This is a beautiful place to live and has great amenities but the food has hardly been edible the last few months. It used to be such fabulous dinners and food but I am astounded at how poor the quality the dinner is most nights. Uncooked rice and pasta, no flavor to meats and sauces. The only thing that is good is the soups.

Vista Park is a better value than local competition. Staff is helpful and friendly. But what is promised isn't quite what you get. Culinary quality varies widely, depending on who is cooking the meal. They use imitation ingredients and packaged food ready to eat along with fresh ingredients. Lighting around the facility exterior is fair. External security is almost non existent from the company. Housekeepers not allowed to move area rugs or any personal item on a counter to clean. Will not strip beds but can make it if you ask.

Been here more than 6 months and the food quality and service has continued downward. For food/service I would give it a 2 out of 10. Also equipment breakdowns like elevators, treadmill, coffee maker, ice cream machine etc takes forever to repair. MONTHS.

The staff is remarkable. Very helpful and extremely friendly. Activity director is awesome with Tons of activities for everyone. If you don’t like the food at lunch or dinner they will make you a wonderful pizza or hamburger. There is always a great salad bar. The whole facility needs a carpet and color upgrade. Linoleum in some apartments is very old. Apartment appliances are old and not efficient. Air filters and dryer hoses are not checked unless requested.

The staff is pleasant. My answers were favorable. That is what families should know.

[name removed] does all the work around the place. [name removed] is a stickler for the rules, but is ineffective and tends to be a bully. Both. Both are as fake as a 3 dollar bill. The other staff were expected to be superficially friendly at all times, but were fired if they actually made friends with a resident. There was never enough staff and the staff they had was required to do overtime. .

Concerns are not addressed and or met with lies. I do not feel safe. Food is inadequate and poor. I order food from outside. Housekeeping is minimal. I will be looking for a new place soon.

The new management spoke down to the residents. They were condescending and treated them like children in their "town home" writings. Very disrespectful. Id o not recommend Red Hills Village Retirement Resort to others.

Facility 7 yrs old and beginning to show wear. Management said to be on site, but not on find or weekends. Food is usually good but sometimes (40% time) uses cutely title and overpowering spices and condiments lusted of naturally good taste. Facility is more like an assisted living one now but isn't desired on managed for that use. Elevators (2) not sufficed for number/type residents.

The staff is very friendly, caring, and accommodating. The activities director, [name removed], is exceptional. It is well maintained and very clean. The apartments are a nice size and the largest in the area. My mother is pretty active and has met many new friends. The size of the Shell Harbor is perfect. Not too large and not too small. Now for the reason I am torn, the food. This is a big concern. Very disappointed in the menu selection and variety as well as many complaints about toughness of the meats. This has been brought up several times by the residents in the resident/staff meetings. Most disappointingly is that the residents need to wait in line and go thru a cafeteria line to be served. They are not waited on as they are in most retirement communities and all the seven other properties in the area. I realize there are staffing issues; however, retirees in this stage of their lives deserve to be waited on and not carry a tray as they did when they were in grade school. This is a situation Shell Harbor can remedy and they should.

For me, one problem that has emerged is the carelessness of residents using motorized scooters in the building. There are many residents with wheelchairs, rollator and canes. There have multiple occasions that I have been placed in danger of these vehicles. The management has not addressed the issue to date as more residents with the scooters continue to move in. Also, although there are signs clearly identifying a smoke free building, residents continue to smoke which has had a negative impact on my health.

They seem to have a high staff turnover, especially in the kitchen. But everyone is very friendly and there are lots of activities. I think the biggest remark would be that the staff who work there are lovely and the food can sometimes be inconsistent due to high turnover which is a common occurred in this industry. Everyone is trying their best.

Unfortunately, since new management has taken over Red Hills is a big disappointment. Things are not repaired in a timely manner. Management distributes "snarky" town hall fliers which speak down to the residents often scolding them like children. I am not satisfied.

They could have had better organization and communication. They initially where conducting some pretty heavy repairs, a few safety issues that were addressed once brought to their attention. Based on the experience we have had so far, I would recommend this community to other families. They have new managers who had just started when we came on board so I think they have done well through the transition as changes always hard. Overall a nice community with friendly staff, wonderful / active lifestyle with opportunities to be as active as one would like. Staff is caring and attentive - quickly becoming extended family to the residents

It is a poor example of a building maintenance/safety.

Not what we were looking for. All meals were included why we initially went there. Didn't work out

I got yelled at for walking my service dog down to check my mail by management. My service dog helps keep me stable. I have food allergies but still had to pay for food I couldn't eat. Most of the staff are friendly. For people with no food allergies, no service dogs, and who enjoy the activities, I would recommend this place.

I was previously a resident at Ashwood Square and the facility was pretty good. The entry way and hallways were clean and attractive. They had a small snack shop that opened for a few hours during the week. They also provided 3 meals a day. I did enjoy having breakfast, but was not fond of the buffet system.

i moved in 15 days after they opened, and have been disappointed by the amount of "start up " issues they had & have. They have the potential to be a 5 star facility but are not there yet ! They " supposedly " have the experience ( because of their 70+ other facilities ) .

The cleaning person was using the same water, unit to unit, without changing it. I had to clean up a spill from my moms floor and the cloth was black! I think she has been relieved of her duties or found another job.
