My parent has not been a resident for very long at Spring Meadows Summit but so far, the staff has been friendly and attentive to all request made of them. Over all the residence is clean but it is time to replace the hall carpets since it is looking rather worn out. Housekeeping is responsive to any concerns and keeps the public areas of the facility very clean. So far there are many activities, indoors as well as field trips to keep the seniors busy and the activity coordinator tries to encourage everyone to participate in an activity. It may be expensive to live there but it certainly gives one peace of mind that their loved one is residing in a safe and friendly environment and where assistance is just a call button away.

Very caring team lead by top management every day. Food is delicious. Entire staff offers great care to all ! We are so glad we found this wonderful home that solves all of our needs.

So far I can't say I have any complaints. There doesn't seem to be any improvement in the food though, so that is disappointing. Everything else seems fine, it's clean, and the staff is friendly. I don't really get any other complaints.

The place looks pretty and doesn't smell. Calls are not returned by staff or directors. The staff turn over is huge, like a revolving door. There is much confusion in the way this facility is run. Missing laundry happens too often. There is no system in place to handle laundry.

I moved my Mother into Brandywine Senior Living at Fenwick Island in Delaware in April of 2014. The staff has been very responsive when I call, they call me with updates (as I don't live nearby) and they send me photos! The memory unit is very patient and caring and I especially like all the activities they provide. One of my favorites is the Friday afternoon Happy Hour which usually has live music. Another favorite event is the monthly Signature program called "Family Day Connection." This gives you the opportunity to meet family members of the other residents. It helps build friendships and connections. I can't wait to move to Delaware to be closer and more involved with the facility!

My brother and I brought my parents to Brandywine Senior Living/Fenwick Island in November 2013, from their home in Florida. Dad is near 90 and was very weak, both from a long trip moving here and his congestive heart disease. Mom was suffering from dementia. We were met at the door to Brandywine by medical and management staff after their normal hours. We could not have received a warmer welcome from family. It seemed as though everyone on staff knew each of us personally. The medical staff paid immediate attention to their specific needs and arranged for the proper therapy for them. When Mom passed away in March 2014, the staff was extremely supportive of all of us, especially my Dad. Dad has blossomed under their care, physically and mentally. At home, his hobby was woodworking. Recently, the staff at Brandywine started a cooperative woodworking project where men who have interests like my Dad build small wooden projects, using power tools, which are then finished by other residents who enjoy painting and decorating. Dad was so happy after his first day of this project that he sounded like a kid at Christmas when he told me that ”they moved a woodshop in and I’m covered with sawdust again!” The attention to detail at Brandywine is amazing. I truly feel as though I am among friends whenever I’m there visiting. My brother and I no longer worry about Dad. We know that he is well cared for, well fed and happy.

My mother came to the dementia / Alzheimer's unit at Brandywine Assisted Living 1 1/2 years ago, and the experience has been a lifesaver for my mother, father, and our entire family. The entire staff has been wonderful in caring for my mothers needs, as well as my fathers. There are many activities for the residents, including ceramics, entertainers, day trips, etc,. which help my mother socialize with others. I would recommend Brandywine Assisted Living whole heartedly.

So far, Brandywine seems to be good at what they do. My Mother seems to like it. However, I do feel it is very expensive for someone like my mother who does not require any care besides housekeeping and meals. I wish they had a less expensive level for someone like her.

I don't think that they gave enough care. My loved one walked into Brandywine, and came out in a wheelchair. They were having problems managing medications well. Everybody was pleasant and if she could take better care of herself it would be a lovely place. She doesn't dislike the place, she would say if only I felt better. She didn't like the doctor. The food is very good, but it's very rich, the ladies complain that it is too rich. It is a beautiful place if someone doesn't need much help, they don't seem to live up to their standard of care. I didn't feel like they kept the rooms as clean as I would have kept it, and they penny pinch you on everything. The staff were lovely people. This just wasn't a good fit for us.

The property itself is quite nice. Feels homey without being too opulent, and very clean and welcoming. Apartments are spacious with nice layouts. Responsiveness from sales staff hasn't been great, but after being pesty, they do respond. Parents complain about the quality/variety of meals. Breakfast stops being served at 9AM, and they aren't thrilled with dinners. Overall value as compared to other facilities is great. Hard to gauge sometimes whether their first impressions are a result of the facility or their acclimation, but I'd definitely recommend this facility for touring.

I toured this place when looking for something for my Mom. It seemed nice enough, but it was just too big for Mom. I know if she was here she would get lost or not want to leave her room in general.

This community has an excellent director, and the activities and daily programming staff are excellent. Lots of appropriate activities for the residents. They have plenty to do on-site, and field trips for the more mobile residents. I also like that there is an independent on-site doctor and physical therapy location. They also have some serious issues. NONE of the toilets in this community are handicapped/wheelchair height, they are all standard size. They have a do-not-lift policy, which is very unusual for an assisted living facility. They will not bring medication to the residents, the residents must go to a specific location to pick up their own. The food is also disappointing, there are few selections, and no low-sodium options, which many residents need. It would also be nice if 2 bedrooms units were offered, as many residents have 24 hour aides.

Basically the place is nice, food is decent. However the nursing is not sufficient. I hear it's the same at most places..

A couple months back i'd have given them a zero. And had seriously thought about moving her elsewhere. Since then I have seen some improvement. For the most part the aids there are very good. Our communication has improved due to a couple of individuals. Two nurses. [name removed] and [name removed]. A male nurse ([name removed]) was also one we all respected. He's no longer there. Saying that I'd give them a 3 out of 5 right now. That's with where she resides. On the other side, administrative, giving them maybe a 2 would be it right now. They as a whole lack communication skills. On more than one occasion I was to be called back to set up a meeting of sorts. It hasn't happened. And now I choose not to.. Believe me if it wasn't because of those couple people I mentioned and I do believe my sisters would agree, we'd be relocating my mom.

The room including bathroom and closet were a decent size. My mom was in memory care. They can definitely need to do more in the activities and exercise department. They need to spend more time with each patient. The staff was rough with her during bathing and hygiene days. I mentioned this to them a few times. Most of the general staff were great. Some needed more training regarding needs of people in memory care unit. The management staff not very attentive after you sign on the dotted line. Get everything you need upfront before the move in date. They need outdoor space. Assisted living residence were sitting in small, scattered areas by the parking lot. Memory care outdoor space didn't open while my mom was there. I didn't see anyone being taken out for fresh air. They kept saying they are getting ready to clean it up. The billing was awful as well. They would up the level of care and not let you know until you received the bill. I would call to question it and they were so nonchalant about it. Lack of communication.

[Name Removed] was very helpful and knowledgeable, and compassionate. I didn't talk much to other staff. They told me the rules my husband had to follow or leave. I would go back there if there were more staff to have more activities. The staff was friendly, just not enough of them. I really liked [Name Removed] too because she was always smiling and comforting.

I would definitely say the place feels like it's understaffed, the caregivers are seem taxed, there doesn't seem to be follow through on feedback, they are concerned with getting people in but not as concerned with maintaining satisfaction. They are not detail oriented. They could customize support per patient vs one size fits all mentality.

Food can be an issue. There has been some turnover of staff like Chef so quality is not consistent and sometimes staffing in dining room makes for long wait. Room Service also affected. Seems Less staff at night so longer wait time when aid is called. Staff do a good job of cleaning and building is well cared for. Front desk staff kind and helpful.
