They have a very caring staff. They treated my Daddy with dignity. Low turnover of staff. Most folks have worked there for years. Quick response to call buttons. I highly recommend Parsons House.

My mom is still learning about living in a community, this is all new to her. The staff try to help her feel understand but it has been fine. She is now sitting by a woman who talks with her. Their are some items with her meal that are cold and at times she is surprised by flavors, being that she is unable to see. The residents are nice and helpful to one another. She gets invited and participates in what activities she can do.

You get like one room. I thought who could live in this small space? Everything was tiny. This was early on in our search and we were looking for people who were still living independently at home so we didn't want a lot of people in wheelchairs which Ainsley Courte had because it's assisted living. It was all about space and social activity for us then so this didn't fit our needs. Help bathing and help eating is all you get for the care cost. The people there are there to stay - they don't have cars, they don't go and come.

My loved one is a resident at Parsons House Preston Hollow. The social environment is positive and the staff is friendly and supportive, but they depend heavily on the Aides which can be short staffed. If a resident needs added attention or greater needs, it may be frustrating. They have regular social events that are nice for the residents. They invite family members and really make it special. The size and proximity of the activities and the dining area was a positive. A first floor apartment is a bonus. Communication and coordination of medical visits, medicine, and responsiveness was lacking. Very much driven by family. They use a 3rd party physician group and it's difficult to get timely answers with their message service, as well.

We picked this community, because Austin was less expensive than some places. They do well with the activities. They need to improve by adding faster help.

I toured Parsons House La Porte and it was a nice tour! The facility was very clean. The staff was polite. However, this facility wasn't our first choice.

My biggest complaint is the price we were told it would cost for my family member to live here. We let them know what we could afford and they said based on their abilities we could be a lower level of care ($300 per level of care up to level 7). That was not honored. Some office staff do not speak respectfully to the residents and border line harass them into compliance. Some of the staff are very sweet and obviously care. There is a huge turn over in staff which is not a good sign. One family left because their family member was harassed by staff to the point that family member didn’t want to go on. I’m looking for a new place. As long as you come with your wallet open and you don’t disagree with staff it’s well maintained and smells good and they do have activities.

I went on a tour here and they answered all of my questions. The price was good and I liked how they had the option to pay in advance. They had a list of activities and it looked clean but this building is at least 30 years old and It looks like it. It just wasn't a good fit.

Toured on Friday, 8/22. Nice place, more expensive than Bethesda Gardens. Only has 2 care professionals on duty at one time. Not sure if they can handle care of 40 residents. Dining staff separate from care staff so that may help. Clean facility.

My parent is at Parson's House and we have repeatedly had issues in care. He feels the staff is unfriendly, so won't reach out if he is feeling bad. They save expenses by hiring a staff that is not proactive, knowledgeable, or interested in caring. There is no nurse onsite, and the "medical" staff are not trained RNs, LVNs or MOAs, so they don't have the expertise to handle anything other than dispensing prescriptions or calling an ambulance. Cleanliness is also an issue. Common areas aren't kept clean, and housekeeping in rooms is not kept up well. I've never seen the staff use the hand sanitizers when moving from room to room, even during this past outbreak of the flu. While it's a smaller community, which is great for a resident that needs minimal care, I doubt my parent will be able to age in place. As his care level rises, there just isn't the training or the expertise here to provide for a resident that needs medical care beyond simple dosing.

Parsons House did not impress me at all. You walked in and if felt like a nursing home pretty much. There's no central AC, so it was stuffy. Everything was an add-on. Their base price seemed cheaper at the beginning, but then every little thing was an add-on.

the activities were pretty good within the constraints they had to follow, they had a really nice activities director. In the beginning the meals were fantastic, but then they fired their head chef and the meals quickly declined after. There was a serious incident that happened with our loved one and the care staff team did not handle it well.

Some activities Parsons House had were board games, card games and exercise classes. Our loved one was in the memory care and it didn't seem like they were keeping a close eye on her like they should of. She was able to get out two times, and on the second time she was told to leave. Her room was more on the smaller side but it worked out perfectly for her, and she like the food most of the time.

At first glance seems like a great place. However, after the experience of staying in this facility for a while I learned much of the care is not genuine. The concern is about the monthly dues being collected. I experienced a bad situation and would not recommend this facility to anyone. Also, there was a roach in my bed the first night I arrived.

My tour of this facility was fine. It isn't a very secure community, and I didn't feel that my grandmother would be safe. It is a very open community, so anybody come just wonder into the community. They didn't really take the time to show us around. The tour was very rushed and cut short.

I thought it was nice, at first but when I got there to tour, it was very noticeable [name removed] is discriminating. In my opinion, I would not allow him in care of anyone there. I no longer support them. DO LOOK AT THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND SEE.

Even though I thought it would be the perfect place because it's close to where I live. It smelled of mildew and it has flooded in the past by Hurricane Harvey.

We were looking for a community for my mother to move into, and we toured Parsons House Cypress. We found this community very unsatisfactory. Upon arriving, we found that the day staff worker at the front desk was fast asleep in her chair. She woke up, looked at us, and almost immediately returned to sleep. I also had a friend stay here for rehab, and we found the food to be terrible. Several times, the nurses would also argue with my friend about when to take medications. I cannot recommend this community to anyone because the staff just seems so irresponsible and careless that I worry about what would happen to their loved ones if they stayed here.
