Brandywine Gets My Vote

I strongly recommend Brandywine Living at Pennington, NJ for your loved one. Both the facility itself and the staff are superior. The facility is well-designed and maintained, enhancing the quality of life of the residents. The staff is very friendly and caring and goes out of their way to meet the residents' needs as well as their wants. To most of them, it is more of a mission than just a job. Brandywine also offers the residents a variety of activities on a daily basis as well as outside entertainers. I looked at a lot of places for my father before I chose this particular Brandywine and after 18 months I am confident that I made the right choice.

Been a rough road but things are looking up

My dad has had a rough start here, but all the staff and management have been so good in working with us to help him. My dad fell and had to start physical therapy which they do have on site but he did end up having to go to the hospital and then had a short stay at a rehab But he is now back and they have set him up in a respite assisted living apt until he is well enough to return to his own apt in the independent living section. All of the staff here have done so much for my dad, and things are beginning to turn around for him here. He enjoys going to the dining room for his meals and he likes socializing with the other residents there. The food is good in fact I have met with the chef and was impressed with the fact that he uses fresh ingredients in his cooking, I like the food as well. I would definitely recommend this community and doing a tour here.

New and impressive

This is a brand new facility, and every member of the staff has been making an outstanding effort to create a feeling of "home" for all the new residents. Although residents have been moving in at a rate probably a bit slower than the facility hoped, staff has initiated a slew of resident activities and ensures that everyone gets something they enjoy. The facilities themselves are quite impressive...everything from a pub to a full movie theater. One missing thing: a lending library where residents can swap books and magazines (although staff indicated this was coming).

Top Notch

My mother lived at the community for over a year. The community is top notch! My mother was treated with such dignity and grace by the staff. The food was impressive and the cleanliness of the community was like nothing I've ever seen. If you're looking for a homey, intimate community this is it.

Our mother has been living at Brandywine (Pennington) for three months now. After our father unexpectedly passed away, she had an abrupt change in her life which included moving into assisted living. The staff and residents welcomed her with open arms. It is truly an impressive place, noticeable in the lobby area when first entering. The facility is kept very clean and the staff is quite attentive. The Brandywine staff works well with our family and they are responsive to our input and observations. The food is excellent and the dining room elegant, with a staff of waiters taking orders, serving, and offering desserts. Plenty of varied activities for those who wish to participate, ranging from exercise classes, arts and crafts, bingo, etc. Bottom line – though our mother misses our father dearly, she is happy at Brandywine and well taken care of. This move was the definitely the right choice with no regrets.

Mom's Very Satisfied

Mom's been at the Hearth (Assisted Living) for 2+ months and we've been very pleased. It's an ideal size for her needs: it's in one building with 3 floors (95-100 units, I think) and big enough to have the staffing while small enough to be surprisingly personal. The food is really good and they serve 3 full meals. The atmosphere is friendly, clean and quiet. They have 24-hour nursing care and staff that really do get to know the residents. There are daily activities, including exercise, games, crafts and even a happy hour. A private dining room and two "country kitchens" (with appliances for BYO) are available for family get-togethers. There are regularly scheduled trips for shopping, medical, etc. and 1-2 special outings/month. We have not required their med management or assistance-with-daily-living services, but they are available at extra cost. Being in a community setting always means some compromises, but we have found the management and staff to be approachable, involved and willing to help. Every situation is unique, but for our needs and preferences, this is proving to be a very good choice.

Caring staff and a wonderful place to spend elder years

I moved my Mom here after being in another facility for a month that she was so depressed she would cry every day. I cannot be happier that I found the Brandywine, the facility is clean, the staff is all wonderful, caring and always informing me of anything going on, family oriented. You can see how happy the residents are just walking around there and they are always doing things and daily events, I cannot reach my Mom until end of the day at 9 because she is out of her apartment in the morning and involved all day long. She has made some nice friends with other residents and I have a great relationship with the staff, especially Brittany who will send me pics of my Mom involved in activity and my 4 year old daughter loves to visit Grandma to see "all her new friends" ... if you truly care for your loved one this is the place for them. You will never have to worry about their well being because the whole staff takes such good care of the residents and it truly shows. Well done and thank you for all you do !

very positive experience

They do seem a bit understaffed. I think they need some more aids to help out the residents out. That is the one area of improvement I can think of. Other than that everything with The Fountains At RiverVue has been a very positive experience.

New Lease on Life

My mom is a recent resident of Brandywine at Mountain Ridge. She's lived there for about a month in a one-bedroom apartment, and my husband and I cannot get over the positive change in her. She was feeling rather hopeless and depressed and uninterested in doing things before her move to Brandywine. She was having trouble walking (with a walker) and uninterested in doing exercises to mitigate the problem. Well, one month later mom is wearing her nicest clothes and pretty earrings and make-up and moving around the halls on her walker like a pro. We're amazed at her progress. It's the staff, who make everyone feel like family and go a long way toward integrating each new member into the community. Mom's made some new friends and really enjoys after-lunch bingo, especially when she wins. She's hardly ever in her apartment. Worth the cost and the 45-minute distance from where my husband and I live. We are very grateful that mom is becoming more like the person she was when she was working (at 80). She's nearly 85 now and has the start of a new lease on life, which is exactly what we wanted for her.

Very Happy

We have had a very good experience with Brandywine, starting from our initial tour, through my father's move in and subsequent transition. The facilities are very comfortable and well-maintained, and the proximity of the attached rehabilitation center is very convenient. The staff is friendly, engaging, and very welcoming to residents and families. They went out of their way to ensure that his transition was as smooth as possible. A wide variety of activities and outings are offered for the residents, and the staff seeks out opportunities to engage specific interests of each resident. After considering a number of other facilities in the area, we are very happy to be with Brandywine.

Brandywine Offers Great Care

Brandywine allowed my mom to stay for a several days (weeks) on a trial basis. Mom agreed, with the promise of some physical therapy for her aching legs. My mom has lived at Brandywine for the past six months. She has flourished there under the expert care of the staff and management. I cannot put into words how the loving and dedicated care of ALL staff members has impressed our entire family. Their commitment has given our family peace of mind and, Mom a happy smile on her face. We feel secure in knowing she eats her meals and her meds are supervised. Mom participates in the activities, has many friends and has a lovely, comfortable room. We are grateful every day for the gift of Brandywine.

A Very Special Place

Brandywine Senior Living at Middlebrook Crossing has become a very special place for my mom as well as our family. After much discussion in 2009 our family along with mom realized we needed to move our parents from Florida back to New Jersey and find them a place to live that would meet both of their needs. We visited many senior living homes and the only one that felt right for all of us was Brandywine. The staff has been wonderful to our family especially through the transition and changes over the years. Our mom has made some good friends and really enjoys the people who work at Brandywine. The activities, the outings, and the care from all the personnel makes Brandywine a very special place.

Brandywine is where I would personally live

From the first day I toured to the move in, & now the actual living day to day, Brandywine Princeton has been a very positive experience. It has become a home not just a place to live, for my dad. Everyone there has been very helpful, friendly, welcoming & professional. The entire staff works together as a team, to make sure your loved one is well cared for. They have a lot of activities, weekly outings/field trips, a bus to Target, the grocery store, a Farm market etc. They have visiting entertainers, dance troupes, bands etc. I visited 6 other Assisted living facilities before I visited Brandywine & this is the one I would personally live in. I am very satisfied with the professionalism, the care & the team. Also a major plus for me is how clean it is all the time. Brandywine is AWESOME!

Reflections at Brandywine Fenwick is terrific

Our Mom has been at Brandywine Senior Living at Fenwick Island in the Reflections program (Memory Care unit) for 3 years. She is thriving there. Her Alzheimer’s deterioration has slowed with the active yet structured environment, daily exercise (Fun, Fit and Fabulous) and healthy meals. The caregivers are kind and attentive; yet do not do things for the residents that they can do for themselves. Brandywine has programs for the residents that are fun and family focused, such as the monthly Family Day Connections. This is a monthly “theme based” party for the residents and their families to enjoy shared experiences. Brandywine serves special treats and has live music for everyone to enjoy either by singing along, dancing or just listening. We feel so fortunate and blessed to have our Mom at Brandywine. We no longer worry about her safety, well-being or whether she is being mentally stimulated. We know she is!
