Pacifica Senior Living

I toured Tampa Gardens and it was not quite as good as the community we chose.

This community was in the midst of changing over to new management. This made me a little nervous but they had good follow up and provided a lot of information during the tour. There was just another community that stood out more.

My dad is not a very outgoing person. He's very choosy about the people he's around. I think in general they do a really good job. I do think the aides need to be trained better. But when they get on and you tell them what needs to be done, they get up and do it immediately. Sometimes they just need a little push, although I think that's happening everywhere now. Even though my dad always has a really good time, he does does still ask to come home sometimes. But then I remind him of what he has there, and he's happy overall. The residents hang out together, do things together, are friendly to one another. Being around other people like that is what keeps him going, and he's doing more now than he has done in a long time. Before selecting Pacifica, I visited quite a few places. Some are more fancy, but none felt as homey as Pacifica Palm Beach.

This is a good community for the money. For the cost, this is a good buy.

There have been some staff shake-ups. There was a change in ownership right after our loved one moved in. Some of the staff that we really liked are no longer there. He reports that the food quality is not as good as when he first moved in. And the activities are hit or miss, most likely due to Covid staffing issues. But the staff has tried to get my loved one involved in more activities, and they've reached out to him quite a bit. The facility itself is well kept. And they're doing some remodeling and making it even more attractive.

Our loved one is still adjusting to this community, but overall we like the people and she is liking it there. The process they go through to explain the different levels of care is great, it is written down and clear on paper which was something our loved ones previous community did not do.

I found that this is the best place for my mom. They were able to accommodate the special care that my mom needed. The staff are excellent to work with. There is only a floor nurse for us to reach out, and there are no phones in the resident's rooms and this bothers me as I would like to speak to my mom directly.

We had a good, positive tour at Pacifica Palm Beach. It was a very nice facility, and was something we were considering. However, it was cost prohibitive for us in terms of the community fee.

Our loved one is still adjusting, but overall the Meridian is a beautiful place, and compared to other assisted communities we visited the value is great. Our loved one has a larger, spacious and well appointed room so we are very pleased with that.

We have had a very good experience with Pacifica. It is a smaller facility which he likes and it has a great atmosphere with a beautiful courtyard. His care has been great and the staff are always on top of things. They have been great with communication but sometimes there is a language barrier with a few of the nurses. I highly recommend them to others looking,

The tour itself was fine. It was just an older facility. And another place we chose just seemed a little more homey.

The value of this community is good and the accommodations are really good compared to some of the other communities that we saw. The only downfall is that the meals are not very good to my loved one. Sometime she likes certain things but majority of the time she is not happy with the food. They do have ambassadors at the community that show people around and my mom had an ambassador but no one showed her around so she it still finding new things on her own because she was not shown around. This community has one of the best kitchens that I saw in majority of the community and they all have balconies. My only negative is the food. The staff are very friendly and responsive.

The tour guide was great but this just did not feel like the right fit. They were very communicative and followed up a lot and let us know that they would be there no matter what community we went with. Very beautiful in the inside but not really any outside seating or places to go to be outside. The staff were nice but the front desk was not very welcoming and bright. Very dark and could use more natural light for the residents. Felt like my loved one would be lost here.

Pacifica Sunrise is a beautiful facility, they had just redone the place when we went to tour. The staff were all very nice, we just did not get the warm and fuzzy feeling we were looking for. There was no follow up after we left.

First, the staff that we have met are wonderful: they were so helpful and friendly; they facilitated my parents' move and made it a reality for them, we are so grateful. Cleaning staff is great --my mom feels like someone is really watching out for her. The place has been renovated, and the new paint and carpet makes a big difference in the overall look. That being said, there are some rather upsetting problems with Meridian. My mom needs a low salt diet, and, while it was initially promised as available, it is not. Consequently,parents frequently eat in the room. Secondly, like clockwork, the hot water turns off at different intervals during the day, making it impossible to shower. Repeated requests produce no positive results. Lastly, when things need to be repaired--it takes a long time. The elevator near my mom's apt. has been out for a while and she uses a walker. She has to walk a distance to get to her room. Not good. So..I'm happy she's there, but could be happier.

I really liked Pacifica, it was in our top 3 choices. I got along with the director and she was very personable. It was a little more run down, but it had a great location.
