The staff is excellent. My husband is not the easiest person to deal with and they have handled him with care and understanding. The house is always clean and the bedroom is a perfect size.

Not Certified in CPR

The facility in Burleson, did not have emergency pull cords in the rooms. There is a big turn around of employees probably due to lack of communication and consistency of upper management. The workers are not trained to have CPR training. I could go on and on but this is not the format for it.

Terrible. Nobody knows who the patients are or what’s wrong with them. The ambulance shows up and has to ask multiple questions because no one knows the answers or where the residence paperwork is located.

Extremely Disappointed

He was neglected at Mustang Creek Burleson. We can't recommend that place for anyone. He has food allergies and instead of trying to work with him and ask him what he could eat from their menu, if what they were serving for the day was something with gluten then they just didn't feed him. They didn't come by and ask, they didn't try. He is currently on hospice and the hospice provided fentanyl patches for him. He asked for the patches and they said they didn't have them when they clearly did. He fell in the floor and tried pushing the button that hangs around his neck multiple times and nobody came. He finally crawled to his phone and called the front desk and told them he had fallen in the floor and someone came to help him. No one notified us that he had fallen. When questioned about it, they denied any knowledge of him falling or why he had bruises all over him. We had tried multiple times talking to them about him not being fed and they said that he had an Anytime menu he could order from. Every time he asked for something from the Anytime menu he was told they were completely out. Halo Hospice is his hospice care team and they were frustrated with Mustang Creek and recommended Elk Creek to us. I do believe the director of nursing at Halo spoke to whoever is in charge over there about the issues that [name removed] experienced. We are hoping that he will have appropriate care at [name removed].

Complex mess, and only in it for the money. Corporation doesn't actually care

It started fine then just went downhill fast. From the basic of care on up. This place is a mess. The turnover rate stood out. The level of care was poor. It had its high moments but why should I praise them for doing the basics every now and then. The supervision was poor.

Mustang Creek

Mustang Creek Estates is a good place for residents who are independent with their care. Unfortunately, if your loved one needs assistance with ADL's, there are only a few aides that are willing or trained to provide the care. I spoke with the administrator and assistance administrator and voice my complaint of my mother being left in bed for over 12 during the day. They promised to address this lack of care, and stated all the employees were qualified to use a hoyer lift. This was a lie as I personally had to show many of there employees how to use it. Addionally, it didnt mattrr what time of day or evening, when we showed up, they were always stated "they" were just going to change her and get her up. I also discovered a huge medication error. The Aides decided to start crushing all her medications and putting them in a 12 - 16 oz smoothie because she had difficulty swallowing a potassium tablet. They were doing this for at least 3 days when I discovered what they were doing without supervision and immediately gave a 30 day notice to move out. She was hospitalized 4 days later and never returned to Mustang Creek Estates. Mustang Creek has a few very good employees who really provide great care, however there are way too many who don't do much for the residents.

Poor experience

Overall experience was poor at best. The quality of care and the admin side is poor...way too much turnover in staff. Food service was sketchy and wasn't provided on a regular basis. Too much is asked of the staff members who show for work. I would not recommend to others. Way too expensive for this experience.

Would not ever recommend

From the directors to the staff they have major problems. It all starts at the top. I felt like they were more interested in the bottom dollar than in the people themselves. They have no activities. Most of the residents stay in their rooms all day long. They can't ever get enough staff to give proper care. My mother would lay in her own excrement for hours before I could get someone to help her. The food was horrible because the staff didn't know how to cook. The rooms were kind of small but not bad.

Our experience

Although my sister and I highly recommend that facility be removed from your list until a formal investigation of some kind can be done to ensure the residents are being properly cared for and everyone on staff is trained. They could improve on everything.

Review for Mustang Creek Estates Frisco

The lack of activities was real! The food was atrocious. The girls they hire are not trained to do the jobs they require of them - thus the food. I saw many of the meals as well as visits with the residents. [name removed] who I had the most contact with from the beginning, was wonderful. I only wish the facility (which had promise), had lived up to my hopes.

HORRIBLE PLACE TO PUT YOUR LOVED ONE

I moved my mother into MC in September and out in November. The care was horrendous and it was dirty and smelled. My mother’s bathroom toilet was covered in ?? and so was her floor. She fell and cut her head open, it took them 4 days to clean the blood from her walls, bed and floor, I called the director daily to get them to clean it. My mom has dementia, I was told by the director and staff they did not have the time to care for her, I needed to hire a sitter to stay with her throughout the day - that’s what I hired them to do. The brand new mattress I purchased for her was ruined in less than two months because staff took the mattress cover off, put it in the closet. I had to throw the mattress away. I moved her out in the middle of the month and they are insisting I pay the full 30 days rent because that’s what I agreed to. I had no choice but to move her out due to the lack of care she received . They are not responsive to email or calls. Worst experience. I could go on and on

Families that are looking for a safe place should not use this facility.

Staff not nice. They don't have the education to help the residents. The staff they have that are educated re: dementia DX are located in level one. Not in level 2.

Keep Looking - Not what we were promised

We really wanted to like Mustang Creek but it has not lived up to our expectations. Our family member was not placed in the home we were shown. Mustang Creek does not have enough staff dedicated to each home. Although an 8:1 ratio may work for assisted living, it is not acceptable for memory care residents when those same 2 staff members are also prepping meals and supposedly cleaning, as well as providing meds. After meals, residents are taken to sit around in the TV area. This is a message I received from a family member: Took 10 minutes to be let in. Lunch isn’t ready. Sheets and comforter are dirty. Full poopy depends on the floor. Commode has [removed language] on it. Trash can full. Asked for cleaning supplies but they are too busy to get any for me. Floor doesn’t appear to have been cleaned since she moved in. She stinks to high heaven, presumably because she [removed language] herself during the night. Dirty clothes basket full to the top again. Laundry obviously not getting done. Having both caregivers concentrating on preparing and serving lunch and none of the rest of this getting done, is frankly unacceptable. We will be moving our family member back to her previous facility but in the memory care portion.

Review for Mustang Creek Estates Frisco

The worst experience I have ever had and extremely expensive with almost no care. My friend has only hours left now, after 8 days at Frisco Mustang and is now on hospice. Another friend left their Allen facility after a month. However, I have had only good experiences with A Place for Mom after 13 years of your recommendations

DO NOT put your family member on this place! Is it dirty and disgusting and the staff doesn’t not care. Corporate shows more compassion for the money they make than the residents they so claim to care for. AWFUL!

Beware or Avoid for your Loved One.

Mustang Creek Estates is severely understaffed. They expect 2 people to handle 15 to 17 residents. In the house my husband was in, 3 residents needed the Hoyer lift (a 2 staff required procedure) & 3 to 4 others needed assistance with transfers. The same 2 people were supposed to distribute meds, clean & shower the residents, as well as cook, serve & clean up after 3 meals a day. They were also supposed to do activities as the activity director spent little time in House F. It was not a good situation.
