderful and serene. Very peaceful.

Overall our experience with Lowrie Place was a good one. It's a clean, nice looking facility, and the staff is friendly and professional. It took a bit of effort to get our loved one settled at the right level of care, but they took good care of her overall. I do think they could use a few more aides on staff, however.
