Care staff and facility not able to fully support our father's more advanced Alzheimer's levels of behavior, especially in the area of personalized interaction and activities. Wander Guard system did not work past the entrance to the garden allowing our father to leave the facility twice undetected via an unlocked gate. Care staff friendly and supportive, but unable to provide enough monitoring, even with the addition of "frequent checks" and escort services. Assessing exactly what is required for a resident with Alzheimer's can be difficult and touring, then choosing a facility is time consuming, but necessary in order to provide the best fit for the individual.

My mom did complain about the food being cold. The community is not very open and airy. The room is a little smaller than the community she is currently at. They did take good care of her and the community is kept clean. We did move her closer to me.

It is very hard to know what is happening to my mother in this community if i don't call. The staff has very poor communication with me i got to speak with one person they were very rude.The price that we are paying is not very good for the services we are receiving. There is some remodeling going on but the community is still being kept clean. My mother likes the food.

For assisted living, Arbor House of Rockwall, would be a great place, but for the memory care I was not impressed. Brenda [removed] was personable and sincere. (Yes, most sale people are, but she really cares about people) I enjoyed talking to her. But the facts are, their memory care unit needs to be more structured and additional time given to attending to the well-being of the persons under their care.

The staff and nurses are very friendly, the therapists and doctors seem very competent, but they are very understaffed. My mother-in-law constantly complains about it taking forever for someone to attend to her needs.

Willow creek is an amazing place. What makes it so good is the staff. It is Resident centered, friendly, warm and feels like home. The Residents all seem very happy. The staff knows everyone by first name, they always have a smile and are respectful and considerate. They all seem to like their jobs. The Facility however needs a lot of work. The Owners are lucky they have such good staff as the staff manages to keep the facility together without any apparent support from ownership. There have been some recent major repairs done to the plumbing and Hot Water system which were badly needed. The facility needs upkeep and maintenance which the Owners need to pay more attention to. We picked this place for the excellent personalized care that our Elder family member needed and figured the facility was less important. Great place for an Elderly person who needs personalized care, and attention. For a more Independent Senior who is more aware of the maintenance issues and the fact that the Building needs updating this may not be your first choice. The pricing is very fair for the service. Some of the other fancier updated facilities were definitely priced much higher. Overall a good value for the money and excellent personalized care.

I guess that my loved one went to the Emergency Room and a taxi brought her back and she had to fill out paperwork that needed to get to the doctor, and it took a long time to get that sorted out for her.

Sterling House did a decent job in terms of the care they provided, my loved one was always well looked after here, but there were a lot of little things they could have done better. As an example, many of the times when I would visit his room would be dirty, and it wouldn't get cleaned until I went and asked them to do so. I also did not like that they seemed content to just push him everywhere he needed to go in a wheelchair, although he was capable of walking. It wasn't a bad place by any means, but they could certainly have done better.

They are okay. They do feed them dinner kind of early, they start at four and it's over at six. There haven't been any complaints about the quality of the food, but when they have a lot of people with special diets then they will cater more to those needs. Some staff is better than others, and it can take a little bit of time to respond to a call button, sometimes 15-20 minutes. There is no issue with the cleanliness at all, they are excellent in that department. The activities are fine. I think for the money they could do a little better, but it's working out okay so far.

Our experience here has been a bit hit or miss. In general things have gone well, but there are a few issues I'd really like to see them work on. The biggest issue we've had is that the food they serve just seems to be too "fancy", and my loved one would prefer some more traditional options. I've also heard the employees complain about how understaffed and overworked they are. I can see this being the case, as the response times when you ask for assistance can be very long.

This was an older place. Well furnished but seemed a little shabby.and as well managed as others

Bethany was a good listener, answered our questions & gave us a through tour. Liked the dinning setup, the hair salon, movie room & outside seating area. Concerned with the # of ppl.

It was fair, I guess. I think that the nutrition, and meal plans were a little odd for the age group. There were a lot of meals that people wouldn't eat. The showering facility was not set up for independence. The seats are kind of high and in a corner and there isn't really a rail, they seemed designed to require assistance. The medication management wasn't always done at the same time everyday. They hired a RN so they can say they have one, but she really wasn't functioning as an RN, she was so busy with marketing that she didn't have time to function as the RN. They have some kinks that need to be worked out, they are new. They did a very good job of marketing to me, they were very responsive to me, when I was looking, and they went out of their way to get us in. I was a little disappointed, to be honest. The rooms are really set up for dependency, not independence.

We liked this one too, but the apartment again was too small, specifically the living room.

I toured this community when I was looking into care options for my loved one. I thought this place looked very nice, the facility itself was beautiful, and the staff I spoke with seemed friendly and helpful. This really was an option I was considering, although I decided against it based on advice from friends. They said that the care here is adequate but that it is very much a "business" and their loved one never felt at home.

This is the location we selected for my loved one after her care needs increased, and overall they do a good job taking care of her. The staff are friendly and professional, and do a good job with the care and activities provided to the residents. I feel like they could do a bit better when it comes to the general cleanliness of the facility.

The care is good for the people who are there. The trouble is that they are very shorthanded because they don't' want to pay their people enough so they leave. When we first moved in we got an excellent caretaker and he received very good care from her but she had to leave because after 5 years they still refused to up her pay fro $10 an hour which is completely unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. To think they're going to be able to keep quality people while paying them like that is ridiculous. They are no where near the caregiver to patient ratio that they would like you think they are. Each caregiver gives good care but there are just not enough around. Apparently the management cares more about making a profit than caring for the people. The actual caregivers I would give a 5 but the management gets a 1. There are activities if the people are mobile enough to get to them but if they're not they just let the patients sit where they are. We chose it because it was the closest and most convenient for us but had I known then what I know now, I never would have put him there.

Older facility. Assisted living and memory care. Slightly less expensive than other facilities, presumably because the buildings are dated and in need of some repair.
