My husband and my experience with The Wellington at Lake Manassas, is that it is the best assisted living community in Northern Virginia! The staff is excellent and caring, going the extra mile to meet our needs, and way beyond what is expected. They treat us like family, which brings us true joy. They really help us feel welcome and strive to meet our every need. We feel truly blessed to have found such a gem, where we can live out, our golden years.

Amazing facility with the friendliest and top notch staff I've found. After touring many other facilities, this one stood out for all the right reasons. Its bright, welcoming, and, best of all, full of life and laughter. It's the only facility I toured that I heard laughter. The team at Hidenwood has been extremely helpful while moving my grandmother in and getting her adjusted. They were able to do so safely and timely. Every step of the way they were with us to answer any questions and provide us with the information needed to make the best decisions for my grandmother. They have been ahead of the pack on safety practices to keep residents safe during this stressful time. I truly appreciate everyone there and all they have done.

The community is recently renovated so they keep it up to date. They also let the residents weigh in about how they want the furniture and how the common areas should be arranged. The staff does a good job learning the names of all the residents. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they did a good job with protecting the residents.

I give my highest personal recommendation to the Hidenwood. The Hidenwood is a fantastic senior living facility with considerate, professional team members who care about residents. My mother lived at the Hidenwood for more than seven months, and I am incredibly pleased with everything about her stay. The move-in was smooth and the team worked closely with Mom to get her acclimated to her new home and all activities. I can't say enough about how great the staff team treated Mom and all residents. In particular, the Director of Marketing and Community Relations is always available to answer questions and help families with any matter. She loves her job and the residents. The long-time receptionist is extremely friendly and professional. The activity directors have fun. Everyone is patient with residents who might be confused or need help. The billing is accurate and prompt. The love and care which everyone shows is genuine and reflects very well on the management, which has created a professional, caring culture at the Hidenwood. The dining room - with white tablecloths and menu services - is outstanding. The food is excellent. Their egg benedicts special is one of the best I've ever had, for example. They offer fresh ingredients, extremely friendly, and prompt table service. They quickly get to know everyone's preferences and proactively work to accommodate requests. The activities are fun and engaging. Mom particularly enjoyed bingo, exercise classes, and coffee hour. The team which runs the programs are a hoot and get everyone participating. Mom didn't need much nursing assistance, but when it was required, it was extremely prompt, caring, professional, and appropriate. The entire facility is extremely well managed, is safe, and they are protecting everyone during COVID. All the spaces are clean, perfectly maintained, and the team takes pride in the building. The team is all following COVID protocols. During this very challenging COVID-19 time, they managed to keep all the residents safe, calm, and connected with families - in spite of not allowing any visitors. For example, they arranged zoom calls for us. We choose the Hidenwood for Mom, after visiting several other facilities on the Peninsula. It was the right decision. We love the Hidenwood, and when we needed to move Mom to Northern Virginia, we transferred Mom to a sister RUI assisted living community. Because it's clear that this professional, loving community is helping make a positive impact with their residents.

The staff came in and cleaned my mother's room ever day. In comparison to where she was previously, which was a much larger community, Aarondale had been much better with getting my mother engaged and were able to pay much closer attention to her because of their smaller size. As a result, the care was excellent. They had the nurse practitioner regularly checking on her and were able to be very attentive with her care. Towards the end of her stay, the care giving staff showed a lot of compassion and took great care with her and us as the family. Although expensive, we definitely felt we got our money's worth! When I was first coming to see my mother at Aarondale, several other families told me I would love it here and that the care was amazing. They were not wrong!

I have toured this facility and attended events they hosted. Beautiful building with a friendly staff. Food is excellent as well. This is definitely a place I would refer my friends and family to.

My loved one absolutely loves living at Heatherwood. Why wouldn't you? They offer so much and it is such a great place.

The life enrichment team does a great job with events and social activities! This allows residents to socialize and stay active.

My Mom has been a resident of The Hidenwood for over 18 years and her experience there has always been a positive one. The staff are extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. Most recently, the staff has gone above and beyond to ensure that my Mom is well taken care of. They have provided extra check-ins, bringing her extra supplies and video Zoom calls, so that she can stay connected with our family. I cannot recommend The Hidenwood enough!

The neighbors of The Hidenwood in Newport News greatly appreciate all that you do. I've heard nothing but positive things about The Hidenwood and I'm actively saving to be able to move in one day.

When we were looking for a new permanent home for my Mom, we reviewed many facilities. Once my Mother visited Baylake she immediately said “this is where I want to be!” Many factors contributed to her excitement, but mostly the friendliness and professionalism of the staff won her over. She also loved the decor and the many activities that are offered at Baylake. We also enjoyed a couple of delicious meals at Baylake before making our final decision. My Mom has now been at Baylake for seven months and she is absolutely convinced that she made the right decision. She continuously tells me how friendly and courteous the staff continues to be. Everyone there truly takes terrific care of my Mother. She loves them all. Having a doctor on site is also very comforting and reassuring to our whole family. My Mom and the rest of us are also very impressed with the “special” events/functions that Baylake creates for the residents such as the Thanksgiving meal, the special holiday get together and the Mothers Day parade. Our entire family wholeheartedly agrees that we made the absolute best choice for our Mother and she is the number one cheerleader!

I toured several months ago. Very nice community. When mom is ready, looks like it could be a great option.
