Pinnacle Senior Living

My loved one has friendly people around her, both staff & residents. It's great (for the dementia patients) that they intermix the dementia residents with the independent living people. All of the activities are great varied and fun.They do not have too much experience with insulin-dependent diabetics. You have to manage that and keep on them. The staff is nice and most of the time they will take care of whatever we ask, but occasionally we have to do follow up, hold them accountable. Have to get them to take some responsibility.

We toured Desert View Senior Living and it was good. The facility had a delightful, active atmosphere. However, we prefer smaller more intimate spaces for Memory Care residents.

It's a lovely community. The food is not good and there aren't any healthy options. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

They are understaffed, and need more help. The nurses are top notch. One of the cooks is okay, the other cook needs serious help. The food needs to be improved, and they need more nutritional options for the residents. They make my loved one feel special, and they are friendly. They just hired a new person for the activities, who is always planning things.

What they could improve on is communication and ensuring all disclosures are spoken while touring .

They are friendly. We picked this community, because during the walk through everything looked good. Also, I liked the set-up of the community, of the individual houses. They need to hire more staff. There is lack of properly trained staff, that provides care for the residents.

All the staff has changed. The few of the old staff that stayed are great. The staffing has been reduced to the point that care is suffering. I am looking to move my mom. It will be a long time before this becomes a resident centered facility again.

They had a toliet that kept getting clogged in my loved ones room. They have really good staff but they are overworked, and short staffed. My loved one did not care for the food. They did not have an activities director.

My loved one really loved the food. They had a dining room, that was really nice. They need to improve on, providing better care services for the residents. There was a few incidents, in which my loved ones room was not clean, and they were not as attentive. The medical director seems nice but needs to get more invloved, with what is going on with the care of the residents. In addition, they can improve on the communication.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought the experience was okay but it was just not the place for our loved one. We did like that they were honest about being short staffed but it was definitely not what we were liking. For someone who would be a little bit more sane and less behavioral it might be better.

Our experience was not great, I personally think the med department needs more assistance. They took all of our loved ones meds that we( my sister and I paid for) and we never got compensated for that, plus after our loved ones passing they charged us additional money.

Mountain Terrace is clean and friendly. But we had a problem with the care. They were supposed to check on my loved one every 2-3 hours. She had fallen, and it was over 12 hours before they came to check on her and noticed that she had fallen. Which was very disappointing, especially for what we were paying.

The staff that stayed in contact with our family on the administrative side of things was great. When our family would come and visit sometimes our loved ones room was not always kept up like it should of been. This is secondhand feedback - but when our loved one was on the assisted living side he was able to eat in their cafeteria area and order food, but when we moved to the memory care side they could only eat in on area. On the assisted living side the families were able to come and go as they pleased, but for the memory care side families were not able to visit unless they had an appointment. For us being out town that just did not go over very well for us.

We had a bit of a rocky start. The director was fired during the move in process and she did not have the accommodations that were promised to us for over a month. It made it hard for my loved one to get settled. I know they have changed directors and I am hopeful that everything is going to change for the better.

We like that they keep the communitive festive with holiday decorations - right now they have their fall decorations. However we are not allowed to see the meals our loved one eats so we do not know what they are serving, they also have activities but from what we have see it is very little. Also our loved ones clothes have gone missing so we think they could improve on internal communication, engagement and organization.

My loved one is not involved in too many activities. I picked this place because it was the only place that was availble at the time, they had an opening and my loved one got in right away. It's a safe environment, and three meals per day was an important factor for my loved ones care. Overall, they are well taken care of.

We are not sure about the activities, we do not think our loved one participate and we never saw a schedule of what activities were available. I would not recommend for a mobile, generally-healthy senior. Our loved one did not like being locked in, and he was very frustrated that he had to knock on the front door a long time before he was let in. Since he does not have dementia of any kind, this seemed like an excess of security and caused frustration for him. I know that other families may need that sort of security, so I don't mean that to be a criticism. Just not a good fit for my dad.

Cottonwood Manor is a nice small community which is something we really like

The activities are good. The need to get more enthusiastic, with those who are not mobile, so they can engage more in the activities. Overall, be there at the facility to interact with your loved one.

I toured Harvest Home & Inwood Crossing, and the person who spoke with us was very good. We chose another community because the size of their rooms would have been too small for both of my parents.
