LOVE IT! Very clean, nice facility, all daily activities availabe in house. Friendly staff and residents.

We really liked this place. It was somewhere that we could picture ourselves living someday. It had a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The apartments were beautiful.

Absolutely loved it!!

This facility is almost a year old and beautiful. I loved everything about it, from the 1st floor cruise-like feel with shops on each side including a bank, salon, fitness center, etc to the dining room with buffet or sit-down dining. The rooms were very nice although they put too much of the space in the kitchens which encroached on the living area. The bathrooms were great with a large seat and detachable spray showerhead. Closet space was good and there is space for your own washer & dryer. In our case, my aunt sold her W&D, but there is a great laundry room on 2nd & 3rd floors. The movie theatre was to die for. I would hesitate to move in there myself and it did look like a younger group of individuals were there as well as much older. What can I say, it was awesome, but the price wasn't. The smallest 1 bedroom was approx $2900 while a little big larger 1 bedroom was around $3200. They require the equivalent of 1 month's rent down along with your 1st month although he did say they would work with you on that. That's a hefty amount. There is shopping across the street and Grimes seems to be a slow traffic road during thet day. Really a beautiful facility. Just wish the price was a little cheaper.

We have experienced a lot of friendliness from the staff. They're very good about cleanliness. There are plenty of activities. Overall things have been good. They've had some problems keeping kitchen and dining staff, so the food service has been inconsistent. I think the food is good overall though, and they offer lots of options if you don't like what they're serving. They've also gone through multiple changes in managers in different departments within a year or so, which has been challenging for my loved one to navigate. But living there is like living on a cruise ship, and he is very happy there. The apartments are beautiful - probably the most beautiful we've seen - brand new, and very livable. I wouldn't mind living there myself!

It's been a very positive experience. The food here is great, but the menu needs to be tweaked. For example: they had a Spanish meal the other day that had broccoli, but you typically don't see broccoli with traditional Spanish meals. They have an older clientele and they need to be concerned about their health, salt intake, and how they're eating overall. Emerald oaks shouldn't be responsible for that, but the resident themselves should take more of an initiative. Some of their activities include different card games like hearts & bridge, as well as bingo. My apartment is one of the smaller apartments, but we do have a front room, a kitchen, and a bedroom. If and when we have visitors, they have common areas where we can sit and talk, like the library. They have couches and chairs that are out of the way from everyone else. The community allows pets; they also offer transportation to appointments and their weekly store runs with a 24hr notice, as the bus only holds 14. I would certainly recommend Emerald Oaks to others, it's one of the best.

I toured with Towne Center and it is a much newer facility with a younger crowd. It is a large building and everyone I spoke to was very friendly. It is cruise ship style, almost feels like you are on vacation. I was looking for something more homey so it did not suit what I was looking for.

It a beautiful community, and there are a lot of activities to do. The staff is very friendly and caring, and the community is very neat and clean. I would recommend this community to others if you need independent living.

My room is the best part of the community. The rooms are very large and the kitchen is furnished. The food is mediocre. The staff are very friendly, and accommodating.

It is a pretty expensive community, but you are getting what you are paying for.

The food is pretty good and they offer a variety. The apts. have a full kitchen. I would like to see more outdoor activities, the apts are well done with granite countertops and good appliances. I would recommend this community to others. The community has garages here also.

I am from Omaha, so I had visited friends in other retirement communities in Omaha long before I looked into one for me. I had been invited to M. R. Off and on to a few social activities so I knew what was offered. When time came for me to get serious, I compared M.R. with others. Location, pleasant in looks, bright, cheerful here at M.R. Thought more into XYZ, what will I be missing at M.R.? So here I am, happy, content, so glad I did find friends oh, lots to do. Thanks, Maple Ridge!

My Mom moved in just as the Covid-19 lock down began, which prohibited family visits for a while. In a facility new to her and with social distancing, it was hard to make friends at first. The staff stepped up, made her comfortable, supplied meals to each residents room and assisted with the technical details of her move. Now she has several friends and is pleased that she made her move. She had lived in two other residences previously. Both she and I will tell you Oak Park is head and shoulders better. Specifically, the food and staff are wonderful. [name removed] , the manager, is a conscientious, thoughtful and caring man. With his leadership, Oak Park is number one in my book.

From the first visit to the when the last box was unloaded, Mom knew this was the right place for her. Her first statement was "it doesn't feel like a nursing home." The residents were warm and friendly and maybe most importantly inviting. They asked Mom to join them for lunch and cards and were engaging. Mom loves the fountains at the open atmosphere. For us, in addition to the socialization and meals, we liked the idea that if in the future she needs more services [ex. bathing, dressing etc.] she could have those services provided [at a charge] without having to go to a full assisted living program. Mom had one day were she was not feeling well and they brought her dinner to the apartment with no complaints. She has not partaken of the activities as of yet but there are things she is interested in. She also enjoys the valet parking.

I am searching for Senior Communities in which to move. My daughter and I visited Emerald Oaks. [name removed] gave us a tour and treated us to lunch there. A number of residents introduced themselves and said how much they like it there. [name removed] and the staff were very nice and knowledgeable. The facility was spotless and very well kept. The offer all of the amenities one could hope for. [name removed] has stayed in touch since our visit and offered her help in various ways. I am not quite ready to move just yet but will before long. Emerald Oaks is high on my list.

My husband and I left our home in the East to come to Omaha to be near our daughter, and we chose Maple Ridge because it seemed the best choice. We have not been disappointed. The surroundings, although right off of the highways, is down a bit of a hill and has lots of grass and feels away from everything.The apartment is spacious and has walk-in closets and lots of storage space. It is airy and light, and we were able to keep our small dog and cat. The common rooms are beautifully appointed and the staff bend over backward to be helpful. [Name removed] and [name removed], the managers, are highly visible, always helping out in the dining room or wherever needed. There is beautiful artwork throughout the residence The food is very good, lots of choices, and can be brought to one's room if ordered during meal time. The only thing that was problematic was that somehow we were under the impression that, although we knew health aides had to be contracted for, they would be more readily available.

Good place to be

My mom moved from her single home of 50 years to her apt 3 months ago. It took time for her to settle in. She is keeping much more engaged with all the activities. She is eating much better than she was when living alone. Housekeeping being provided is huge for her. Her being able to keep her dogs was a major consideration. All the onsite amenities have made her life easier. A great place that has improved my mom's life. I highly recommend Walnut Grove Retirement Community.

I really liked the place and met and liked lots of friends. But I felt after 6 months it was too expensive and I moved into a standard apartment to cut cost. I still visit every sat to play bridge with the group.
