Oak Park Place

While looking into some options we found that this facility was a better fit for my love ones. My first impression of the facility was that it is high quality in terms of interaction and communication. We had a comprehensive meeting answering our questions and we felt comfortable to where we needed to be. Bottom line is that they are high quality and they actually won an award for customer service in the city of Madison. They also provide many activities for their residents. They explained to me their philosophy and how they want their residents to be as active as possible depending on their care. I would recommend this location. I will say that it is more expensive than others and you get what you pay for, but it’s all depending on what you’re looking for.

The staff seems rather competent. They administer my loved one’s medicine regularly and properly. They also seem to keep him out of trouble as well. A few things I think that they can improve on to begin with are the activities. Majority of the residents at this particular location are women and the activities seem to be specifically tailored to them such as cooking and having little children visit. Perhaps they could add more variety that could be beneficial for both genders. The facility itself is relatively neat and organized. However, my loved one is supposed to be receiving assistance bathing once a week, but from what I have noticed he only received assistance once in the entire month of November. I actually have been planning to talk to one person in management but every time I try to find him I seem to miss him. Finally, my loved one doesn’t think the food is too good. He and some other residents have had discussions about it and they state that the cooks try to get too “creative”. They prefer more simplistic options such as hamburgers or pizza. It also might be a question of texture, but I’m not sure. Overall I would still recommend this location to others.

This community looked clean when we visited. They do not offer transportation. They did have nice size rooms. This community was a little more expensive than what we were looking for.

I have no complaints about how things went for my loved one and I during our tour of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I liked the floor plan and thought they had a lot of great amenities for all of the residents. It was just not the right fit for my mom in the end decision.

I toured this community for my mother, and her needs. There were many factors that played into where to move my mother to for her needs. This is a nice community, and everyone was very kind. Unfortunately this wasn't the right fit us, but our tour went well overall.

I toured this community for care. The staff was nice and friendly. The do not take medicare for the residents that are needing the assistance. We suggested that families tour this community for care of a loved one.

Very nice, however we need two bedrooms and would want to have our little dog with us.

The community seemed clean when we visited. The staff at this community seemed nice. I would have chosen this community if it was in a better location for us. They allow cats at this community.

The staff where all very informative during our tour, they made sure to greet us on time and give us lots of useful and helpful information of there community. They offered us to try one of there meals for free and join in on activities that where going on at the time. I have nothing bad to say about our visit the location was just not a right fit for my family and I

This is a nice community. The staff needs to watch security better. They do have activities to stay active. She seems happy and enjoys the clean community. Families would be happy with the care here.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I thought Oak Park Place looked like a very nice place, overall! All of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional, and the facility was clean and well kept. We ended up selecting another community, but I'd say this one is worth a look!

Beautiful place but way too large. Long hallways and need to ride elevators for everything

Everything is going great for my mother since her move into Oak Park Place. The community is well-kept and very clean. The staff is great, they are very nice and helpful. My mother loves the food. There are activities offered here for the residents. Our experience so far has been a good one and I would recommend this community.

Looks like a very nice facility. The day we were there we could not tour the memory care unit because there was a GI infection going round with the residents. Stacy was very apologetic about it. She gave us a tour of what she could and asked us a lot of questions. I felt she had a good understanding of my moms needs

I am pretty much pleased with the care my mother is receiving at Oak Park Place Madison. I like the fact that they take the guess work out of what the monthly cost is going to be. At all of the other places we looked into that was nebulous. They had a base price and you had to guess what the monthly price would be. She has a roof over her head, food, clothing. She is getting transportation to and from doctor appointments. She gets the care and attention she needs.

The communication could be improved at Oak Park Place Wauwatosa. The communication between the workers and the family isn't good. There has been a lot of turn over of the staff. I think due to that things aren't running as smoothly as they should be. The staff are nice it's just sometimes they don't take enough initiative with the residents. Mom reports that the food is good and the facility itself is nice and organized. I would just like to see that communication improved.

I think overall, the Oak Park Place is a great facility. I think they should add more varied activities and outings. Everything else has been okay. The food is good most of the time. It has it's days. The location is good. It is very serene and peaceful. The communication with the staff has been good. I would recommend the Oak Park Place Wauwatosa to anyone. It is a great place overall. My overall rating is Four Stars.

Overall I think they do a good job at Oak Park Place. My loved one seems to be settling in well, and she says she likes the food and her apartment. The people here seem friendly, and the facility itself is well kept and clean. However, although they have a decent amount of on-site activities I would like to see them do a few more trips and outings.

Oak Park Place has done pretty well for us overall; the only thing mainly is I'd say communication between staff and families could be better.
