I liked this very much. The employees were very nice and it looked like they got good care.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Very nicely decorated newer facility and the staff was friendly. Mom would have to share a room and I didn't really like the floor plan of the room. Mom will need a lot of attention and this setup was not really condusive to that. Mom would be behind two doors, a locked front door and a bedroom door.

Sounds like a services fit

Mom has been at The Stratford for a year now. They have done a great job of dealing with her "special" issues as a smoker. We toured several facilities and still feel this is one of the best available for the price. Mom feels she is in a fancy hotel/apt building - the decor and ambiance are very nice verging on elegant in mom's opinion. Our family members travel a lot and never worry about her well-being or care. They have a well rounded list of activities. Communication is very important.

I toured The Stratford for my mother, and I thought they had a really great program, but I thought that my mother would be unhappy with the rooms. They seemed a little small to me, and I knew she wanted a room on the first floor. They unfortunately did not have any opening s for rooms on the first floor, so we continued our search.

I like the nurses and nursing staff. They are all very caring and polite. I don't like the afternoons and evenings. The staff are very busy doing meds and getting patients changed and in bed. They have all the patients sit and wait in the dining area for quite a long time. They get tired and that is when the ones with dementia/Alzheimers start with "Sundowners". One time I was there in the dining room with my loved one and Staff was busy and one lady tried to walk across the room and she fell, but thankfully she was close to the couch and cought it. But she couldn't get up. I tried to help her, but couldn't. Then a staff member came in and got her onto the couch. My mom sits in the chairs for long periods of time and her ankles swell where she can't even get her shoes on. I got her some supportive stallings. The mornings are nice. They have breakfast and do some activities. But, they need more activities after lunch.

The biggest thing I wish I knew before hand is if you work for a living they make it hard to visit after 5 PM. At that time they lick the place up and you have to call a number to have someone come open the door which could take some time for them to do that. They told me when we were took the tour that they were in the process of setting it up for either a card or a pin but there has been no progress of either of those.

Overall rating is based on cleanliness mainly. Mom is 94 and slow moving. Kind of a loner. $[fee removed] a month rental was way better and they have a hair salon in the building What I have seen for food is a 5. They also take elderly waivers if you spent a minimum of $[fee removed] of our own money. It's pretty quiet there. Many have severe Alzheimer's and dementia.

My wife was a resident for over three years and passed away in March 2025. I always paid her fees well before the due date and my problem is not with the facility itself but with Ridgeline Corporate. They owe me over $[removed]for the month of March for days after my wife passed away. You can’t talk to a person and they refuse to answer messages or emails. Do not place your loved one with any facility owned by Ridgeline Management.

Understaffed. If your relative can get around on their own it could be OK. They could use a staff member to check in on residents to make sure housekeeping is being done and check in on the resident's general well-being. Better food. e. Visiting hours were too short. It is hard to make it there by the time they locked their doors.

The location is wonderful. Close to shopping, restaurants, post office, banks and more. The villas are wonderful. Quiet, large, big bathrooms, garages, nice kitchen and laundry. Check out landscaping. (Dead shrubs, overgrown trees, plugged gutters. Irrigation not working). There are 12 villas. Four are unoccupied. Any apartments are unoccupied. The main building underwent a complete remodel in 2024. Looks like a 5 star hotel. It is not.

There was a couple aids that were very caring but most were indifferent. Spent lots of time on there phones and not connecting with residents. The ladies that did the activities were amazing.

The Ridge Of New Bern memory . There were many inconsistencies in care in accordance to Staff. There was one particular staff member that provided excellent care and make sure that all the patients received the same care. If she was not on things did not get done. All patients were clean and will fed. Activities for patients were not mandatory. If a patient was pacing up and down or sitting in his room, sleeping in his room, they were not brought to the activity. Administratively there was a disconnect from what was said by the administration and what actually happened With the patient.

The facility is beautiful and very well-maintained. The initial experience was excellent, but the company was sold shortly after our loved one moved into the space. The new company has been difficult to get a hold of decision makers and many of the people who were there when I originally signed, have quit. The new leadership is not as collaborative as the original leadership, which has created challenges for me. The cleanliness in general is good and the friendliness of the staff is great. I have not met anyone as of yet who is not friendly, but no one has been able to get answers to the questions I have from the senior management in real time.

This place was so pleasing to the eye and ear when searching for a home for my loved one. I however am disappointed with the decline I see in the building appearance, the activities not offered anymore, the open conflict that exists between the staff and the aids, and I am very disgusted with the therapy dog that is allowed to run thru the facility and ignore the residents but poop and pee all over the facility. I believe these are problems that can easily be fixed if only management would step up and handle the complaints presented by family members. Putting a loved one in a facility is hard enough even when you are pleased with the presentation but when you see everything taking a turn for the worse you have to ask yourself is this where I really want to keep my loved one.

My family and loved one had a good experience with Croatan Village. The community is clean. The staff and residents and friendly and caring. They have activities available to engage the residents. Overall, we would recommend you check the community out, to see if this would be a good fit for your loved one.

We were really happy with them at first. But they have had some staffing changes and the new people are not very good. When our loved one arrived the meals were good, but now our loved one won't eat them. With the care services our loved one has had a toe injury for a while now and has yet to see a Podiatrist.

The cost has already gone up and I do not see her getting any extra care. Compared to other memory care facilities it is a good place, but as a whole there are big issues with many facility. Sometimes things that are promised are not always followed through with. You just need to advocate for your loved one.

The people who led the tour were friendly, but this just wasn't the community for us. They have a care menu of every little thing that just added up to more and more money, to the point that it was ridiculous. And the facility didn't seem nearly as nice as the other places we looked at. There was just nobody around, and the building was a little bit older. It had kind of a haunted house feel.

This community seemed dark as there was not a lot of sunlight coming into the community. The community seemed clean. I did not see a lot of activities when I visited. You could hear the sound of the traffic outside of one of the rooms we saw. I did not think this would work for us.
