My husband is a resident. He enjoys the food and the care. However , I am not getting feedback from the staff about his medications and other issues I have brought up. The doctor has not communicated with me, tho I have left messages for him with the staff. Now that the Director and her asst are leaving, I'm not sure what response I will get. I'm also disappointed that I can't visit more often than once a week.

My relative is slowly adjusting to living with new people and to all the amenities offered at Chevy Chase House. Her apartment is spacious and inviting, and she finds the meals mostly well prepared. Occasionally, there are a few food items that need improvement. The activities are plentiful and well received. Although the cost of residing at Chevy Chase House is quite high, she would definitely recommend living there.

I do like the Preserve for my parents. They do have concerns about the old carpeting but they just painted! Looks better. They are also complaining about the dining experience as they are under staffed. The staff that is there is young,(probably 1st timers) in the work force with no customer service skills. Food is good with a variety of menus.

My mom says she likes it there, food is good, people are nice. She's not really into activities, but I feel that she's safe, and able to get immediate help if needed. She appears content. It's located less than 2 miles from my house, so it's convenient and one of the reasons we chose it.

Great place for Mom. Very caring and attentive. Great food and clean and well organized.

We toured the Brookdale Smithfield. It was a nice community the staff was friendly and gave a good presentation of what their community could offer. We chose a smaller community that was a better fit for my mother.

The Preserve at Palm Aire is a nice community. It's a rather large community and seems a bit run down. During our tour, we realized it was not what my father needed at the moment.

Our experience with Lane Park has been a good one, in general, and I think they are working on improving. It's a newer facility, and they've got a new management staff in that is working on making things better. I saw quite a few communities in the area and this is definitely one of the better ones. However, as is the case with a lot of these places, I feel like things wouldn't be going as smoothly if I wasn't visiting often and being an advocate for my loved one, and I wish I didn't feel like that was necessary.

I have found that the staff is very friendly. My aunt came here for rehab and to our surprise because she always made us promise not to put her in a nursing home she decided she didn't want to leave. She misses the rehab floor because they were more helpful.

The apartment is just lovely and it is the entire grounds are clean and nicely kept. Most of the people who work there are very pleasant. There are lots of good activities and trips- even if just to the supermarket and shopping. The food is ok -- does not always come out hot and the new Sunday brunch does not really work out well for people on walkers - not sure why they started that. But for the most part a very nice place to be.

I saw this one and it was nice. It was not quite as open as another place I saw. It was a little more expensive, and further away, so we didn't go with this one.

That was not my favorite. It was just not very bright. The lady was very nice and very accommodating - it was the building, the room and the accommodations in general. It was more dark and dreary.

Some very friendly some quite disinterested. Some were great and others were extremely rude and disinterested in their job. The wait staff incredibly rude to many of the residents but nice to visitors. Definitely could have been better with the residents. Improvements would start with communication, being organized and training personnel to be kind to these elderly folks. There were some truly lovely people, but in terms of consistency- that is a management problem. The dining room had some employees that were unhappy- whether that was related to pay or working conditions, I do not know, but they were often inpatient and down right nasty to many clients/residents in the dining room. Follow through, also a management problem was inconsistent.

Overall experience is fair. Food and activities is good. Staff communication is lacking. Cleanliness is ok. Assisted living is much better than memory care portion. Staff is not trained very well and there doesn't seem to be good turnover between shifts.

When I moved my parents in I was told they would assist them. They do not appear to assist them with the daily problems they experience. Be cautious of salespeople who over promise. I asked a lot of questions about who would assist with medication, general needs like their TV, phones and internet. I was told they had people who would assist them with the day to day difficulty of aging. It turns out they feed them and house them but do no more. [Amount removed] a month for a two bedroom apartment and meals. I feel like they should do more.

They said it would be an appropriate environment but she ended up needing a higher level of care. Rooms were large. Staff seemed nice.

Room is adequate. The common areas are sufficiently cleaned. Activities are often a video of exercise or a sermon or a movie their ages are not interested in. Residents do not engage with the videos. Animal documentaries would be better than Jim Carey movies. There are some staff who are very pleasant but most of them do not smile or greet visitors. They do their jobs but don't seem happy there. Food is good, beautifully presented and served hot. Large portions.

I thought the staff was friendly and helpful when I was present and visiting my mom. Improvements: The director of the facility was overwhelmed and needed more assistance. They only had 1 RN on staff every day to cover the whole facility. They definitely needed another RN. because there was always an extended wait time for the nurse to administer shots my mother needed before she passed away.

If your family member is truly assisted living, I think it's a fine place. When you start to need extra help, it becomes more difficult to help. Weekend staffing could be improved. Also the staff turnover is very high. Another difficult adjustment for the elderly.

All I can say is the caretakers were very nice but I went there several times a week to check on my dad and I felt that was necessary. Was disappointed in some of the situations that occurred especially not answering the call bell and the care my dad received after falling.
